No-one is mentioning Trump's stroke

It's like tumbleweed out there. During the live televised 9/11 remembrance service Trump's face drooped on one side.

No-one in the mainstream media seems to be mentioning it.

Ive only seen it mentioned on IHIP and the Meidas Touch.

My dad suffered a stroke and after he recovered for rest of his life his mouth drooped like this if he was tired, had an infection etc

Same for my late husband. The first time it happened, I thought he'd had another stroke. (It was a UTI.)

Tinytimmy123 · 13/09/2025 21:08

I fail to see why whether TR is gay, straight, trans or a furry has any relevance? It doesn't mean he is left or right, both republicans and Democrats can be gay, trans and/or a furry. Grindr crashed when the republicans came to town for a convention so let's not fool ourselves into believing it's only the leftys who dabble with the same gender....the republicans are just not so keen to admit it.

The gerontocracy strikes again

abouttogetlynched · 13/09/2025 21:32

I thought the same, although also considered that maybe he’s just got a baggy old face.

Blimey, how horrid. I wonder how you will expect people to react when one of your family becomes ill?

Oh come off it - he's a complete waste of oxygen and everyone knows it.

As if it would be remotely comparable to a family member being unwell 🙄

Coco1379 · 13/09/2025 22:12

Could be Bells Palsy

Dweetfidilove · 13/09/2025 22:15

I'm actually praying for him to live to the end of his term, so please don't 🙏🏾...

And presumably you recognised that that was a disgusting way to behave? So why do it yourself?

And as Michelle Obama says, "When they go low, we go high". Not sure any us should be stooping to Trump's level.

Trump's a convicted rapist, and was a frequent visitor of Epstein, pedophile. He's also Putin's puppet. The whole western World will celebrate.

Why are you lolol?

Where’s your certainty coming from?

His parents.

TheCheekyCyanHelper · 14/09/2025 00:33

His parents.

I am sure his parents are reasonable people, but his politics are much less likely to do with his capacity to commit a very public murder than his upbringing and possible mental illness.

Lots of people loathe public personas, only very few plan, and actually carry out the plan to kill them.

I had this with vestibular neuritis years ago. Very unpleasant side effects.

That's the thing for me

I disagree with pretty much everything Charlie Kirk says. His views were really extreme. But, I still think his death was a loss for everyone. Both in terms of "ask not for whom the bell tolls it tolls for thee" but because it's another piece of political violence that makes dialogue even harder in America than it was the day before. And that has a negative effect even across the pond. Generally I don't think political opponents are political enemies.

But I have a really strong visceral reaction to Trump based on the "grab em by the pussy" comments, the walking in on teenage beauty contestants getting dressed, the friendship with Epstein, the alleged rape of a child, the adjudicated rape of a woman. It's not a political disagreement. If someone was running on a political platform that (for example) they wanted to lower the age of consent I would find that abhorrent but could engage with what they were saying as something I disagreed with.

It's much much harder to be civil about Trump.

@CharlotteCChapel I can't believe this thread. Yes, his mouth dips slightly on one side... but my mouth dips on one side also.

Most people have facial asymmetries, but I guess mumsnet is full of beautiful people with perfect facial symmetry who can't fathom how someone can have an asymmetric face without having had a stroke.

Missing teeth also make your face collapse.

Strange how I simply can't bring myself to view primary age children being gunned down by nutcases as in any way good.

To give the direct quote from Mr Kirk: "I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."

"Some gun deaths every single year" being 50,000 or so, including, in the bad years, children in primary schools.

So, um, how do you interpret him thinking those deaths are worth it as showing him to have been a good man? And out of interest, what God-given rights do you feel are protected by random nutters carrying guns?

The problem is, I've seen posts on social media after (for example) a woman is killed/hurt and if there is just a chance she might be left wing and a chance the crime was committed by an immigrant/ethnic minority you get posts along the lines of "this is what she voted for" (and worse). The idea being that if you are foolish enough to support immigration then you can't complain if you get killed by immigrants. (Because of co5most women are left wing due to having soft brains, and everyone on the left wants completely open borders and chides people that don't).
It's completely hateful. But if it's hateful to say a person who supports refugees deserves to get killed by refugees then it's equally hateful to say someone like Charlie's Kirk who advocates for the 2nd amendment deserves to get shot. It's still a tragedy, maybe it's ironic but that doesn't make it deserved.
The fact is the right to bear arms is quite widely supported in the US and they/he has his own logical arguments for supporting it even if I don't get it. I don't think it's even his most objectionable view. So it's an odd thing to seize on.

It’s true.

Leftists would never be honest though and say it’s worth a few sexual assaults because diversifying the United Kingdom is a worthy goal. But this is what they obviously believe, they just cannot be honest with the rest of us.

Why do you think this is leftists getting what they voted for? Can you explain?

Do you think young adults don’t diverge politically from their parents?

Yes, a couple if degrees further left or right than their parents.

A 180 of a child from a MAGA family who proudly pose on social media with their military-grade assault rifles, where the kids have had so much training with guns that they can hit a target with such accuracy with only one shot from that distance—for that child to become a woke snowflake leftist antifa who is willing to kill for their leftist beliefs?

In a word…no.

Of course people can. There are crimes committed by all kinds of young adults whose beliefs are removed from their parents beliefs to a great degree.
