Taxes optional but greatly appreciated.

Feathers are ruffled this morning.

Love Tolkien

So I see. Blimey.

I wish Lammy hadn't said that about Hitler Youth, though. He really does himself no favours at times.

DuncinToffee · 01/10/2025 10:22

I am sure Farage has said worse about Lammy. It's not even anything new as that teacher letter has been doing the rounds for years.

But yes better to focus on Farage's racist policies

They take the piss out of David Lammy for good reason on Dead Ringers. This is also the reason that he’s no longer Foreign Secretary imo

Notonthestairs · 01/10/2025 10:26

I somehow managed to get through my school days without any teachers expressing concerns that I was racist. Remarkable really.

I suppose it was better not to further stoke Farage's politics of aggrievement. A bit of distraction from the meat of the Reform policy announcement.

That rather misses out the people who think they can benefit from rolling back employment protections or who are excited by fracking etc etc.

It would need rolling commentary to fit everything in.

Given THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE it's quite amusing how few people there are who remember their support for Brexit.

Shades of the legend than in 1974 you couldn't find a Nixon voter in the US.

Reform need to be nailed to the Brexit mast, and then lets see how far they fly.

What is Reforms take on Brexit, by the way ? It's not that I don't know. It's much more that they don't. And if the media allow them, they never will.

I'm intrigued by the 1% surveyed who, as Reform voters, think the policies of Reform aren't racist but the voters are...

This is fascinating.

I'm most interested by the mealy mouthed Labour voters who are even scared to say what they really think to an anonymous survey (known research problem by the way!)

Piggywaspushed · 01/10/2025 11:25

I am more than happy that Lammy said what he did.

People need to speak out. As a person of colour he has more than adequate experience to identify racism and xenophobia on the march.

I frequently lie on surveys. It make time pass. It also gives me 100% proof that you can't trust surveys.

It may shock some people to learn that I use a random word for my Mothers maiden name too.

£122 million incoming to government. I wonder if this was budgeted for or is a nice surprise ?

Is that the Mone money?

Is that the Mone money?

Indeed. Since it was the result of a court action which wasn't decided, it presumably wasn't included in "income" when the sums were being done.

£122 million is serious wonga.

Notonthestairs · 01/10/2025 12:09

Haven’t PPE Medpro just so happened to have appointed an administrator this week?

I’d like to think the money is coming back.

Are there criminal charges in tandem ?

Notonthestairs · 01/10/2025 12:20

The National Crime Agency was investigating at one point I think - fraud by false representation & conspiracy to fraud. But I dont know whether charges have been made.

Notonthestairs · 01/10/2025 12:24

Let’s hope they can prove criminal activity.
It’s more than 122 million - transport costs etc are another 8.

Mone’s complaints are outstanding!

I wish he had been more precise. Instead of saying Farage flirted with the Hitler Youth, he should have said that his school raised concerns about xyz.

No one is surprised by this jane!

But, actaully what I meant was the people who lie because they want to give the 'right' answer, even when no one is looking! I suspect Sir Keir would come under this category. I bet he'd never do a Gordon Brown.
