Genocide.

Grammarnut · 09/07/2025 16:52

I agree. All that our bodies do should be accounted for in the work place and society. We are not men. We cannot behave like men, we cannot work like men. Until women's biology is accounted for in society and the economy just as men's biology is accounted for, there will be not equality for women.

Genocide.

I don't think people generally accept that as normal.

Transphobia/homophobia. I hate that this is normalised. Anyone who is transphobic or homophobic should be publicly shamed.

Who gets to define what is transphobic? Because it’s usually a word used to shut down biological reality, and to cover up the fact that men cannot insert themselves into womanhood without there being a detrimental effect on women and their hard fought for rights.

As for public shaming - TRAs do plenty of that, along with threatening women, having them arrested, making bomb threats at speaking events, attacking women. Public shaming alone would be a fucking dream compared to the shitshow that women have to put up with!

How fitting that the next post after yours rightly criticises genital mutilation.

I hope you condemn Hamas then, who intended genocide on Oct 7th 23, @FromTheRiver .

That you can buy fireworks and set them off at home.

I'm convinced the only reason no goverment has banned them is because they want us to remember what happens to people who try to blow up the polititians.

We're responsible adults, mostly. Shall we ban horses and cows? They kill as many if not more than fireworks.

Ihateboris · 09/07/2025 16:55

Also, having a Royal family

Smartphones - crazy how the technology has developed so fast that we now find it completely normal to walk around with a mini computer in our pockets.

I got a Walkman for my birthday when I was 16, and I thought that was the pinnacle of technology.

Completely agree. So many things about work are set up by men and for men who traditionally are facilitated by having a wife at home.

Now we are having to work in this system and be the wives at home, because men routinely do not step up to do their fair share, and so many women put up with it and deny it.

Fake eyelashes or eyelash extensions

Jaxhog · 09/07/2025 16:56

Constant swearing. It seems to be everywhere, especially on TV. I get that people need to let of steam now and again, but constantly? Use some other words sometimes for goodness sake.

Grammarnut · 09/07/2025 16:57

Strobbery · 09/07/2025 15:50

🙄

We wanted to. We fought for the right to do this and to be paid the same as men. It took a while.

You really think women should be kept at home and not allowed to work?

No, I don't think women should be kept at home and not allowed to work. But I think that we bear the burden of reproduction needs to be accommodated properly by society - which would not exist without us taking on this burden.

Using procedures to look younger, from hair dye to Botox. Grow old gracefully and take holidays on the money you saved!

I never do any of this. Still cant afford a holiday.

more to the point who decided a week was 7 days…

The Babylonians - it's an example of how some ideas just stick around.

Monarchy and religion - they had a purpose in that past I can see that.

I don't think the UK could easily get rid of moncarcy it's interwined in state and laws and not worth the hassle - but it is fucking weird - let's pick our figure heas by who they're born to and birth order from the remants of our medieval leadership breeding program.

CurbsideProphet · 09/07/2025 16:58

That Lisa Nandy publicly said convicted rapists should be allowed "to identify as women" and be placed in women's prisons. Now she's Culture Secretary and it's all forgotten.

That people seem to teach their children it's fine to just drop stuff on the ground / throw out of the car window. I don't have any other explanation for the amount of litter in this country.

That when I had a small benign breast lump removed and left hospital with a dozen stitches I left with supplies of really good painkillers and instructions to be careful with my stitches and take it easy after my GA. When I left the hospital 48 hours after my crash c-section with complications (under GA)I left being told to take paracetamol if needed and was expected to walk the 10/12 minutes from the ward to the car park.

ARichtGoodDram · 09/07/2025 17:00

Schools mandating black/navy/dark coats as part of their uniform despite all safety guidance stating that children should wear brightly coloured coats to allow them to be seen easier by drivers.
