How to put weight on as quick as possible?

Sorry if this isn't the right place for this but I didn't think the weight loss board was right really. And please don't accuse me of stealth bragging because I'm really not. So I'm 5'7 and weigh 8st10lb. BMI of 19. I wear a size 6 clothing and honestly I hate the way I look. I feel like I look too skinny and I don't think it's a good look at all. When I was younger I was a very healthy size 10 and when I see pics from back then I can see that I just looked so much better overall. Since having my lovely DS 3 years ago I ended up with an overactive thyroid which causes unintentional weight loss and that's when I went from an 8 to a 6. But my thyroid is fine now and though I do eat, and not even eat healthy, I can't seem to put weight on. My appetite since having my son has took a major nosedive and I have to basically force myself to eat because I know if I don't I'll just get even thinner😬 can anyone who's been in a similar situation or knows about this kind of thing please recommend some things I should eat to help with putting on the weight. So as not to drip feed, I'm a very heavy smoker and drink a shed load of tea/coffee a day and definitely do not exercise 😅 TIA for any help at all😊

Chocolate is good for high calories in a small amount of food.

Course you have. OP you have an answer to everything, but any doctor or intelligent 10 year old could tell you that the smoking and excessive caffeine consumption will be having a huge huge huge impact on your health. But you’ve said you can cut down on both, which begs the question…why don’t you?

It’s obvious you don’t get hungry because the cancer sticks suppress your appetite and you must be bloated (I don’t care what you say) due to taking in so much fluid. Even thirty mugs of water would fill you up and suppress the need for food. But the fact that it’s tea and coffee will exacerbate so many health issues. Tea stops iron being absorbed, so you’re likely to suffer from low iron. The caffeine will keep you up, hence the insomnia. This is really basic stuff.

The advice here is fair enough as you’ve asked to put on weight but stuffing your face with ice-cream, burgers, M&Ms, peanut butter and pizza is going to make you feel more shit and won’t do anything for the bloating and pain.

Have 10 cups of tea a day and stop the fags. By Christmas you will put on half a stone.

I find it quite unbelievable that you won't quit smoking for the sake of your son. Don't you want to be around for him? At this rate you won't make it to see his twenties.

You are consuming around 7500 ml fluid a day which is incredibly dangerous. You are at risk of developing hyponatremia which if left untreated could lead to seizures, swelling of the brain and death. You are literally drowning yourself.

That’s without the rest of your ‘lifestyle choices’.

Thank you so much for this. Finally someone who understands. You were a size 6 at 5'2, imagine how much worse it looks on a 5'7 frame. If I'd came on asking about losing weight, you're right, I'd have been applauded. Apparently not wanting to be skinny is a moral failing 😂

I'm 5'7 and 9 stones and I'm a size 10-12.. so trying to figure out how it's possible that we're about the same height and weight but so far away in size🤔

I'm broad shouldered and have zero fat on me. Are you questioning if I'm lying?

Also, throughout my 20's I weighed 9st 4 and was a curvy size 10. How you carry weight has a bearing on how it looks

Ensure compact four times a day.
Loads of chocolate and cakes and biscuits.
Peanut and other nut butters and nuts.
Porridge with cream, dried fruit and thick bread with butter.
Ice-cream, cream, full fat yoghurt with honey.
Big portions hearty things like stew with meat, veg and potatoes or a roast.
Sandwiches with tuna, chicken, avocado, mayo like baguettes or ciabata or panini.
Pasta and pizza with garlic bread or dough balls.
Chips, potato waffles, mash with butter and cream, hash browns.
Dressings with olive oil and mayo and cheese
Carby veg like carrots, beetroot, squash, sweet potato, sweetcorn.
Bacon, sausage and egg baps.
Crumpets with butter and jam, or scones with jam and cream.
Hummus, tarama, babaghanoush, guacamole, whipped feta with flatbread and crudités.
Guinness.

Sorry for your troubles. I know people who take anti psychotic medication and it really does make them gain weight. Can't do the full fat milk because of dairy sensitivity but cheese and mayo I can definitely do 😁

I am your twin! I only do 2 ridiculously strong coffees per day though. I hate not being able to eat dairy but I buy coconut combo (dairy free cream) from Ocado and have that with their berry pie. Try it, it’s gorgeous.

I lost 3 stone very quickly at the beginning of my thyroid problems and am just starting to put it back on, It made me look horrible, particularly in my face, so gaunt.

The same method in part as trying to lose weight. Work out your daily needed calories and eat more. If you're struggling to eat maybe just add on 100 cals a day then increase.
Go for calorie dense foods if volume is a problem. 3 meals a day and x 2 snacks.
