To not understand the whole "6 7" thing and to feel uneasy about it

Could anyone explain it please? I feel about 100 and I'm a bit worried it's something my kids shouldn't know about - or maybe I should?

Its just a stupid fad. My 14 yo just rolls his eyes because he is fed up of it, but my youngest who started Yr 7 in sept is always saying it playing fortnite or some other game with his friends from school.

Pollqueen · 22/10/2025 14:37

It means nothing, literally

VikaOlson · 22/10/2025 14:37

It's totally meaningless and the kids don't know if it means anything either. They just say it because everyone else does.

Donotgogentle · 22/10/2025 14:38

It’s an improvement on “Massive - I’ll tell you what else is massive, a low taper fade”. At least that fad has blown over.

noidea69 · 22/10/2025 14:43

I like how you gone with "I dont understand it" and therefore "feel unneasy"

It's just a stupid thing kids are saying copying off an online trend.

Did everyone going "Whassup" back in 1999 make you feel unneasy too, as its really nothing more than that.

Helpwithdivorce · 22/10/2025 14:44

It is quite literally meaningless. Just something silly kids say

Whatafustercluck · 22/10/2025 14:45

I thought it was a Roblox thing.

phantomofthepopera · 22/10/2025 14:46

Add it to the list of bollocks that kids seem to find hilarious but make zero sense - the John Pork lore, bombardino crocodilo, loooow taaaaaaper faaade, etc. Teens can be fucking idiots.

TheNightingalesStarling · 22/10/2025 14:47

Its the a common height of a basketball player, that name it into a Rap song, that then became a meme before becoming a meaningless saying.

Its a benign one.

I think we have kids of the same age. Bombardino crocodilo is another annoying one.

BadWoIf · 22/10/2025 14:51

I expect you feel uneasy because it's similar to 69 and obviously that isn't somethng you'd want to hear kkids giggling about. But according to my tween, it's just a meme that's come about because of discussion about basketball player heights and now it livens up her maths lessons because all the boys start cheering whenever 6 and 7 appear together.

DiscoBob · 22/10/2025 14:51

I saw the south park episode and just though kids are getting dumber by the day!?

Toottooot · 22/10/2025 14:51

What the sigma?

BadgernTheGarden · 22/10/2025 14:54

Showing my age. Pinch, punch first day of the month and no returns. Painful as well as truly annoying. At least 6, 7 is pretty benign, just infuriating. This too will pass.

Ponoka7 · 22/10/2025 14:54

It's a brain rot trend. It needs to do one, along with ballerina cappuccino. It is banned in my GCs classrooms.

BadgernTheGarden · 22/10/2025 14:54

Toottooot · 22/10/2025 14:51

Think alpha with bells on. Good, excellent, the best, alpha male, etc.

MotherofPufflings · 22/10/2025 14:57

In and of itself it's no big deal, kids have always done things like this. However, I think it demonstrates how incredibly powerful social contagion is and how social media has supercharged that phenomenon.

has it though because shit like this went round when I was at school and there was no social media

quiteathome · 22/10/2025 15:01

I just say it to annoy the teens. It really annoys them when you use their slang.

I quite enjoy shouting 6-7 6-7 when those are the scores on strictly. It means nothing

Tiswa · 22/10/2025 15:08

I think the whole point is it means nothing but only the kids know that and the adults are confused and that is what they find funny.

like a lot of things I think it has gone from DS age range (13) and is working its way down the ages

it is better than hawk tuah which was a sexual innuendo

caringcarer · 22/10/2025 15:09

The sheep say it.

everychildmatters · 22/10/2025 15:10

I've read it's a code for "ho". Don't know how true that is!

DisturbedSleep · 22/10/2025 15:11

My child came home asking about it, after his teacher told his class that Tiktok is nonsense, and they shouldn't be watching it. He's five.

Cue lots of questions 'what is TikTok?', 'what does six seven mean?', 'why is everyone doing this action with their hands when they say it?'

Ctmoc · 22/10/2025 15:12

Kids forever have said silly, annoying, nonsensical catchphrases and random words that are in trend, sometimes for ridiculous reasons. It’s harmless from edits on social media.
