Love, hate, or indifferent?

My sister really loves them but I don't.
She tries to convert me every time but I remain unmoved.
Am I missing something? 😄

They need to be well done, toasted twice IMO. Buttered when very hot. I also like them with melted cheese and scrambled eggs.

EerieDecoration · 21/10/2025 18:36

Warburton’s toasted twice, butter and marmite. Or cheese spread / melted cheese. Never sweet toppings. Mmmmm.

BaronessBomburst · 21/10/2025 18:39

Toasted twice and lashings of butter as PP, but topped with a poached egg.

SliceofTosst · 21/10/2025 18:40

Love. Agree, well done with shit loads of decent butter.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 21/10/2025 18:40

Food of the gods IF the top and bottom are properly toasted. Ideally with copious butter, and possibly a smidge of marmite.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 21/10/2025 18:40

Toasted till they get the crunch, real butter, then topping to suit.

BaronessBomburst · 21/10/2025 18:41

Actually melted cheese, Marmite, and scrambled eggs would all be perfectly acceptable too.
I've found my people!

CoastalCalm · 21/10/2025 18:41

Yep most people don’t get them toasted enough and they’re spongy and awful like that - double toasted one with butter and marmite and one with butter honey and maldon

Hurumphh · 21/10/2025 18:42

Toasted one and a half times so they’re hot inside but not crispy on the outside, and always with lashings of butter and either golden syrup or honey with a hot cup of tea or coffee! Yum.

SprayWhiteDung · 21/10/2025 18:43

They're delicious. You just have to make sure, if you think you've used way too much butter, that you need about the same amount twice again!

notacooldad · 21/10/2025 18:45

I love them straight out of the toaster with either raspberry jam or golden syrup.

BitSilly · 21/10/2025 18:53

See, I like all of these suggestions but on English muffins!
Am I a wrong 'un? 🤭

I can take or leave them.

TheTecknician · 21/10/2025 19:08

I don't love them but I do like them plenty and often have them in. I bought a pack of nine Warburton's from Morrison's for 60p last week. Still in the freezer.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 21/10/2025 19:08

Love them just toasted with butter. Just an occasional treat now though, along with fresh jam doughnuts - waistbands have been getting too tight and I refuse to buy a size bigger jeans…

TheDenimPoet · 21/10/2025 19:10

I love crumpets but they have to be double toasted and crunchy, with plenty of butter.. and possibly another topping as well.

gingercat02 · 21/10/2025 19:11

Yep, only Warbies, really well toasted, actually crunchy with LOTS of good salted butter

Crumpets and Muffins both really lovely, and don’t forget a toasted tea cake 😋 and oh scotch pancakes too!!

BaronessBomburst · 21/10/2025 19:12

Now you need blue cheese toasted on an English muffin. Stilton is best.

OdeToTheNorthWestWind · 21/10/2025 19:24

I'm with you @BitSilly !

landlordhell · 21/10/2025 19:28

Dislike butter so I have mine toasted with cream cheese( Philly ) and marmite. Divine.

Mydogisagentleman · 21/10/2025 19:32

Food of the gods..
My usually lovely DH got crumpet thins for me by mistake.
He was not popular

dontforgetme · 21/10/2025 19:38

Oh god I fucking love them. Toasted twice with butter and jam please!

DogTiredAllTheTime · 21/10/2025 19:39

Butter and jam

cannot be savoury toppings - away with you!

BooseysMom · 21/10/2025 19:44

Yes, the food of gods 100%. DH always calls them pikelets but aren't they square and not round like crumpets?
