Did I manage to report my own post or something mental? Brain fog....clumsy thumbs.... Or am I on MN naughty list ? 🤔🫣😮

Oh phew they unhid it. Lol. 😆 Sorry everyone. As you were.

I'm blooming shattered. Too many chores today. I just don't want to do it all anymore. Work tomorrow.

BerfyTigot · 22/09/2025 10:02

My students go back tomorrow, so last day of having them around.

I'm clearing out our pantry today "for Christmas" as suggested by The Organised Mum on Instagram. Hoping my son will take some of his weird ingredients back with him. Otherwise having a quiet day which is much needed as I ended up doing too much yesterday.

SunSay · 22/09/2025 13:18

Well … a Meh weekend. Too much pain, fatigue to go to an interesting meeting I wanted to go to yesterday morning. Didn’t get to watch a film, only energy was for drifting in and out of Midsommer Murders. Mrs Barnaby married to John Nettles is my dream job 😂. However I did sort out a lot of my IPhone notes - on my mind for months.

I woke up at 4 am and took 3 x Ibuforen. Maybe it did the trick as woke up again at 11 am relatively pain free.

I hear you @MewithME about the roasts. Hard to find a good one. I cooked a roast for myself yesterday - haven’t done that for a long time. Took time and energy, and ages with the washing up. On the positive side, no more cooking for a couple more days:).

Feel fairly pain free and bright today, such a nice change, though didn’t get up till 12 in time for my food delivery. Any night owls here? I suppose if you have family at home that’s not easy to navigate. I just can’t do mornings at all, which means I miss out on things I just can’t commit to.

It’s lovely and sunny here, not too many chores, another quick trip to post office and charity shop later. I am now going to do some reading, again I have to have the energy, be in the mood, and today I am 💕.

SunSay · 22/09/2025 13:21

I’m smiled at the “weird ingredients” @BerfyTigot. My son when at home was always buying various crazy spice concoctions.

MewithME · 22/09/2025 16:02

Weird ingredients is hilarious 😂

I remember my Dad doing the food shop in Makro when mum was poorly. I would be early teens, sometime in the eighties. He came back with completely random food items which could not be combined to make anything remotely edible 😆 Like caviar, some honey and some weird cereal or something. Like a bad episode of Ready, Steady, Cook!

I have not long been home from work. I have made a honey and lemon (scratchy throat and thumpy head.... urgh) and sat in bed eating a packet of biscuits!

Evening all. Very tired here today. Done as little as possible but wish I could have done less.

@didntlikethisThere are some long Covid clinics in South Wales. Curious about the provision in other parts of Wales.

Quiet weekend for me. Going to a nearby retail park to pop into M&S for an easy dinner then into hotel chocolat cafe for a treat.

Hi to new posters 👋 Glad your here but sorry you have to be ❤️

I don't think there are any LC clinics in my part of Wales. Cwm Taf Morgannwg and Cardiff and Vale UHB definitely don't run them although the latter has the LiveWell service which doesn't include any doctors. That's all about lifestyle measures, which are helpful but medical input should still exist. My GP is well-meaning but not clued-up on the latest research.

Realisation14 · 24/09/2025 09:38

Morning everyone, I felt great yesterday for the first time in about 5 days and of course foolishly took advantage of it and did far far too much (had fallen behind on lots of things and really needed caught up) and now this morning I feel like a bag of crap for it!! Shock, horror lol.

Today I am doing my good shopping and taking my dog to the vet for her booster jab. Some very light house work shall be done also but that's it.

Hope you all have an okay day if that's all we can hope for!

Orangesandlemons77 · 24/09/2025 11:07

Still in bed here. Going out with elderly MIL for coffee later so will need to get up.

JohnBullshit · 24/09/2025 11:18

Same vibe here, @Realisation14 . In my case I'm constantly trying to work around DH and getting fucked up because my pacing is all out of whack. He's sporadically aware of this, and imagines having total rest days will somehow compensate, but unless I'm having a really bad spell it's better if I can fit in short managed periods of activity. It's not what a healthy person would deem to be anything other than a day off, regardless.

jkELG · 24/09/2025 13:40

MewithME · 21/09/2025 17:54

Hi @jkELG . I'm a bit PoTsy but not diagnosed yet. Doctor has ordered 24 hour ECG which I postponed so it's due again. Dreading it 😞

I have a heart monitor I wear all the time so don't know what it'll do beyond what I have already to be honest. Sigh

Anyway.... someone mentioned electrolytes to me. Lots taste gross but I either grab luxoade sport on a meal deal if I am at work or I'm trialling some electrolyte gummies. Not sure if they do much.... think they might help.

I definitely get bad heart palpitations after food...some worse than others. Tomato soup v bad, jacket potato pretty bad....

