I am going to Waitrose tomorrow. Is there anything you recommend that's different from other supermarkets.
I believe it's quite a large store so hopefully it is well stocked.

This

Our Waitrose has a 'cabinet of death' (as my family know the meat ageing cabinet). We always find ourselves drawn to it.

Rather more prosaically, their frozen sprouts are better than anyone else's.

I have a £50 JL voucher (award from work) to use. DH and I are going in this weekend to spend it.

I buy salmon slabs in there and freeze

Essential artichoke hearts just sum up waitrose in 3 words 😂

The truffle chicken Kyiv is my favourite thing from Waitrose. It’s on every order as is the essentials potato salad.

Just been in and bought the brown butter mince pies, warmed one up and enjoyed it with a cuppa, mmmm.

ChopstickNovice · 11/12/2025 16:40

Going to get the cinnamon knots tonight!

Then I wouldn't bother.

We shop in both Sainsburys and Waitrose. Branches of both are within a mile of our house. Sainsburys is noticeably better than Waitrose.

Just like John Lewis, Waitrose is not half as good as it thinks it is...

Sainsbury’s doesn’t have a deli counter. IMO that’s the best thing about Waitrose; a proper counter where you can get cheese cut whatever weight you want, olives and artichokes spoon into tubs etc.

@readingisallowedHope everything went well today! Also you must update with feedback on any goodies you found

Didntask · 11/12/2025 17:20

Their own brand yellow fabric conditioner. It's gorgeous.

Regularmumm · 11/12/2025 17:29

Great thread although I have put on two stone just reading it 🤣 Off to Waitrose this evening as we’re lucky to have one ten minutes away

Medicaladvice · 11/12/2025 17:38

Raspberry yum yums! They also have the best pain au chocolates (I think you get x2 large ones in a pack - could be from their no 1 range).

Quality Street Coffee Creams. Six quid a box and totally worth it.

GameOfJones · 11/12/2025 17:44

Our local Waitrose is miles better than Sainsbury's but I think the stores can vary quite a bit. The Henley on Thames Waitrose is rubbish in comparison and perhaps there are some nice Sainsbury's stores about!

ldnmusic87 · 11/12/2025 17:55

Cinnamon knots are lethal. I can eat a box.

ThisOldThang · 11/12/2025 17:57

Waitrose One ice-cream.

  • Dark chocolate
  • Coffee
  • White chocolate
  • Butterscotch brittle

They're all really good.

EleanorReally · 11/12/2025 18:18

Apple Crumble Danish pastry

Pant-Ys-Gawn Honey & Ginger Goats Cheese is incredible

I am always in Waitrose but have never seen that cheese. Sounds delicious, will definitely try it now.

Is Waitrose better than M&S? I fancy a trip now after all these suggestions!

I’d say they’re pretty much on the same level. You might get a discount for a Waitrose delivery being a new customer.

The Dash drinks (peach) are amazing!! @readingisallowed

Gatekeeper · 12/12/2025 06:09

I could cry reading this...my local Waitrose closed so they no longer deliver to my postcode and my nearest Booths also closed

Waaahhh

MinnieMountain · 12/12/2025 06:54

I'm going to our local one today to get more brown butter mince pies. Looks like I'll need a bigger bag...

Edited

How can Booths and Waitrose both close in the same area? There should be a law against it.

And possibly some bigger trousers Grin

Tomorrow I am hitting Waitrose armed with my £50 gift card. Unfortunately that sum is only sufficient to allow me to sniff a trolley. But I'm sure it will smell divine.
