Yes I get that now. I thought he looked weird at the time. How wrong I was.

The young David Soul was spectacular before he self destructed.

Uricon2 · 01/11/2025 20:00

James Mason. Born 1909. Gorgeous.

bumptybum · 01/11/2025 20:01

Tom Selleck! I thought he was hairy and hated the whole moustache. Now I can see with my adult eyes that he was hot! And Jon Bon Jovi. All I saw in the day was hair and a style of music I didn’t like

Edited

My 16 yr old self always appreciated James Mason.

A young David Attenborough Blush
Yes, I know he isn't an actor.

Silverbirchleaf · 01/11/2025 20:06

Paul Newman, in ‘The Long Hot Sumner’, which I think was his breakout movie.

Radionowhere · 01/11/2025 20:08

Never saw the appeal of Robert Redford until quite recently. Preferred Paul Newman 😆

Oh yes, he was exquisite wasn’t he, those cheekbones. He was always middle aged in my young 70s eyes.
Aware that I shouldn’t be talking of Sir DA in the past tense!

The dad from twilight

SquashPenguin · 01/11/2025 20:19

Christopher Plummer in Sound Of Music. As a kid he was just Captain Von Trapp. I remember asking my mum when I was a lot older if he had always been that good looking 😆

Arlanymor · 01/11/2025 20:20

Alan Bates as Gabriel Oak. I thought he was 'a very nice man' at the time. I rewatched FFTMC recently and BAM! Those eyes, that earnestness...

Arlanymor · 01/11/2025 20:21

Image for context... also pleasingly 'field fresh'...

Jerry Orbach - Dr Houseman in Dirty Dancing. I can see why Baby's mother was always so giggly and girly.

Beekman · 01/11/2025 20:26

Joe Biden pre-balding

Bigtitsbettyforgotherpassword · 01/11/2025 20:28

Not an actor but Brett Anderson from Suede.

CaptainCallisto · 01/11/2025 20:34

Dennis Quaid in the 90s - particularly in The Parent Trap. That was one of my comfort movies as a teen, and as far as I was concerned, he was just the dad. I watched it with my own DCs a few weeks ago, and I couldn't believe how hot he was!

CalzoneOnLegs · 01/11/2025 20:37

@Arlanymor one of my all time favourite films, Julie Christie and Terence Stamp also stunning

CalzoneOnLegs · 01/11/2025 20:38

Tony Curtis

CurlewKate · 01/11/2025 20:39

Robert Redford. Considering my previous reference to David Soul, I might have a type.

Ooh yes!
And pesky Troy is so unappealing

Entirely! Never understood that! (Although that scene with the coffin got me - oh he is human after all).

Weirdly that film is currently on my telly being watched for the umpteenth time by DD. Agree!
