What's your favourite seasonal treat?

Inspired by a box of florentines I picked up in our newly opened Lidl last week.
They were in the Christmas aisle so I assume they're only available for this period.
Need to get another box or three...

A Brie and cranberry baguette with a glass of seasonal Baileys however currently pregnant and can’t have either 😭😭

Cook the Brie and eat the baguette warm. Just as good.

Irish cream O’Donnell moonshine comes alcohol free and is lovely.

Stollen!

Hell yes! I'm making some for the freezer tomorrow.

OliviaBonas · 21/11/2025 21:37

Baileys on everything throughout December 😋

Moonlightfrog · 21/11/2025 21:42

I am partial to a Greg’s mince pie

ChippySauce · 21/11/2025 22:21

My kids love Mint Matchmakers.
Again, available all year round but they only see them as a Christmas treat.

CandlesAndClementines · 21/11/2025 22:45

Can anyone recommend a yule log

I buy a chocolate Swiss roll. Inject it with alcohol, usually brandy and cover it in chocolate butter cream icing. A dust of icing sugar and throw some glacé cherries over the top

Baileys on everything throughout December 😋

My boys love a large glass of milk with a generous glug of baileys

MrsSkylerWhite · 21/11/2025 23:34

Pork pie

I like the florentines from both Lidl and Aldi. A couple of years back Aldi reduced them to 99p a box after Christmas and I bought about six boxes.

I will be hoping something similar happens after Christmas this year.

We’ve got our 10% discount and 7 days to spend it now so will be heading off to Lidl to do the same.

Our favourites are those Lebkuchen hearts but after years of buying them my boys noticed they aren’t veggie.

If anyone knows of similar that are vegetarian I’d appreciate a heads up 🙏

My boys will be thanking you on Christmas Day !

Peanuts, I don't buy them any other time.

The Co Op used to do gravy puffs at Christmas. Like cheese puffs only flavoured like the best kind of beef Monster Munch. We ate bagfuls and they were lovely.

They don't sell them any more. Bastards.

I found these. Not quite the same (they sound delicious) but might be worth a try:
