I'm officially out of ideas. If anyone feels up to telling me what they've got , or getting for the man in their life that would be grand.
Humongous thanks in advance :)

T shirt by RSPB with birds on and tickets to see Shakespeare in March

AnnaMagnani · 06/12/2025 21:02

A DVD boxset of performances of all Mozart's operas. All 22 of them, even the ones he wrote as a child. Plus beer.

I am currently overwhelmingly smug about having bought this, especially as there was only one on eBay. He mentioned its existence to me about 10 years ago, he has no idea I've got it.

My mum, his mum and I have collectively bought what he's asked for which is a freestanding dart board with stand and accessories (surround, light, mat). We've both asked each other for specific items this year. Much easier now we have a little one, saves us having to think of surprises 🤭

NotMeNorI · 06/12/2025 22:58

We agreed to stick to six gifts this year, so mine is getting:

A selection of hats (cord caps) and a small, day-to-day bag he asked for.

Three vinyls - soundtracks from a TV show we like.

Two collectible Star Trek figures.

A Star Trek single player escape room book.

A top and necklace from his favourite video game brand (he collects items from the game).

From our toddler: A signed book by an author he likes with a big bar of choc and some flavoured mints.

However, most of this is coming from the US and hasn't arrive yet, so...

I know he really wants a large yeti but I’m not sure I can justify £100 on a thermos

BessieSurtees · 06/12/2025 23:06

Some new fishing gear.
1000 piece Jigsaw of a place he grew up.
Slippers and dressing gown as his are old.
A daybreak light as he struggles to get up early in the winter.

Fidget toy, luxury wafer rolls, cocktail nuts, an Viz annual & a worst case scenario handbook for stocking fillers.

All surprises bar the fishing stuff which he chose.

Interested in the title of this book please

Just checked my Amazon orders and the book wasn't a general endurance book for older men. I ordered two in fact, one called 'The midlife cyclist' and another called 'Endure: mind, body and the curiously elastic limits of human performance'. Hope that helps!

I l thought I would go with the traditional socks, so I’ve got him some that say “fancy a shag?” on the sole

AliasGrape · 06/12/2025 23:43

We’re just doing stockings for each other this year. Been an expensive year and there’s lots we still need for the house.

His has:
Travel size battleships game
Mini lego starwars kit, he’ll build it with DD
New tape measure
A spirit level key ring - he’s always moaning about not being able to find one
Hot sauce
Spicy chilli flavour nuts
Peanut brittle bar
His favourite shower gel
Extra thick warm socks
Licorice
Photo key ring of him and DD

I’ll also get him a few different beers - he likes to try different ones.

Previous gifts that went down well for ideas were gig tickets, a soda stream (he drinks so much sparkling water!), binoculars, a night sky/ stargazing experience, and that little credit card multi tool thing as a stocking filler which he still uses all the time.
