The Rockies

The Peak District

A surprisingly gorgeous holiday in Jersey which felt like we’d time travelled - so chilled out and sunny and beautiful.

and a holiday split between EuropaPark and some beautiful parts of eastern France (Colmar, the wine route) and Germany. Ticked lots of boxes and didn’t feel swamped by English tourists.

A road/train trip from New Orleans to Chicago up the Mississippi taking in all the delta blues sites, Nashville (for a total eclipse) and Memphis. I absolutely loved it and would love to go back, but age and the political situation makes it unlikely Sad

Ive been lucky enough to have been to many amazing places, including New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, and various parts of America. But my best holiday ever was actually 20 years ago, on a cheap last minute deal to a quiet village in Corfu, just dh and I, staying in a small basic studio. Probably our cheapest holiday ever, but also our best.

TeenToTwenties · 29/09/2025 09:07

Anywhere I went in my 20s.

Backpacking round SE Asia, Central America, Greek islands on a moped with my BF, first time I went to the Maldives.

I’ve been on many fancier holidays since but still look back to those. I’m not sure if it’s me that’s changed or the world or both, but it’s hard to get that feeling back. God I sound old!!

Staying in a beautiful beach cottage in Cape Cod. One night, DH and I sat outside on the deck, drinking coffee and watching the 4th of July fireworks explode overhead and it was just so magical.

We ate amazing seafood every day, walked along pristine beaches and caught a boat out to see dozens of Fin Whales.

We finished off by spending 5 days in beautiful Boston staying at the 5* The Newbury which is now my all time favourite hotel.
