Aaaaargh yes, I feel your pain. We banned it at the dinner table. Inspired by them telling us their teachers had banned it at school 😁

What is it,I've genuinely no idea?

Needmorelego · 24/09/2025 21:41

It's not just a boy thing.
I asked my daughter what it actually means.
She says no one knows and that's what makes it oh so hilarious 🙄

Furgal · 24/09/2025 21:41

What is that about then? ( I don't have a teenager to ask)

Plinketyplonks · 24/09/2025 21:43

It’s on my kids primary, they’re seven and ten. They both think it’s very funny and say it in a kind of silly way they all pronounce it the same! It doesn’t mean anything

codenamelister · 24/09/2025 21:43

Not just teenagers! My dc are all saying it, youngest is 9. Kids at school where I work ages 9-11 also saying it. I have no idea what it’s referring to but I wish it would go away!

unlikelychump · 24/09/2025 21:47

One of mine said it due to the height of a basketball player... 🙃

It’s nothing. Absolute drivel. It’s scary how quickly something so inane spreads like wild fire because of sodding TikTok.

Yes mine too, 8 and 10

TheJaneyB · 24/09/2025 22:10

The best way to stop them doing it is to start doing it yourself. Cured mine of it within a week! Make it cringe.

It’s basically just them saying “6 7” randomly, as far as I can tell!

Yeah but the way they intonate the words, like “good boy” is what makes it so annoying. It’s basically replaced them saying good boy all the time. 😬🫣

I had to look this up on tinternet yesterday when my 8yo came home frustrated that he didn't know why everyone was saying it at school. He was relieved to discover it meant nothing and we all could say it too!

limescale · 24/09/2025 22:34

I haven't heard my 16 yo son say it. It sounds like he's maybe too old for the fad?
I WILL NOT be asking him!

noblegiraffe · 24/09/2025 22:41

Yes, try being a maths teacher. Ok the answer is 6/7s "LOOK EVERYONE IT'S 6 7"

Question 2 is 68 "SO CLOSE TO 6 7"

Dear god shut up.

dumberthanaboxofrocks · 24/09/2025 22:42

It’s a thing, yeah, there was a collective punishment in maths the other day cos, well you can guess. At least it’s not bloody skibbidi.

Perpetuallywondering · 24/09/2025 22:46

Yes - both my primary child and my secondary one. Very funny listening to them explaining its origins to each other though - neither of them understands it but both were adamant the other is wrong 😑 Joy!!

Haveaproperty · 24/09/2025 22:48

To stop this, I just said it over and over to every question my son asked me, I answered 6 seeeven. And then he just stopped saying it to me after that. This method took one evening to conplete. Recommend.

MrsFrumble · 24/09/2025 22:50

My kids (14 and 12) say it and we’re in the USA! Sodding brain rot is international 😬

Apparently DD’s algebra class is a nightmare because whenever the teacher says the numbers together the kids all cheer. The teacher must have the patience of a saint.
