Well, John Torode has now been sacked too.
Who should take over?

It was an amazing reboot following Loyd. Should it be scrapped?

I actually really like Camillas son - forgotten his name 🤣
Definitely not James Martin, Jamie or a woman who's name I can't remember either 🤣 not Anna the Irish one, but not her either.
Marcus absolutely.

I like Tom Parker Bowles but he's white, middle-aged and posh so won't be chosen.

William Sitwell would be another one but he's in the same group as Tom P-B.

Yes, because nobody white and posh has ever made a successful programme on TV, looking at you Kirsty and Phil, and Trinny and Susannah, and Monty, and Hugh F-W, and Mary K and Giles! 😆

I like Grace Dent.

She speaks odd and looks unfriendly.

Also Mary Berry, Prue Leith, Kevin McCloud...

Angela Hartnett and Si King.

That could work - Good cop/Bad Cop, well reverse that. Si could never do bad cop 😂

Yes, but all of these people were employed and became successful years ago. There is an expectation of diversity now.

Mamamia35 · 15/07/2025 18:34

Kirsty Wark and Rod Stewart

FurForksSake · 15/07/2025 18:35

Michael caines would be great.

TranceNation · 15/07/2025 18:35

It's long been dethroned by The Great British Bake Off.

Nick Nairn and Thomasina Miers I think would also be good.

Jk987 · 15/07/2025 18:37

Monica Gileti and Andrea Oliver

These days being white and posh on TV would be diversity.

Kirsty Wark and Rod Stewart

Too Scottish. Although Rod is a Londoner in reality. Rod could flog his Wolfies Whisky

HollyhockDays · 15/07/2025 18:41

Si King is a good suggestion. I think they will want a gender balance. Angela Harnett is nice but too high end IMHO.

ChatterMonkey · 15/07/2025 18:41

I would like to see Matt Tebutt from Saturday kitchen do it,

Don't think Si would do it, I think he would probably avoid being another 'duo' and has his own solo projects in the North East now.

BigFatLiar · 15/07/2025 18:42

Masterchef has always had a 'proper' chef and a side kick. As I understand it JT has been sacked for something he allegedly said 8 years ago in a social, non-work situation and which he denies. I think anyone taking on this is a mug, it opens you up to all sorts of allegations. Especially if like JT you come from a different cultural background. How many of us can say that term we used years ago aren't now offensive or even know which terms are offensive to some people. Especially when you take into account anything you may say amongst friends.

Time I think to dump masterchef and masterchef the professionals.

SleepyRooster · 15/07/2025 18:43

Fred, William or Jay would all be risks of a future internal inquiry. Just FYI

Flinderskleepers · 15/07/2025 18:47

Katie Price

MarySueSaidBoo · 15/07/2025 18:47

I love Masterchef the Professionals but never watch the regular version as I never have warmed to John and Greg - the way they shovelled food in was revolting. Marcus and Monica would be my choice but I'd imagine they're both too busy with other projects.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 15/07/2025 18:49

Monica and Grace for me please.

Oh a side note surely MasterChef must have been one of the most toxic places of work in telly land. One host exposing himself and constantly making indecent sexual remarks and the other make inappropriate racist comments.

Davros · 15/07/2025 18:49

Blokes innit

Just a bit of bantz, love.
Can't say anything these days.
Bloody middle class women of a certain age 🙄.

mondaytosunday · 15/07/2025 18:54

Ugh no to Monica. My DD won’t watch her. Marcus I used to like til I heard from some chefs who used to work for him that he was awful boss.
Jay and Grace are critics primarily and though Jay has released a cookbook it’s more home cooking inspired by restaurant meals. I think one of the judges needs to be a proper chef.
