I’ve a twelve year old daughter, seven year old nephew, and nine year old niece and they won’t stop chanting it and moving their hands up and down! Does anyone know what the fuck this means and why there’s such a craze with it?

My oldest told me a drugs reference. If you have more than 6 or 7 grams of cocaine they can charge you with intent to supply. That's why they do the balancing scale arms. I'd probably encourage a child to stop doing it.

Isn't it about a basketballer who was 6 foot 7? It's just a silly kids thing, very normal for kids and teens to think they're super clever and invent a new cultural touch point for themselves. I am interested as to why this one has such universal appeal but leave them to it.

It will die away eventually, I haven't said Wasssssuppp or "your mum" since about 2004.

If you look at the periodic table 67 is Ho, short for holmium. I’ve no idea if Ho is what it’s meant to be or not 🤷‍♀️
Luckily my kids are not into the trend lol.

Im tempted to remind him of 5 years ago when him and his mates said stupid meaningless things because they thought it was “cool” 🤣

It’s a fad. It’s passing anyway: my 14 year old rolls his eyes, sighs and says it’s old now. If his 11 year old brother says it , he responds with “ bruh”..

It’s stupid and the kids will move on in 6 months but they’re all doing it. It’s not drugs, knives, sex or guns, just kids being daft.

It’s to do with a basketball player meme and is meaningless. I think it’s scary how much my 7yo is shocked when he sees 6 and 7 next to each other eg in a row of birthday balloons- he’s like “oh look!! 6 7!!!!!” And I’m like “ummm yeah? Theyre next to each other all the bloody time you little twit!”

This too shall pass- like skibidi and sigma. It’s sigma now but shall be skibidi soon enough.

Ive started doing it before them which has made it distinctly uncool. They complained I’ve ruined the fun. No fun if the boring adults do it too.

OP ask them if they would 6/7 grapes (or whatever) and do the gesture to them. They will groan, be embarrassed and hopefully then stop.

Granted my Dcs stopped saying it the second I took it up. No longer cool apparently when their mum does it.

As a teacher I can tell you that there is one of these every year and there always has been. This too shall pass. Remind them of it’s in 5 years time.

My son has been doing this too - he said it's a song he picked up from Roblox and it's a rap about a 6ft7 tall basketball player and now it has gone viral on youtube.

I also heard a kid in Aldi chanting this a few days ago.

I don't think the average 12 year and under group is intentionally singing about drugs.

I find this trend hilarious because of all the “hidden” meanings. Ask 10 kids and they’ll tell you it means something different, with half of them actually having no idea what it is , just that it’s the “in” thing. Then you have all the threads and newspaper articles analysing the meaning behind , some in fairly alarmist fashion.
