Chance of a general election next year and Reform winning?

1000 replies

Confused78 · 25/09/2025 21:50

They are winning in the polls it seems. I've been watching Nigel Farage's Instagram, he really just talks common sense. I find myself agreeing with a lot of what he says.
I'm definitely not far right and I'm not a leftie,
I think I'm somewhere in the middle.
But I am sick of Conservative and Labour and think it's time to give a new party a chance, especially if they are going to properly tackle illegal immigrants coming over and the ones that are already here.
I don't necessarily agree with his call to deport those with Indefinite leave to remain however.

The 11 Labour councillors suspended in February?

Compare and contrast.

You think Labour are shit. That's fine. I think Reform are far shittier.

And we haven't to go back 57 years for this lot.

How many councillors has Reform UK lost since May?

A regularly updated list of all the local councillors that Reform UK has shed from the May local elections.

How many councillors has Reform UK lost since May?

Out of 874. Roughly 3% of their elected officials already lost, since May. Some suspended, some just left, unprepared to actually be councillors, or because they fell out with their colleagues.

And two MPs from the original five elected.

You want to talk about MPs who have gone:
Anti corruption minister
Homeless minister
Deputy PM
Andrew Gwynne
Louise Haigh

My point stands. Labour have got no leg to stand on when it comes to a moral superiority over any other party. Yet they still claim it, as do their supporters.

Some of those are ministers who have lost their ministerial position. NOT MPs who have gone. Do you understand the difference?

So Reform have only lost two MPs thus far - Rupert Lowe and James McMurdock which is roughly 28.5% of the seven MPs they've had in total.
When Labour lose 28.5% to suspension or 113 of their 398 MPs then I'll admit an equal sleaze quotient.
HTH

Just stop putting Labour on a moral pedestal when they blatantly don't deserve it.

Two of five is almost 50% though. In what is meant to be a highly successful party on the up.

Who's left? Lee Anderson, with an absolute cavalcade of controversy behind him, including a recent suggestion that the Government just 'break the law'. Promising future Minister? Richard Tice, climate change denier, and Nigel Farage, enough said.

And the new ones? Sarah Pochin, formally reprimanded for misconduct as a magistrate, and Danny Kruger, anti-abortion, gay marriage, pro death penalty and had his dog off the lead in a park.

All but Lee Anderson privately educated. Farage famously too fascist for his public school's comfort.

I for one haven't put Labour on any sort of pedestal other than being far, far better than Reform.

Where have I defended Reform? Show me where I have excused the behaviour.

All I am saying is that Labour have got zero leg to claim moral superiority.

Why bring the education into it? Unless your trying to do the shite virtue signalling faux poverty claiming of some Labour MPs.

Well, given that 28.5% of their MPs haven't been lost, I would argue that Labour ard doing considerably better. Not perfectly, but better. Basic maths.

I'm not putting Labour on a moral pedestal at all. I'm merely suggesting that the figures show that Reform have a much poorer record than Labour. This is a fact that you seem to struggle with immensely.
HTH again.

It's really not. You keep suggesting that Labour are as bad as Reform, when the data tells a different story. You pretend that we who challenge you think Labour are perfect - that's a strawman argument.

You certainly deny certain things and refuse to acknowledge others.
You certainly have claimed Labour moral superiority over Reform and Tories repeatedly on other threads.

I have merely said that Labour and their supporters shouldn't throw stones because they live in glass houses.
I'm sorry that has triggered you.

Labour clearly can claim moral superiority over Reform based on the figures for suspended MPs.

You posted this same list just 3 days ago. Not sure why you think it's going to have any more impact this time around. It's totally pointless unless you are going to provide the same information for all parties so that a true comparison can be made.

All this list shows is that you hate Labour (which we're all very aware of).

Just chucked the schooling in as a nice reminder that Reform's elite narrative really doesn't stand up to much scrutiny.

Ice seen that long list before. It goes back a long way and some of the names aren’t even Labour. The other, fair enough, 11 councillors but over one incident. And, once more, if we take as read for the moment that Labour are <insert insult here> how are Reform the answer? They do all that stuff. More so, over a shorter period and with fewer councillors/MPs to start with.
Stop insisting Labour are awful and answer the question - how are Reform the answer?

cardibach · 30/09/2025 15:58

GabrielsOboe · 30/09/2025 14:15

Why are Reform doing so well in the polling, then?

What’s your view?

Because people like yourself are saying they are the answer while ignoring/not generally being challenged on the reality of the corruption and bad behaviour amongst Reform councillors/MPs.
Could you answer the question I asked? How are Reform the cure?

MalinandGo · 30/09/2025 16:00

Reform are doing so well because they are telling people there are quick, painless and easy answers to all the problems the country has.

I am only bringing it up because PPs portray Reform as being more morally corrupt and ignore the moral corruption within Labour. Holding 1 party up as being morally superior when it demonstrably isn't is being completely disingenuous.

If you mean me, the PP you’ve been quoting, no, I didn’t do that. @GabrielsOboe said Reform was the cure for the ‘incompetent, deceitful and vindictive’ Labour MPs. I asked how they were the cure when they are at least as bad (taking as read that Labour MPs are those things for the moment).
So. How is Reform the cure to all that moral corruption you can see?

No choice where I live. If you want to get Labour out, which I desperately do, then it will be a Reform vote. So I will be voting Reform.
