That women go through menstruation every month and give birth and breastfeed and yet we're just basically supposed to get on with full time work and everything else.

This.
Also, people who cheat while married. Get freaking divorced. It’s not hard or stigmatized, and cheating is so fucking cruel.

Men having kids with little financial and reproductive labour consequences and then daring to accuse women of PA or mental health difficulties in the face of absent feckless sperm doners.

or society telling women they're mentally unwell when theyve been abused by men and are having a perfectly normal reaction to abuse.

Wild shit

Edited

Yep. This

Parents being judge and jury with our teachers. I'm so over it. It's toxic and getting out of hand in this country.

Utterlyconfusednow · 09/07/2025 17:34

However we came into being, that women would suffer so much - childbirth, periods, menopause. It is unfair.

MaryTheTurtle · 09/07/2025 17:34

Bikinis that show off you arse but it’s ok because you can see the teeny weeny triangle at the top of your arse so therefore it allowed.

leggings with the elastic that divides the arse in 2 - and also show your camel toe.

the80sweregreat · 09/07/2025 17:34

That people want to eat meat from a skewer that looks like a big elephant leg ( kebabs) I do eat meat btw , but I can’t eat kebabs from a takeaway.
How some foods go together well and some just don’t.
How different people are in personalities. How some can lead from the front and others can’t.
How hard it is just existing sometimes. I feel that gets worse as you age too.

Using animals for sport...hunting, greyhound racing, horse racing etc

Add factory farming, foie gras, veal, wearing fur, zoos, and aquariums to this list. Orcas at Seaworld. swimming with dolphins. etc etc There is so much cruelty.

TealQuoter · 09/07/2025 17:36

For the old chestnut of tradition= acceptable in relation to eating animals, this is thought provoking:

The amount of sugar we consume and how relentless the advertising is… it’s literally everywhere

How large all the portions are when eating out… including children’s. I think the children size is often a regular adult portion and the adult is just far too big for most people.

that we’re expected to (largely) sit still for 8 hours per day.

Having to actually buy a tiny piece of earth. Who decided it was for sale?

Who decided who owned it in the first place in order to sell it?

Religion full stop. It made some sort of sense to believe in a deity before the scientific and medical discoveries of more recent times and life would be so hard, brutish and short that probably only the thought of getting your reward in heaven would make life worth living.

Completely agree, how is it that so many people believe what is basically a fairy story like Father Xmas or the Tooth Fairy and live their lives by it, and that it causes so many wars and such hurt - I don’t see anything good about it at all although I slightly envy people who have the comfort of faith and can turn a blind eye to how ridiculous the whole concept is.

Donkeys and other similar animals being beasts of burden. Desperately sad.

My DH says this all the time 😂

”Put something in the water to stop further reproduction, turn AI on and give it full autonomy. Everyone gets a universal income and once the last of us die off? AI can have it all” 🫣🫣🫣😂😂

Haha I agree with him except the infertility thing. Maybe I’m having an existential moment but honestly I feel like the fact we are here on this planet in this Universe is such a magical unique thing and then society comes and sucks it all out of us. I want to be a magical human again, and just be allowed to do everything g that makes us human, like art and music and not sat at a desk on Excel, it’s madness!

rant over

Laughing. You get a weird feeling in your body then a bizarre noise bursts out of your mouth!

See also: crying! Not only does a weird noise come out, but water comes out of your eyes- WTF?

thestudio · 09/07/2025 17:38

Women doing the vast majority of the domestic shitwork (shopping, cooking, cleaning, admin).

It's so normalized that even people who consider themselves feminists often don't see the full extent of it.

Waitingfordoggo · 09/07/2025 17:39

Keeping pets. I have pets and I love them but every so often I say to my husband: ‘it’s so weird that this dog lives in our house’.

I’m actually grateful for the ability to cry but yes, it is so very strange. How it can not affect such a delicate pair of organs is incredible.

I was talking to DH about this recently, I said who became the first landowner or first King, everyone was just a normal person and then William got ideas above his station and declared himself Royal?

SparklingMetre · 09/07/2025 17:39

That schools don’t allow secondary children to regulate their own temperatures in a heat wave, by forcing them to ask for permission to remove their blazer, and sometimes it’s denied.

🙄

We wanted to. We fought for the right to do this and to be paid the same as men. It took a while.

You really think women should be kept at home and not allowed to work?

Oh shut up and stop reading something that's not there into what people say.

While we’re on the subject of bikinis/swimwear……

Why is is acceptable for me to lay on a beach in a two piece bikini, but it wouldn’t be ok for me to lay there in my bra and knickers? 🫠🫠😂🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
If it’s made of some sort of water resistant material then it’s ok.

Same with one piece swimsuits - fine to walk around the beach in it, but if I was wearing a bodysuit-style top and whipped my jeans off it would be met with shock 🤷🏻‍♀️😂
