If you could have one lot of free cosmetic surgery ..

.. what would it be?

Mine would be liposuction on my legs, I’m fairly sure I have lipedema and I hate them. I’ve lost over 5st and still hate my legs, especially my thighs.

I’m not interested in any other work, can’t imagine having anything done with my face etc but would have something done with my legs in a heart beat.

Eyelid lift/upper blepharoplasty

Tiebiter · 08/11/2025 21:58

A neck lift or something like that but even free I wouldn't. I had a friend whose mum died in a routine op and I can't have a surgeon telling my family i won't be there for them for the sake of a few wrinkles.

Octavia64 · 08/11/2025 21:59

I wouldn’t

I’ve had a lot of surgery non cosmetic and I fucking hate the recovery time.

For heaven's sake.

Why not spend the money on therapy to improve your self esteem instead?

PashaMinaMio · 08/11/2025 22:01

Legs! Get my legs and cankles sorted out please.

Holluschickie · 08/11/2025 22:04

Nothing.
I can afford surgery.
I don't want it, even if free.

NormasArse · 08/11/2025 22:07

I’d have skin tags removed.

It’s a lighthearted thread. I hate my legs! I will likely never have surgery and certainly not normalising it.

Because people simply don't want therapy? Can you genuinely not come up with two brain cells to realise that?

It’s a hypothetical question and it mentions the word “free” in the OP.

Nobody is spending any real money.

TenWeeCaramelJoeys · 08/11/2025 22:11

Nothing. I’m far from perfect, but I wouldn’t have a general anaesthetic and allow my skin and flesh to be cut open just to look better. My body is doing its job.

MissyB1 · 08/11/2025 22:11

Varicose veins, they are literally a pain! But they won’t do them on the NHS in our area anymore, so would need to be private.

Kuretake · 08/11/2025 22:12

It's weird I immediately thought I'd fix my nose but actually I could afford it amd haven't done it. Not worth the risk and recovery time and I couldn't bear the message it would send my child.

If the question was that it could be done magically perfectly and nobody would remember how I used to look though! Then nose definitely. I've always hated it since I was a child.

shitshow1976 · 08/11/2025 22:12

I'm going for surgery soon, I've lost alot of weight and am having a tummy tuck with 360 lipo and a breast uplift with implants.
I work bloody hard. You can't take your money wirh you when you die and I want a body that im happy with. It may never happen but I'll try

1AnotherOne · 08/11/2025 22:12

A rhinoplasty which I’m scheduled for (NHS though due to genetic condition)

id like a tummy tuck and uplift due to weight loss. The weights stayed off for a year so far. If I keep it off another year I’ll seriously consider it. I do work in the industry so can get a huge discount which helps.

RaraRachael · 08/11/2025 22:12

Boob reduction.
Hate these monstrosities.

ninjahamster · 08/11/2025 22:14

SO much I would have done but top of the list, liposuction on my stomach.
Then the same on my thighs.
Then an eyelid lift.
Then a face lift
Then skin tag removal
then two moles removed from my face
then a neck lift

Wynndolynne · 08/11/2025 22:15

Ideally a tummy tuck and breast lift. Have lost 120lbs and need both but if only 1, a breast lift.

Friendlyfart · 08/11/2025 22:16

Years ago, a nose job, now fillers in my face as I’m starting to look old (am jn my 50s). If I could guarantee no issues afterwards.

Friendlyfart · 08/11/2025 22:17

Plus a mole removal in face but years ago a GP told me the scarring would look worse than the mole.

2GreatFatSquirrels · 08/11/2025 22:19

Honestly nothing. I’d love to have incredible hair but even surgery can’t do that

DisappointedD · 08/11/2025 22:19

This is sort of hypothetical answer I was looking for! Realistically I could probably afford to have my legs done (although never looked into the cost) but unlikely to ever actually do it.

What is rhinoplasty?

LongGinShortTonic · 08/11/2025 22:21

Lower blepharoplasty. I have such puffy eyes and they are beyond all cosmetic treatment. I’d have my ducts taken out. Saving up for it.

If OP does have lipedema, it is a recognised medical condition that no amount of therapy will cure. Compression and/or surgery is currently the only treatment available.
