You know this Coldplay affair video, why were they still hugging when they knew the kiss cam was out?

It wasn’t like they were the first person that got zoomed in on
guess it shows how complacent they were

at least the partners at home know now and can bin them off

I feel sorry for their partners and families, what a horrible way to find out.
I had a prev partner who had a work affair and what hurt even more was that people I considered friends knew about it, but no one told me.

No one gets to be an astronaut without having the most huge ego in the world. It’s what gets them to be an astronaut out of all the other applicants.

It’s ego.

And good on Chris Martin for literally calling it out.

I can’t believe how many people think Chris Martin was “calling it out” as some kind of moral crusade. Who would do that in the middle of their own gig (with absolutely zero proof)? It was clearly a joke about the way they reacted - and as it turned out, the old adage about many a true word being spoken in jest was correct on this occasion!

Bearneccessities · 18/07/2025 09:01

I can confirm no astronauts were harmed in the making of this video

Specific situation aside, I hate these intrusive cameras. I have no interest in which random strangers are kissing, in the crowd, and hate the idea that it could be MY ugly mug displayed on the big screen, feeling humiliated for simply enjoying myself with my partner. I find it incredibly intrusive. No one knows who is in the crowd. What if she had been hiding from an abusive ex partner? What if it had been a gay couple that hadn’t come out yet? What if it was a couple who just wanted to keep their new relationship private for a while longer, because they hadn’t told their children yet? What if it was just someone who hates having their photograph taken? I wish we could get away from the idea that we have the “right” to know the ins and outs of other peoples lives.

Edited

It’s only the people in the crowd that see the screen normally. This one has only gone viral because they panicked and ran away. This happens at loads of concerts across the world and you don’t normally see any of the people featured. And let’s face it, if they are a stranger to you you’d never remember a bland couple who just smiled or waved or kissed. If a couple just haven’t told their children yet, unless the children are at the concert, they will never see it. If a gay couple haven’t come out yet, they can just smile and wave. It’s actually quite unlikely you’ll know the people on the screen at the concert. I’ve been to tons of concerts at Wembley (5 mins from where I live) and never recognised anyone on screen.

To be honest I’m not a huge fan of being on screen either. But it is stated on most concert T&Cs that filming happens and you may be on screen or even on video/dvd if the band are filming for a dvd etc. The other choice really is you don’t go. I don’t like being picked on at things like comedy events so I just avoid going to them.

What was his response ?

Hardly a loss ...

You must have seen the video exposing a couple havjgn an affair at Coldplay gig ? Look at TikTok or online it’s everywhere

Plenty of people won't have seen it ... You make it sound like really important news. I have no idea who these people are.

JuniperJuly · 18/07/2025 07:38

So, how long do you think before the woman is forced to quit?

You can be forced to step down by the board of your own company so my guess is they will both disappear.

It is ALL over the place so the poster wasn’t unreasonable to assume most people would know what this thread is about.

Astronomer is a DataOps company. It’s a product based on Apache Airflow data engineering pipelines. Please don’t post things you don’t understand.

Software engineer here. I don’t know DataOps but know enough to understand what the company does.

God. People think sm is the be all and end all. Terrifying how dumbed down this country has become.

XiCi · 18/07/2025 09:14

I read that they are both married but not living with their spouses. The wife of the CEO lives in a different state to him. Crazy how things blow up online.

gloriahallelujah · 18/07/2025 09:14

I’ve just seen his response. Absolutely cringe. Essentially blaming Coldplay for ruining his life by exposing him as a cheat.

EasternStandard · 18/07/2025 09:16

BeamMeUpCountMeIn · 18/07/2025 08:30

There were 65,000 other people in the stadium. They never thought they'd be spotted in their fancy seats.
His response made things worse, awful man.

Yep and agree with pp the camera thing is odd but I guess they’re used to it.

I watched after seeing this thread to see what people were talking about. It was a pretty telling reaction.

Although someone has said partners don’t live with them, not sure if that’s correct

Erm... ok

Maybe pay attention to where you are. This is not a new thing, its a known thing that happens at these events. Just put your hand in front of your face, or smile and then the camera moves on

I wish we could get away from the idea that we have the “right” to know the ins and outs of other peoples lives.
And still here you are on a thread discussing other peoples lives.

Why did you click on this thread? (dont mean to rude, but I probably am)
You clicked as you have an interest in what the thread is about from the title "You know this Coldplay affair video, why were they still hugging when they knew the kiss cam was out? " So already, you know its about an affair being exposed.

Sauvin · 18/07/2025 09:24

At least he took it seriously, it’s her laughing with her friend that really adds insult to injury. How their respective partners must’ve felt watching that.

He's not an astronaut he's a tech CEO.

The company he runs is called Astronomer but it's nothing to do with space I don't think.

Namechangerage · 18/07/2025 08:11

Omg🤣

This comment has to go in the hall of fame, surely!

Works for a company called Astronomer = he’s an astronaut

And saying astronauts have the biggest egos in the world. As if we know them!!

And also thinking that having a big ego would help with the astronaut interview. 😂

Beachtastic · 18/07/2025 09:29

I love Byron (the OW) saying of her working relationship with him, "the real magic happens when you align the people strategy with the business strategy."

I'll say! 😆

Pretty sure this won't do his career any harm, it might even boost it in the long run. Not sure about hers, though...

Yazzi · 18/07/2025 09:33

Astronaut Kary Perry must be so relieved that there's a new story hitting the astronomy sector 😂

proximalhumerous · 18/07/2025 09:37

Just seen the statement he put out. He's sanctimoniously complaining about invasion of privacy. Knob.

@AnotherGreyMorninghaving an affair is morally repugnant and speaks volumes about a person's character, but it doesn't automatically make them unprofessional. A cheater could still teach maths, operate on someone, sell products etc - it has no bearing on their ability to do their job.
While I would judge them personally, I think we have to be wary of linking people's personal lives to their work. A job is an employer paying us for our time during contracted hours and unless the behaviour compromises the work then it's not really the employer's business. Even if it's not great behaviour.
Obviously a person should be sacked if their job is for ex a teacher, who has a side hustle on only fans, as that compromises their ability to work effectively. Or a vicar who is cheating on their spouse, since their job is to promote morality.

There is a possibility that he actually employed her because of their affair, if that is the case its very unprofessional.

MayaPinion · 18/07/2025 09:43

I’d divorce my husband if I saw him at a Coldplay gig. Even if he was by himself I’d divorce him.

MayaPinion · 18/07/2025 09:45

Donald Trump must be absolutely thrilled with this piece of saucy fluff taking attention away from the Epstein files.
