A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I think we saw it when Johnson was in intensive care, and Raab stepped in temporarily?

Let hope we can switch him out before the ink dries on reparation plans.

Reparation bloody hell as if Chagos wasn’t bad enough.

Oooo we are "The right-wing shrills are everywhere on MN at the moment - 'Labour is not working' being a prime example"

According to someone on the shouty Labour thread

Haha thanks for looking so we don’t have to. They are angry about Rayner and Labour.

They should look to their own party failings not our thread 😬

It's really weird that they think we are shills! Completely incapable of the flexibility of thought to realise that other people see the world differently to them.

We at least are cynical enough not to underestimate other people's <ahem> different level of understanding and different opinions, and realise that they are genuine, albeit misguided.

EasternStandard · 06/09/2025 10:53

70% disapprove of Labour, 11% approve and that’s likely to fall again after this week.

Shouty mn Labour really do cut off from public opinion - still! Even at this point.

They're getting worse aren't they? 🙄

This article ran in the Telegraph today: Britain’s most apolitical town has turned on Starmer: the Reform revolution has truly begun.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/gift/07bfc8f62e86253d

It's quite interesting to see how Long Eaton is used as the temperature check on what is happening in politics. Not just the scale of popularity that you'd get in polling but, because historically, it doesn't give much more than a political shrug to the passing political tides, it is a canary in the coalmine for the strength of political feelings in the country more widely.

Anyway, it's a whole coffee kind of read but the short version is that Reform's appeal isn't surface deep.

Lashing out because their party is fucking it up.

Interesting @Upstartled

😂😂🤣

If ever there was an example of judging others by one’s own standards.

They see what they want to see because that’s their narrow shrill shouty view / voice.

State of them. Embarrassing for Labour but it helps us all to understand exactly why They Are Where They Are…

Frankly if I was a Labour acolyte I’d be thinking least said soonest mended, head down and try and sort this shit out. But getting stuff done isn’t in their play book.

They prefer victim hood and pointing fingers. Twas ever thus.

I’m not looking at the threads btw, I’ve decided I don’t need those desperate shouty ugly flailing around vibes, in my life 🤷‍♀️

Very wise

Is it just me, but when discussions (over the road) turn to the deputy leadership and cries for it must be a woman, I think "it should be someone competent "

I've noticed in the absence of being able to justify the incompetence of the Labour party that they have turned their attention to just bad mouthing everybody else in-between cat pictures. I suppose it keeps them off the streets.

Yes 🤣. So funny, all these suggestions forthcoming and each suggestion someone says “oh I don’t like her” so it’s back to the drawing board 🤣

It will be squirrels again soon to give everyone a chance to calm down.

I inadvertently opened a pro-Labour thread which had appeared under Trending; all I can say is I take my hat off to those of you who can bear to read and report that level of delusion.

My BP is good, but not that good.😬

Yeah, but they're lashing out in the wrong direction. It's Starmer and co they should be blaming, not a thread on MN. It's not our bloomin fault.

I’ve missed those

Looking forward to PMQs next week 🥴
