You know this Coldplay affair video, why were they still hugging when they knew the kiss cam was out?

It wasn’t like they were the first person that got zoomed in on
guess it shows how complacent they were

at least the partners at home know now and can bin them off

Just seen the statement he put out. He's sanctimoniously complaining about invasion of privacy. Knob.

Apparently, that was a fake statement. Unless he’s actually issued something himself in the last couple of hours.

Specific situation aside, I hate these intrusive cameras. I have no interest in which random strangers are kissing, in the crowd, and hate the idea that it could be MY ugly mug displayed on the big screen, feeling humiliated for simply enjoying myself with my partner. I find it incredibly intrusive. No one knows who is in the crowd. What if she had been hiding from an abusive ex partner? What if it had been a gay couple that hadn’t come out yet? What if it was a couple who just wanted to keep their new relationship private for a while longer, because they hadn’t told their children yet? What if it was just someone who hates having their photograph taken? I wish we could get away from the idea that we have the “right” to know the ins and outs of other peoples lives.

I'm with you. If I go to a concert I want to be entertained, not the entertainment. But I don't really like having my photo taken anyway. I know other people enjoy the kiss cam though.

I’d divorce my husband if I saw him at a Coldplay gig. Even if he was by himself I’d divorce him.

That would certainly fix him with tears rolling down his face and no lights to guide him home anymore.

Ah right. I suppose you shouldn't trust anything like that to be genuine.

ThatCyanCat · 18/07/2025 10:03

If you don't want to kiss on camera, don't show any affection and prepare a sign saying "My brother/sister" to whip out if need be.

LlynTegid · 18/07/2025 10:03

A kisscam is so last century and if their taste in music is Coldplay, the sympathy is for their families.

If they had just smiled no one would be any the wiser today.

Well, he had his arms around her tightly and they were swaying, locked together.

"I prefer to think of my role as people strategy versus traditional human resources, as the real magic happens when you align the people strategy with the business strategy."

Corporate bollocks nonsense. Every company has an element of it.

Very valid point!

I had a guy who stalked me for several years in my twenties. 25 years later I have no pictures of myself on FB or Instagram. I still get totally non-reflective people telling me they don't like faceless accounts. It never occurs to anyone that there might be a valid reason you don't want to post your photos or personal going ons online!

Being at a concert and having your presence beamed put to all and sundry not knowing who is in the crowd would have a nightmare. Very uncomfortable.

a222 · 18/07/2025 10:10

his response was cringeworthy too

No one gets to be an astronaut without having the most huge ego in the world. It’s what gets them to be an astronaut out of all the other applicants.

It’s ego.

Yeah - I saw Tim Peake at Wimbledon the other day, quietly enjoying the tennis with his wife, if that's not egomania I don't know what is.

Bloody astronauts.

Pizzagirly · 18/07/2025 10:13

I think it is hilarious.
Serves the right.

BadDinner · 18/07/2025 10:18

That said, in this case this couple deserved it though I'm sure it was mortifying and the fallout must of been epic scale at home. Imagine entering an affair having concerns about partners finding out and the entire world ending up knowing!

As to 'why didn't they just calmly wave' they had sudden fight or flight mode. You know, rabbit stuck in the headlights? They hadn't conceived ending up in the screen. When it happened they went to the most primal reaction - get away from the danger. The Guy was no knight in shining armour he ducked first. He got full flight mode. Obviously his marriage meant something to him still.

The woman got stuck and you can literally see her brain and body struggling to coordinate an appropriate reaction before she too, slinks away.

Their colleagues seem to be laughing at their expense rather than in concert with them. It looks to me like it was a laugh of 'Ha ha! They got caught!'

I’m the same. Keep a very low profile for similar reasons. It all makes me so uncomfortable

Oblomov25 · 18/07/2025 10:24

His reaction online and his 'apology' was pitiful and speaks volumes about him.

but yes I actually find the idea of this kisscam idea quite intrusive.

RepoTheGeriatricOpera · 18/07/2025 10:25

I don't know why people think they aren't astronauts, this is a 100% confirmed photo of them before the show.

Blondestripedlassie · 18/07/2025 10:35

If they had just acted normally, this would not have made the news. Him throwing himself on the floor made it obvious they weren't meant to be together!

I have questions…

Whats a kiss cam?
Are they just at coldplay gigs?
What’s it got to do with astronauts?

I can absolutely see why they panicked and hid though. I think it would be most people's first reaction.

And while they're obviously doing wrong, I do feel a bit sorry for them. More for their families, of course, but although this is obviously a wrong, wrong thing to do, the public international spectacle of it, names and memes on social media viewed globally and all that, seems harsh.

Kiss cam - a video camera that pans over the audience at concerts and events and then spotlights a couple who are the supposed to kiss. They are not just used at Coldplay.

Astronaut - the couple in question work at a tech company called Astronomer

333FionaG · 18/07/2025 10:51

I think it’s funny, but I doubt their spouses think that. Silly sods shouldn’t have reacted.

mickandrorty · 18/07/2025 10:55

It is literally every other post on FB its awful really, I know the partners/family have nothing to be embarrassed by but i think they will be, I know I would feel mortified if that was my life being showcased and picked at by vultures like that.

Ohhereiswhereitis · 18/07/2025 01:08

You must have seen the video exposing a couple havjgn an affair at Coldplay gig ? Look at TikTok or online it’s everywhere

If someone is asking for more info I think its a good sign they haven't seen the video. Some ppl have lives that don't revolve around tik tok

Fiveforlittle · 18/07/2025 11:15

If they were out at a work event in open sight of their colleagues, then perhaps the reactions are more about how the company's clients may react to the public reveal....
