Chance of a general election next year and Reform winning?

1000 replies

Confused78 · 25/09/2025 21:50

They are winning in the polls it seems. I've been watching Nigel Farage's Instagram, he really just talks common sense. I find myself agreeing with a lot of what he says.
I'm definitely not far right and I'm not a leftie,
I think I'm somewhere in the middle.
But I am sick of Conservative and Labour and think it's time to give a new party a chance, especially if they are going to properly tackle illegal immigrants coming over and the ones that are already here.
I don't necessarily agree with his call to deport those with Indefinite leave to remain however.

Labour playbook. Desperate and judging by their own standards.

How many female PMs have Labour had?
ZERO

How many people of colour / Ethnic minority PMs has Labour had?
ZERO

Why is that? Because they’re a deeply misogynistic and racist party. And they know it.

In contrast

The Conservatives have had 3 female PMs.

The Conservatives have had 1 PM of colour.

Labour have never had a female PM or an ethnic minority PM. Why have Labour never had a female PM or an ethnic minority PM?

Because Labour are a misogynistic and racist party. That’s why they so easily jump to shouts of racism at others. Though you never hear them cry misogyny which is peculiar really. Or not really when they’re so mired in it they don’t even think about it.

Labour are also antisemitic. But they don’t seem to deny that much really. Almost as if they think it’s acceptable. Actually I think DA / JC said as much.

Bloody awful party. With not a leg to stand on in terms of protecting women and girls, and poc. Lammy is a token and it shows. No. Surprises Starmer wants tax dodger AR back, she’s actually one of the few of them with a brain.

Labour in 2024 had 190 women MPs and 66 MPs from ethnic minorities.
Not too bad I'd suggest.

Reform since the 2024 election have had in total 7 MPs. 6 white middle aged men and 1 white middle aged woman.

Do you honestly think that Reform are going to make your life better? Do you not see that they will most certainly make it even worse? I get that you don't like Labour, and I get that you want them out. But Reform? Really?

Nigel Farage has done nothing but cause trouble for this country. He isn't going to make the life of us ordinary people any better. He doesn't give a shit about us. Brexit didn't exactly end well, did it? He's threatening to get rid of the NHS and replace it with an insurance scheme. He wants to get rid of the Equalities Act. I mean, think about that. Seriously, please think of what that might mean for you and your children.

If Reform are the only party with a chance of removing Labour from office, who else should the pp vote for?
I'd vote for next door's dog if I thought he could get rid of Starmer and co. Let's all hope the tories have got their act together in time for the next election.

I stand with Twisty.

All day.

Same

Labour can’t fck us over all day long (is that what they meant when they said ‘tread lightly on your lives’? Or did that just mean ’Our’ Lives, not my life? Much like Bridget Phillipson only meant Labour cared for ‘Our’ Children, not my children?), and expect us to give a shit about society spongers.

So yeah. No more money from me for Labour to spaff up the wall.

Thanks for the MP info, though it’s not what I was asking. And now you mention it, given they’ve got so many MPs of both, even more shocking when one sees they’ve never had a PM of either. Isn’t it?

Absentosaur · 01/10/2025 22:03

Speaking for the first time after Keir Starmer and Nigel Farage traded blows over immigration during Labour’s conference week, the Conservative leader said: “I think that they are both as bad as each other. They are both squabbling like children; the country needs the grown-ups back in the room. We are the grown-ups.”

Excellent from Kemi Badenoch and the Conservatives. 👏🏻

(Female And black Shadow Conservative PM, who Keir Starmer the Labour PM talks down to at every opportunity)

It's no secret that Kemi Badenoch is an embarrassment to the main opposition party - the Tories.

Did Starmer tell you to think that?

He's not the PM. Starmer is.

I mean your claim you don’t see u turns as bad. Did you think the same for the last gov?

I don’t see them as bad when they are in response to changing circumstances. When it’s just a new leader doing something they’ve decided fir reasons nobody can fathom, not so much

Northquit · 01/10/2025 16:18

Labour?

They said they'd grow the economy. Everything they have done is punishing business.

And yet growth would be in the middle of the pack if we were still in the EU…

Yes, it's a pity Corbyn didn't bother campaigning to Remain. Might have made a difference. He was against the EU though, and clearly conflicted about whether to support Brexit or Remain.

Cameron campaigned pretty hard to Remain. Johnson supported Brexit , but wasn't a party leader at the time.

@JohnWickAteMyHamster I don't actually know what their other policies are as it's constantly about immigration

This is terrifying. "I don't know what their policies are but I wonder if there is a general election next year so I can vote for them and help them win". Jesus wept.

Serpentstooth · 02/10/2025 06:47

Don't worry, @Confused78, Reform has one policy - kick em all out - and relies on that stunning level of ignorance displayed for support. The less you know, the more welcome you'll be.

Kemi Badenoch is brilliant. A breath of fresh air in politics.

I like her ideas, and I love that she thinks them properly. (Unlike Labour, who seem to jump on whatever last flitted through their social media feed).

She isn't a firebrand in PMQ, but I'd rather have a thoughtful, capable political leader than a firebrand orator. And actually, I enjoy her low-key humour and refreshing honesty.

She certainly won't be leader of the Tories by the next election - which won't be next year.

It’s Starmer facing criticism from his own party rn. Maybe they feel the same about him.

She certainly won't be leader of the Tories by the next election - which won't be next year.

She's said herself that turning the Conservative party around in one term is a huge ask. I don't think that's any reason for her to lose her leadership. The Conservatives are the grown-ups, after all.

https://www.politico.eu/article/kemi-badenoch-uk-conservative-party/

I very much hope that she'll be PM: maybe not in 4 years time (although 4 years is a long time in politics as everyone keeps saying, so it's possible) but certainly in the following election.

I’m ‘turning around a distressed asset,’ says Kemi Badenoch

Conservative leader insists her party should “hold its nerve” amid plunging poll ratings and defections.

Yep agree on this. Starmer is all fluster and bullying in PMQs but it doesn’t help, his popularity goes down each week. He’s the least popular PM now since the 70s. Mn is the last place to defend him.

Aw bless you. I mean you are getting hyperbolic at the mere thought of a Reform government in 4 years which may not even happen. If you are like this now what are you going to be like in 4 years?
I'm dealing with the reality of a Labour government now.
So who is the one struggling with their mental health?
