I hope for some of the days the weather is dull & grey, as it will make for a cosier time on the sofa, not getting dressed and watching movies all day with lots of mugs of tea. A whole day of not getting dressed - bliss.

I may go for a long walk some days if dry, I'll be WAH some days but it wont be busy. I may go to the gym.

I won't go anywhere near the shops for the sales - utter hell

Clean the house, visit my parents, go to the opticians, finish some odds and ends of school work, go to the gym/swimming (six weeks unlimited access for £10 at our local leisure centres!) go for walks, catch up with friends, try to coax the teenager out of his room or at least get him to clean it and do an unreasonable amount of scrolling, watching tv and napping.
My first year taking weight loss jabs so no lazy eating for me this year.

billiongulls · 19/12/2025 15:20

Eat, sleep, read, walk, swim, repeat.

Misscoffee · 19/12/2025 15:23

I`ll be doing the same as what im doing now.

twiddleit · 19/12/2025 15:24

Work! Though as a civil servant most of MN seem to think I will be doing fuck all, having taken off a week from my 15 weeks AL dreaming about my final salary pension.

None of which is true.

Lilylolamillie · 19/12/2025 15:29

Unfortunately at work. Wish I wasn’t but can’t get time off as it’s busy but at least can WFH. I’m missing meeting up with some friends who live a long way away so I’m gutted. And resentful of colleagues who’ve been allowed Christmas off despite me working every bloody Christmas for the last few years.

Sewing, sowing, tidying, gyming

  • Sewing: I have a couple of shirts to make
  • Sowing: it is traditional to sow shallot seeds on Boxing Day
  • Tidying: my office
  • Gyming: I have only just started so dont want to lose momentum
sanityisamyth · 19/12/2025 15:39

Center Parcs with friends as it’s DS’s birthday. The only thing we look forward to all year

rafeal · 19/12/2025 15:51

We’re very lucky in that both of our offices close for that period. We will walk lots with the teenagers and dog, watch films, go to the cinema, see friends but not too much, play games, eat leftovers. It’s one my favourite times of year.

Zippedydodah · 19/12/2025 15:59

Whatever I feel like! Being retired my time is largely my own so there will be dog walking, arty stuff, reading, crocheting, drawing…..😊

JuvenileBigfoot · 19/12/2025 16:16

27th at DP'S Dad's
28th a friend is visiting from Australia and is having a meet-up.
29th I'm working.
Off 30th and then working 31st and 1st so will not be celebrating NYE.
(I volunteered for the NY shifts so I can have Xmas off)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/12/2025 16:36

I'll be at work 3 days (by choice .)
If I don't get my lazy arse in gear and get out of the house it is so much more difficult in January ,

I'll still have a nice long weekend though .

StripedPillowcase · 19/12/2025 16:40

NeedWineNow · 19/12/2025 17:52

27th - in London - I need new ballet shoes then we’re going to the Chelsea game

28th - telly day eating chocs and drinking wine

29th - seeing Mum

30th - in London for the Cecil Beaton exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, late lunch then on to the Chelsea game

31st - quiet day then traditional curry with friends and seeing New Year in at theirs.

Then it will be taking deccies down and getting ready to go away on 6 January for a week’s short cruise break, so nails and hair, seeing mum and making sure she’s got enough shopping to see her through until we get back.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 19/12/2025 17:54

Hole up in the Rocky Mountains, eat too much cheese and spend too much time wondering what day it is.

Bumblefuzz · 20/12/2025 20:16

Swimming, sleeping & possibly a couple of National Trust visits.

Emmz1510 · 20/12/2025 20:26

Eating too much of all the Christmas niceties that are left, making a pie or curry from whatever turkey is left, making a steak pie for New Year which we’ll take to my dads for dinner on NY day, watching movies, catching up on whatever Christmas TV I didn’t get round to watching (Call the Midwife and Stranger Things), watching movies, I may take the tree down if the notion takes me
and have a good clean but I often leave that to the 2nd or 3rd. A few walks with my daughter if the weather is ok.

Danceparty55 · 20/12/2025 20:27

Eat, sleep, read, gentle walks, board games and more eating.

PlazaAthenee · 20/12/2025 20:27

Thatonenight · 20/12/2025 20:28

I’m trying to start a clothing brand and will be getting my samples in a few days. I’m hoping to start making my website between those dates.

CurbsideProphet · 20/12/2025 20:54

On annual leave, but have a 3 year old so won't be having a rest!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 20/12/2025 21:06