Thank you @MewithME

Similar here. Mine are also positional - stretching out seems to reduce them, bending forward can be a trigger. Ugh, still scare me stupid.

I was told by a cardiologist I have POTs like symptoms and to up salt intake. Good reason to eat tortilla chips!

Same re electrolytes. Some natural ones seem to help, such as banana chips.

MewithME · 24/09/2025 14:11

Yeah.... Except I have high BP so salt is not good! Ha. Can't win can we.

Did not know about banana chips. Nice! I like those but not had them in a long time.

I'm having a lunchtime lie down. Heart is pounding after lunch. I ought to just stay in bed but I need to do more work 😭

I am feeling awful again today.

Just joining in! Yesterday (Wednesday) was OK, starting to manage to get around a bit more. It was difficult for me to go a few metres for a couple of days. Had a shower so I look much better.

Managed to start to clean up in my scuzzy little place, just doing the laundry and recycling and cleaning the kitchen, gathering paperwork. I'll get around to the floors today. Had a brief swipe at them but not a proper clean. Then got tired!

Good news lightens your mood, doesn't it? I think an ongoing issue is finally getting resolved which is a weight off my shoulders.

Does anyone else find it difficult to eat let alone healthily when issues kick in?

Whatarethese1 · 25/09/2025 07:11

Medjoul dates are good as natural electrolytes. Packed with magnesium and potassium.

Greenvases · 25/09/2025 09:27

I am taking magnesium at night to help my sleep and have added sucking one clove too.
Don't know if its a coincidence but have definitely been out cold the last few nights.

A clove is good for melatonin and antibacterial for the mouth as well.

Might be worth a try. I used some aldi ones I had in the kitchen.

Love dates, good for your gut too, and walnuts.

Hotbeverageplease · 25/09/2025 14:10

Hi, haven’t posted for a while. We took on a new rescue dog after losing ours 9 months ago and it’s been a bit of a shock to the system. She’s settling pretty well now but as I’m home all the time, its definitely taking its toll on me a bit as she’s only 10 months and pretty active whereas our old dogs were old ( and frankly lazy 😁) so a bit more ME friendly. I’ve definitely had moments of what the hell have we taken on! She can be a bit barky when anxious which isn’t easy. However, it’s given me a better routine and it’s lovely having the company again when everyone is out and I’m telling myself daily, it’s early days, she’ll settle down and it will get easier!
Hope everyone else is doing okay.

ChampagneRose · 25/09/2025 14:23

@Hotbeveragepleasei bet having a new dog is exhausting! They are lovely but also hard work - hope she settles well and is sleeping at night

I got my period this morning grrr. Wish they would bugger off. I always crave sweets when my period comes on so I just had a whole packet of jelly snakes fgs. And then I wonder why I can’t fit in my jeans!

Orangesandlemons77 · 25/09/2025 14:44

I got to the gentle Pilates class ok which was good lovely sunny day out

Hotbeverageplease · 25/09/2025 14:57

@ChampagneRose yes I think I’d forgotten the hard work part!! She’s a sweetheart really but more so when she’s asleep and looking cute 😂
Oh periods are such a pain aren’t they! I also used to crave sweet stuff. Mine stopped a few years back and it was quite a relief tbf despite the joys of menopause!

@Orangesandlemons77 well done on the Pilates. Yes the sun is shining here too, a lovely day which helps my mood.

MewithME · 25/09/2025 22:10

Haven't posted because I'm much the same and fairly miserable and sick of hearing myself moan.

But nice to see new people here and hoping you're all doing ok.

Nearly the weekend again. Phew.

I just found out both my younger sisters’ periods stopped years ago! I now feel even more aggrieved that I still have them. That sounds ridiculous reading it back but I’ve been waiting for mine to go since the day they started 😂

I’m looking forward to a weekend in bed - there’s some good new tv on. Slow Horses, the hack. I’m also starting to think about planning Xmas because I just can’t rush around last minute as I don’t have the energy to do so.

Hope everyone is managing to stay well with all the bugs doing the rounds

MewithME · 26/09/2025 13:00

I need my Apple TV subscription back.

Jackson Lamb is a joy in my grumpy life. I feel seen 😂

TeaAndStrumpets · 26/09/2025 13:44

Thanks for the thread @MewithME , came on to share the Slow Horses love! Mick Herron's Oxford detective books are equally wonderful, I'm hoping they make it to the TV screen as well.

Long term CFS here, I have been constantly crashing and burning since we listed our house in May. The sheer hell of being viewer- ready is a nightmare. I am clockwatching today hoping nobody wants a viewing this weekend because I can't face it. Will relax once the agent hasn't rung by 5pm!

Don't worry about moaning here- we all do it and sometimes it is nice to let it out!

I have been asleep most of the day. Going to try and get up now as boring jobs need doing such as the washing etc, maybe try and go out for a bit.
