Yes - the clause "what should have been a private moment" is so very, very wrong on his part. He's essentially saying he's only sorry that he's been caught out.

A private beautiful tender moment...

What a knobber!

Foolsgold74 · 17/07/2025 22:29

Jamesblonde2 · 17/07/2025 21:27

Haha idiots. She doesn’t look worth the grief.

Don't be this person.

workshy46 · 17/07/2025 22:33

guinnessguzzler · 17/07/2025 22:13

I actually think that statement has made it worse. If he'd have stopped before the bit where he's basically blaming Coldplay for his life imploding, he might have convinced some people he was sincere. It's amazing how many of these types just can't help but reveal themselves. Presumably he paid someone to help him with that and he's still ended up announcing his complete lack of accountability to the world. Again, what a knobber!

This 100%

hby9628 · 17/07/2025 22:36

That statement is hilarious! Prize tw*t.

LetsHopeSo · 17/07/2025 22:37

MarySueSaidBoo · 17/07/2025 22:06

Found on X....

I read about this earlier on Mumsnet!
What an absolute ar*ehole trying to blame others- "a private moment ' at a stadium full of thousands of people!!

There will be a lot of gossip in the staff room at their work place!
I hope his wife takes him to the cleaners.

cyvguhb · 17/07/2025 22:40

outerspacepotato · 17/07/2025 22:07

He saw them try to hide. The guy tried ducking even. That's not a normal reaction. He's not stupid.

It would be my reaction I think if I was suddenly on a camera like that, kissing or not 😁

orwellwasright2025 · 17/07/2025 22:50

What a couple of vile pigs. According to X they're both married, if true how utterly devastating for their poor families, not only degraded and abused by their spouse, but the whole world laughing at it.

ClearHoldBuild · 17/07/2025 22:51

It’s how he sinks down to hide, what a pathetic excuse of a man.

orwellwasright2025 · 17/07/2025 22:51

I wish mumsnetters could get it through their heads that you can be filmed and photographed anywhere in public without your permission and you give up your privacy simply being in a public place.

AhBiscuits · 17/07/2025 22:55

His statement, OMG 😅
How the fuck was Coldplay to know they were having an affair, they just assumed they were a couple.

Vvbs · 17/07/2025 22:58

IJWMM · 17/07/2025 22:18

Absolutely - if the two of them weren’t happy, then they should have just ended their respective relationships. Rather than screwing around behind the backs of their partners. Who were probably looking after kids that evening whilst their OH did their “very important job”.

Tale as old as time - most people don’t have the guts to be honest and “just end it”. Instead, they fuck things up for most people in their orbit.

I think a divorce should happen but I don't want anyone to be cleaned out

FairyMaclary · 17/07/2025 22:59

He’s moaning about consent. Wow. While he’s cheating on his wife - who has presumably not consented to being in a non monogamous relationship.

I regularly say on here cheats have poor personality traits, for example - arrogance, tone deaf, needs smoke blowing up arse, thinks they deserve more, liar, me me me attitude etc. This is just another ten a penny cheat who no doubt thinks he is scintillating, sexy and smooth but really he’s just another sleazy scrotey Steve.

You rarely get to see a public statement from a cheat but that statement is so cheaty mccheater. It’s pathetic and weasley. If you lie to your loved ones what would you do in business?

A cheat Moaning about lack of Consent 🫣, ever the victim, what a dickhead.

BathOliversister2244 · 17/07/2025 22:59

Knobber is right! On many fronts!

I hope a PR company wasn’t paid for that awful statement.

To characterise an alleged affair as a “mistake” when a choice has been made to be unfaithful is so disingenuous!

And then to imply that it was all Coldplay’s fault! 🙈 Does no one take responsibility for anything nowadays? He’s just upset he has been exposed! Is he not responsible, through his very poor choices, for bringing very public misery to his family?

Poor wife and children. What an awful, awful way to find out, I hope she knows that many women feel huge sympathy for her tonight,

MissSophiaGrace · 17/07/2025 23:07

The statement is simply astonishing. I initially thought it was a joke posted by someone else. Jesus Christ. What a total idiot.

FairyMaclary · 17/07/2025 23:10

@BathOliversister2244

of course it’s coldplays fault. Or his wife’s fault. Maybe it’s the head of HRs fault she forcefully wrapped his arms around her and dragged him on the night out. Poor little man, betrayed and made a fool of in public. He should put in a complaint to HR about the outing on Monday morning.

Its certainly a new take on ‘it’s your fault you didn’t cuddle me enough’ ‘ you put on weight after you had our baby’ ‘you didn’t seem interested in me anymore’.

Coldplay made me do it!
Someone should add it to the script! It’s absolutely outrageous and shows how it’s never the betrayed persons fault.

If either spouse is reading this I am so sorry. Please post your own thread (without the obvious identifying details) and you will get helpful replies.

jimmyjammy001 · 17/07/2025 23:10

I can't stand people who have affairs and have turned my back on friend's who have, unfortunately there is alot of people out there who continue to be friends with people who have affairs and so they will continue to keep doing it as they know there are no consequences and can carry on with life as normal, they're friend to the left of them knew they were having an affair which is why she is just as embarrassed as them. She should be ashamed of her self also for not condemning it

FancyNewt · 17/07/2025 23:11

What a pompous statement

Icanflyhigh · 17/07/2025 23:13

A coldplay gig though?!
I'd die of embarrassment if I was caught at one of them!

CJFJ1 · 17/07/2025 23:17

The first sentence of his is also terrible - "What was supposed to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake". It's almost like he's implying he innocently went to the concert and this work colleague thrust herself into his arms at the event and he was helpless.

GrooveArmada · 17/07/2025 23:21

Definitely a PR non-apology apology, it's so bad I think it came from Chat GPT 1, it sounds microwaved 🤣

What a plonker. Cheating on his wife, blaming Coldplay, then quoting Coldplay, give me strength 🤣

I want to invite his wife to join us on here, lots of moral support!

Wreckinball · 17/07/2025 23:22

Well he sounds like a boisterous, stroppy elephant and I’m hoping his wife knew deep down he was a cheater but was so gaslighted by him, she felt powerless, like he’s trying to gaslight the world. This may have done her a huge favour, he can’t deny it now!

becausewecancan · 17/07/2025 23:23

No pity for either of the cheaters. The only ones I feel sorry for are their poor spouses and children (if any).

I can't understand how people think they can conduct an affair in public places and not be seen by someone who recognises one of them. He, especially, wasn't exactly a low-profile person. Did they just not care if someone saw and spread the word?

ALPS100 · 17/07/2025 23:25

Is he saying CM is a friend???

With his "a friend once said" cringe-fest at the end of the statement?

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 17/07/2025 23:29

ClearHoldBuild · 17/07/2025 22:51

It’s how he sinks down to hide, what a pathetic excuse of a man.

He's a proper sleazy creep but the OW is as bad, she's laughing with her mate at first before exiting stage left.

Wolfpinkola · 17/07/2025 23:31

IKnowAristotle · 17/07/2025 18:46

They've fine about the affair but mortified to be outed as Coldplay fans.

😂
