I'm officially out of ideas. If anyone feels up to telling me what they've got , or getting for the man in their life that would be grand.
Humongous thanks in advance :)

absolutely nothing!! we gave up buying each other christmas presents about 2 years in to our relationship. it seems like a waste of time and brain power when neither of us want to own another thing and if there’s something we need we buy it at the time.
we go out for a nice posh lunch instead! much more enjoyable 😊

Homebird8 · 07/12/2025 03:45

Half an inflatable gazebo for camping. He’s getting me the other half.

Dh was wanting a specific drum and found one on eBay for a lot less than they sell new (£1500). He’s been trying to raise money selling his other kit in order to buy it before someone else buys it. Imagine his disappointment when it suddenly was sold. He keeps going on about it and how he missed out on it.

I’m the buyer…

Please keep us posted?

JustMe2026 · 07/12/2025 04:06

Ah we used to do that too, but now we’ve got a disabled child and no childcare so sadly posh meals out are a thing of the past!

Missingducks · 07/12/2025 07:33

One he asked for - a £20 rechargeable light for his shed!
A surprise - a boat trip out to a wind farm (for two, hope he takes me)
And a small Cadbury's selection box

Luckily it’s been packaged really well in a massive box so I’ll wrap it in the box. It’s in the loft currently. Dh can’t move due to his back has gone so he can’t get up to the loft.

I was actually considering not wrapping it but, after all presents have been opened, walking into the lounge with it drumming it myself as the surprise to him. However my skills don’t extend that far so in the box it goes 😂

I book an overnight somewhere on the 27th for me and DH every year.
He has, to open, a new overnight bag as the handle snapped on his last year.
A t shirt custom made for his band to wear at gigs.
Engraved plectrum from DD
Ds bought him a yoyo as DS has gotten into yoyos and DH is reliving his youth teaching ds 😂
Socks and chocolates from dc
Obligatory booze which is usually gin or selection of ales.

Warcraft expansion and a new iPad because his went missing just before his stroke a few weeks back. Wanted him to have a way to read his manga again to help him reconnect with the stuff he loved before the stroke. Considering some PT sessions at the local gym as well as a ‘daddy present’ from our newborn. Definitely a very different Christmas from the one we were planning just a few weeks back but will still be lovely!

Sorry to hear about your husband and the stroke.i hope he is recovering fast..Thanks for your post and best wishes for a lovely Christmas x

Nice list! Can I ask what a bob book is please? Oh and what records is he getting?

It’s the new bob mortimer book, not sure which one as he ordered it. Whichever has recently come out.

he can’t remember which records he got and tried to not remember. They were 3 for £66 and he got the Louis Armstrong Christmas album then apparently had loads in his basket and whittled them down to two. Sorry, no help 😂

DuchessofStaffordshire · 06/12/2025 23:25

Just checked my Amazon orders and the book wasn't a general endurance book for older men. I ordered two in fact, one called 'The midlife cyclist' and another called 'Endure: mind, body and the curiously elastic limits of human performance'. Hope that helps!

Thank you he is only 38 but will keep it in mind for his 40th! He’s very frustrated he can’t ride like he did in his early 20s!

MrsMattSantos · 07/12/2025 15:19

it’s mostly a bit same old same old for Mr Santos… there’s whisky (2 bottles) a bottle of hotel chocolat chocolate cream liqueur, a nice jumper, socks and pj bottoms. but I have got him a soda stream, as he always prefers sparkling water…

Hi, we have a local micro brewery and bar that offers a selection for £14. Might be worth looking around for similar in your area. Am in the North east
