Similar thing happened years ago (pre internet) at Wimbledon. Rain had stopped play and the court was deserted apart from a loved up couple under a huge umbrella. The camera focused on them for something to do - it was quite the iconic pic. Then it turned out they were colleagues having an affair.

I actually think that statement has made it worse. If he'd have stopped before the bit where he's basically blaming Coldplay for his life imploding, he might have convinced some people he was sincere. It's amazing how many of these types just can't help but reveal themselves.
