I hope for some of the days the weather is dull & grey, as it will make for a cosier time on the sofa, not getting dressed and watching movies all day with lots of mugs of tea. A whole day of not getting dressed - bliss.

I may go for a long walk some days if dry, I'll be WAH some days but it wont be busy. I may go to the gym.

I won't go anywhere near the shops for the sales - utter hell

Mostly at work.

Plump82 · 19/12/2025 14:05

Working unfortunately. No holidays for me till 1st Jan.

PerspicaciaTick · 19/12/2025 14:07

I'm working too.

ResusciAnnie · 19/12/2025 14:07

Hopefully the weather will be like it is here today - crisp and cold - not like the torrential rain of the last few days!

My parents are here til 27th;

then will try and meet up with friends,

go for walks,

do all the kits and games our kids will get for Christmas,

do some prep for work and some of the things I don’t get to do during term time eg read all the books around my subject that I want to read!

Go for some runs and watch soMe movies.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 19/12/2025 14:08

Spend time with my boyfriend as he’s off work and I don’t work (I do do voluntary work).

Alexadidzammomarryjackie · 19/12/2025 14:08

Drink, eat cheese.

NoodlesMcGee · 19/12/2025 14:08

Exactly the same as you OP. Looking forward to having some nice long walks with the dog, and then retreating home for cosiness and nibbling on all the Christmas treats and lovely leftovers. We’ve plans to go to a local panto and out for dinner one night, but otherwise very low key and relaxed. Can’t wait!

Firstnamelastname123 · 19/12/2025 14:08

We have booked ice skating, llama walking and Longleat festival of lights on separate days between Xmas and new year. Might try to fit in an escape room and a bit of sales shopping too.

<sighs>

One of the many projects around the house that is unfinished

MrTwisterHasABlister · 19/12/2025 14:09

I lost my darling mum at the end of September after helping my dad to nurse her for the last 8 months of her life, whilst also working. I had a week off after her funeral. It’s been a brutal brutal year.

I’m seeing my dad over Christmas, coming home on the 27th. I have absolutely no plans and plan to continue this lack of plans till I go back to work on the 5th. I cannot wait for Christmas to be over and the relaxing to begin.

mondaytosunday · 19/12/2025 14:14

Not a lot! Walk the dog. Chill. Eat (I’m letting myself off my strictly controlled diet for the week).
Well, my DD has a few hospital appointments and driving lessons (test early January) and I have a major admin task for the 23rd…but after that smooth… my DD is cooking Christmas dinner and son doing the washing up so you will find me on the sofa with some wine (first since Sept 1)!

Eeyorefan · 19/12/2025 14:15

Another one working.

EmmaStone · 19/12/2025 14:16

27th - sports match
28th - 7.5 hr round trip drive to see PIL for 1 hr. Neighbours in the evening for drinks.
29th - London for an exhibition (6 hr round trip)
30th - nothing planned (yet - but hopefully not sitting in a car for most of the day!)
31st - NY Eve doing something, possibly friends in London (again), hopefully something closer to home. Also some work to check all ready for year end.
1st - recovery
2md - back to work.

icebearforpresident · 19/12/2025 14:18

I’m also working but I work in a public library so it’ll be nice and quiet, we expect to see our regulars and pretty much nobody else. We’re doing reduced hours and closing early so I’ll be home by 4pm. I’ve not worked in between Christmas and new year for years now so I don’t mind too much, and DH is off his work in between so at least we aren’t having to organise child care.

Under normal circumstances I’d be taking full advantage of half decent TV, a mountain of chocolate and adding a Baileys to my coffee at 1pm 😁

NuffSaidSam · 19/12/2025 14:19

I like to marinate in the Christmas juices. Mainly sitting on the sofa eating chocolate. I do have a medical appointment and plans to see friends this year though so I'll only be able to marinate for a a few days after not the whole of betwixtmas.

Charlottian · 19/12/2025 14:20

Work

bleakmidwintering · 19/12/2025 14:21

I’ve got a hotel booked in the Yorkshire Dales. Then I’ve organised a small gathering one evening to play games and get drunk with friends.

Wishiwasincornwall · 19/12/2025 14:23

Working full time, caring for my terminally ill mother and my autistic son the only thing that makes it any different to any normal week is trying to fight the guilt I'm not making enough time for my daughter who is back from uni.

ExquisiteDressing · 19/12/2025 14:24

Saturday visiting family
Sunday visiting the other side of the family
Mon-Wed at work

marginallyawake · 19/12/2025 14:25

Working most days.

Hedgesgalore · 19/12/2025 14:26

Going away to West Wales, fingers crossed its drier than here so we can take the dog on the coastal path and a few beaches to blow all the cobwebs of a difficult year away.

Imperfectpolly · 19/12/2025 14:28

I'm off work from the 25th to 29th so get 5 days straight off.

Christmas day and 26th will spend mostly at home and with family.

27th to 29th - visit inlaws, enjoy time at home with DC, maybe a cinema visit. Off to check the cinema listing's now.

TheChosenTwo · 19/12/2025 14:31

We always go away for a week with dhs siblings and all partners, their kids and now grandchildren! So much bloody fun, very wholesome and always somewhere different but coastal,
walks and pub lunches by day and evenings in where people pitch in with cooking up feasts, some play games, some sit by the fire etc.
My dc are early 20’s plus a younger teen and despite the lovely abroad holidays we take them on they say this week with their cousins is their favourite holiday every year without fail.

ExquisiteDressing · 19/12/2025 14:32

Aaargh, I shouldn't have posted on this thread, I can't bear the word betwixtmas. I'll get me coat.

MyCatStoleSausages · 19/12/2025 14:35

Running, dog walks, cross stitch and eating.
