Hmmm. Manchester Tart, Bread and butter pudding, apple crumble....I don't have a particularly sweet tooth and am not bothered much by cake, chocolate etc but i do love a traditional english pudding.

JulesJules · 06/11/2025 20:22

If crème brûlée is on the menu, I can't not order it.

DeanStockwell · 06/11/2025 20:28

Rhubarb crumble and custard but it gas to be really sharp firm chunks of rhubarb , not the sweet mush you tend to get .

That’s me too! Good old fashioned puds that I grew up on. Steamed puddings, milk puddings, pies and tarts etc…

SemmaLina · 06/11/2025 20:34

Creme brûlée ( went on a 14 night cruise , had it for pud 14 times )
Lemon tart
Chocolate melting middle pudding

ginasevern · 06/11/2025 20:37

Zabaione or syllabub, but I have to make it myself as you never see them on menus. Otherwise partial to a gooseberry crumble with Jersey cream or an old English cheesecake, which again I have to make myself because you only ever see the New York style ones these days. I also love kaiserschmarrn with plum compote and soured cream.

JDM625 · 06/11/2025 20:38

I tend to be seasonal in what I like and if I can get the fruit for free from my garden or MIL's orchard- even better.

-Rhubarb, apple crumble with preserved ginger
-Pear Tart Tatin
-Sticky toffee pudding
-Passionfruit tart
-Profiteroles

BCBird · 06/11/2025 20:38

Love old fashooned puddings. Read an article that states they are dying out🙄 Apple and sultana crumble with custard. Love Bakewell tart too.

MauriceTheMussel · 06/11/2025 20:39

Love me a tiramisu

Eton Mess, cherry anything

Sficky toffee for the autumn

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 06/11/2025 20:40

I have been really wanting a pudding tonight but zilch in. Have found a squashed date.

If feeling hearty then crumble with pouring cream, but it has to be sharp - with blackcurrants or rhubarb etc

lemon posset

v rich chocolate mouse

I love cake but don't really like sponge puddings, hot cake seems wrong to me

ChubbyPuffling · 06/11/2025 20:42

Old fashioned "kids" trifle... sponge, jelly, tinned fruit cocktail, set custard and dream topping. With sprinkles.

Or jelly cream... cool jelly, before it sets, whisked into a tin of carnation evap milk.

Or blancmange. Strawberry. Or chocolate.

I see a theme.

Gottocopebymyself · 06/11/2025 20:42
