I’ve been at Mumsnet for a long time now, over a decade actually, which is slightly terrifying. And I feel like I’ve worked more Black Friday weekend shifts than anyone should ever have to. Every year we wade through endless spreadsheets of deals to find the ones that are genuinely good. But there are always some things that really should stay on the shelf, no matter the discount.

We’ve got a team Slack chat going with some of our most ridiculous finds. Here are my favourites. Enjoy and add your own; you’ve probably seen far worse!

1. The world's furriest slippers
2. A weirdly realistic Tortilla blanket
3. A shrimp plush toy holding a tube of Pringles???

My DD loves those toys holding various snacks. They're called Snackles and she's wanting one of the Disney ones for Christmas after having collected various versions of the original ones.

I guess a Snackle is better than a shitting flamingo?😅

This was the present one of my kids wanted one year (it was the only thing most of her class was asking for) it sold out locally really quickly.
This was covid times (I think 2020?) and there were still travel restrictions. I sourced one but in Ireland (I live in Northern Ireland) and was stopped by police going over the border (I have an English car registration) asking where I was going. I had to explain that Santa had been asked for a pooping flamingo and it had been such a crappy year that kids had missed so much so I was going to collect the pooping flamingo.

The gorgeous furry slippers are out of stock. Damn.
