Here’s the link.

I know we like a nose around other peoples houses. Might need sunglasses for this one.

There was one room that looked pretty bland, maybe even disappointingly bland. Maybe that is the child's room

Or a teenager who made a stand. 🙂

Saz12 · 04/12/2025 17:32

I guess really you're paying for a walk-in, live-in piece of art, rather than a house...? I'm not artistic.
The circus tent looks really badly done. Like careless and slapdash, not childlike or whatever.
The kitchen is cheerful & homely...but not really anything special or different. IE not "art" so much as colourful.
The stairs and hallway I actually like, also the bathroom floor.

miniaturepixieonacid · 04/12/2025 17:32

I love most of it (there's the odd room that's too much even for me and everything I own is vintage-colour-hippie-clash-nightmare!) but I'd want it offered fully furnished as it is. It would take decades to build up the right collection of stuff to fit with that decor.

I wouldn't buy it at that price though. I mean, I couldn't anyway. But if I had 2 million, I would spend it on a 500K house with awesome decor. I'd spend it on a 2 million house and make it how I wanted gradually.

JaffavsCookie · 04/12/2025 17:34

God it’s fucking awful, and no it doesn’t look in the slightest well executed. Talk about bigging yourself up as an artist. Selling solitary paintings for £5k doesn’t mean one badly painted houses worth of painting is worth £1.5 mill 😳

ABeerInTheSunshineMakesMeHappy · 04/12/2025 17:36

Well, it’s got a distant sea view and I’ve always wanted to be able to see the see from my windows. But £2 million for a terrace house that I would immediately have to paint, and only has one bathroom? No thanks. I’m sure some of the artist’s work is lovely, and would look great as a canvas on a plain wall, but that would give me nightmares.

WiddlinDiddlin · 04/12/2025 17:38

Where does one get the chutzpah to self-promote, and attempt a stunt like this?

Wonder if I can save up enough to buy it, get a fancy website, get an exhibition... and then I'd probably find the pressure to produce turned me into a gibbering wreck anyway. Ho hum.

I guess if theres someone out there actually wants to buy it, good luck to her!

pigsDOfly · 04/12/2025 17:41

She's painted over some rather nice wooden floors. Shame.

Looks more like a massive ego trip than a house anyone would want to buy to live in, well certainly not for that price.

ImThePr0blem · 04/12/2025 17:42

The fact that’s it’s worth £2m is mind boggling! It’s tiny and very dark, probably explains all the colour.

My 4 year old said she loves it though so there’s that.

MayaPinion · 04/12/2025 17:50

Well I would but >something something< mansion tax. Such a shame 😜

Tbf, it does say that there are artworks and 20 pieces of furniture included.

But only one bathroom!

Interesting. Does all that art increase or decrease the value?

Is the artist anyone of note?

Is it priced as something special for the area or as something where the buyer will need to do a lot of work? I know Devon has become expensive, but £2m?

It tells you all about the artist on the link, I think it is meant as an investment - someone who wants to own it as a piece of art

Tell me you don’t like art without telling me you don’t like art 🤣

I think it’s really cool and I hope someone buys it as a piece of art, maybe opening as a local tourist attraction? I would visit!

ETA maybe not a great location for that though with the terrace houses either side 😬

I like art. I just don't like that art.

Not liking a particular type of art doesn't means that one doesn't like 'art' in general.

I prefer Tracy Emin's bed to that house. It's all very twee.

Different types of art speaks to different types of people in different ways.

Oddly enough, people have different tastes.

HappyFace2025 · 04/12/2025 18:25

I would buy it but not for £2 million nor do I want to live there. But it is joyful 🥰

diddl · 04/12/2025 18:27

I hope someone buys it as a piece of art,

Well realistically I doubt that someone would pay 2mill to then paint over what is supposedly worth 1,5mill

Staringintothevoid616 · 04/12/2025 14:24

What rancid smell? We go there loads )only live 30 min away) never noticed a rancid smell.

But that house id prob with about £400k at most. The area is struggling for housing we don’t need another house taken off the market as someone’s “art installation”!!!! At least if was open to the public it would bring in money to the local economy!

Dock can be a bit smelly. Haven't been past for a couple of years but that main road that passes nearby was often a bit stinky in the summer too. Just left an overall impression of it being a bit smelly.

AwfullyGood · 04/12/2025 18:44

It wouldn't be for me. I think even if I was given it for free, I couldn't stay in without repainting. It's just far too busy.

ChristmasMantleStatue · 04/12/2025 13:08

And there is a so-called 'mansion' according to the Government. And its not even in London.

I quite like the rooms- but the hallway and staircase are a bit much IMO.

I don't think they called it a mansion tax. It's still worth a lot of money whether it's a mansion or not. You'd need to be wealthy to own it so...

2025mustbebetter · 04/12/2025 18:56

The circus stripes in the first pic are awful, looks like a toddler did them!

PlazaAthenee · 04/12/2025 19:40

At least it has a sea view. I'd need it all repainted white and another bathroom added. The colour and patterns are too claustrophobic for me. The stairs and hall are awful.

Soduku1234 · 04/12/2025 14:41

It's awful. Just because you like, doesn't make it good.

I didn’t say whether I did or didn’t like it.
