Reed Diffusers That Actually, Properly, Really Scent A Room?

Usually I'm happy with The White Company ones, but I think they've changed the formula because their 'throw' is nowhere near as good anymore. Are the Valentte ones any good? Or please recommend your favourite.

I get my diffusers from Next. They last for ages

DinoLil · 02/10/2025 18:50

I bought a £6 Morrisons one this week, its vanilla and something. I've put it in my largish bathroom and it smells lovely. Not over powering, just subtle and natural.

We have a couple from here. We went to Ortigia on holiday and the apartment had lots of their products. Bought one from the actual shop there, but have ordered refills since. 1 big bottle lasts ages, though not especially cheap.

The Hotel range from Aldi are surprisingly good.

Arran Sense of Scotland After The Rain. Beautiful and last for ages.

Fellontheground · 02/10/2025 20:45

Second Aery, last forever too.

DumpedByText · 02/10/2025 21:10

I used to love Valentte they smelt amazing, but the last year they've smelt of nothing so given up on them.

The last lot I bought were from Devon Wick and they are quite good. I like Next ones as well.

Dr. Vranjes. I was given one as a present and put it in my hallway. Everyone commented on how it smelt and also noticed when it had run out (it lasted almost a year). I can’t bring myself to pay for another one as I’m too mean but I do definitely recommend it.

I was at my cousin's recently and she had one of these - absolutely gorgeous. She has a large house and it was in the hallway, it threw really well.

Voya - African Lime and Clove

I bought this at a spa a few years ago after walking into the reception and smelling it in the room - absolutely gorgeous fragrance, and marvellous scent throw. It's one of my rare spontaneous must-buy-now purchases.

My other favourite is Dr Vranjes, which were dotted around our Airbnb in Italy a few years ago. Expensive but astonishing scent throw and beautiful fragrances.

Ortegia is lovely. I bought one in their sale.

Valentte smell pleasant, but last a very very short time. The reviews on their website are positive, but if you look on Trust Pilot, it’s a different story.

That’s because negative reviews on their website are removed.
Their initial offer diffusers are good though don’t last very long. Their other diffusers I found very weak. Their marketing is good, scents sound wonderful and draws people in but ultimately I was disappointed.

StressedEric · 02/10/2025 21:19

Maison Margiela last for 6 months and have good throw

Tygertiger · 02/10/2025 21:23

M&S ones in the brown bottles are good.

Johaanah · 02/10/2025 21:26

Very expensive but… I have a Diptyque Baies diffuser and it’s been going strong since I got it last Christmas, it’s huge and more like a cute vase than the general diffuser style. You can definitely smell it strongly.

JLbaby · 02/10/2025 21:26

True Grace are lovely and good throw. Lots of different options too.

EachandEveryone · 02/10/2025 21:27

I can’t beleive the prices of some of these. £70 for 100mls.

Came to say exactly that. Bought one a few weeks ago and the smell was so strong I had to take some of the reeds out.

Great timing. I read the whole thread certain someone else would recommend these as honestly it is amazing!

Which scents please Dr Vranjes lovers? I am very very close to ordering some!

AmyFFismyhomegirl · 02/10/2025 21:56

Ii have the habitat ones from Sainsbury's and I love the tomato plant and spa ones. They scent hallway and bedroom well if you turn the reeds every week.

reversegear · 02/10/2025 21:57

Neom for me always fill a room.

Oh fabulous! I'm also inspired by this thread to think about an early Christmas present to myself Grin

I love Rosso Nobile and Oud Nobile. Rosso Nobile was my first experience of Dr Vranjes, and it's probably my favourite.

I'd like to try Fuoco or Giglio di Firenze next, I think.

Enjoy choosing - report back if you order! Grin
