I think if it's not in already tonight then it will be before 10am tomorrow.

Don’t know if it’ll be tomorrow, but she’s not got long left for sure

Neverendingwashingbasket · 03/07/2025 00:15

God do you think she will try and ride it out? She could do, I would be very surprised though. My thinking is she will cut and run.

I'm going for 2:30 pm

KnickerlessParsons · 03/07/2025 00:19

It’s all very weird isn’t it.

Neverendingwashingbasket · 03/07/2025 00:30

@InjuryMyArse That seems to be the usual time in politics. Will stick with early morning think she will want it done and over quickly.

@KnickerlessParsons it is all really weird. It will be a late night in Government tonight trying to work out the spin.

Poor woman. God knows why Keir threw her under the bus and why she went to PMQ when a personal matter caused her to be so upset prior. Sad Keir has so little empathy

CoastalCalm · 03/07/2025 00:33

Awful that there seems to be glee around someone being so stressed that she has to resign , she has after all just been attempting to do her job and follow the manifesto commitments set out by the wider party.

Gattopardo · 03/07/2025 00:34

I think trying to hound someone out of office because they cried, using sly “when will she GO?!?” Reform social media messaging is pretty grim. I hope she doesn’t go.

Overtheatlantic · 03/07/2025 00:36

The hounds smell blood. Such a barbaric reaction to the distress of another.

Miley23 · 03/07/2025 00:37

I think she should take some sick time before making any decisions. She looks totally stressed. I honestly think the media need to back off. Disgusted by Badenoch going at her when she was clearly distressed.

MaidOfSteel · 03/07/2025 00:43

A sweepstake on her resignation is a bit distasteful.

ohfourfoxache · 03/07/2025 00:45

For her sake I hope it’s sooner rather than later

She looked absolutely wrecked, poor woman 😔

AquaCat93 · 03/07/2025 00:47

What has happened? Apart from her trying to pick through an impending financial crisis and having to U turn.

That's my thinking it's like she's completely burnt out. I think she will reflect on today tonight and just go tomorrow.

I think there will be some news tomorrow along the lines of her or a family member having been diagnosed with a serious disease.

Where in the manifesto did they propose massive cuts that would impact disabled people?

notinscotland · 03/07/2025 00:51

I agree with Stephen Flynn, who is historically no fan of Reeves's politics or policies but at least appears to be a decent human being:

Stephen Flynn, the SNP's Westminster leader, said: "Like almost all MPs I don't know why the chancellor was upset in the chamber today, but I do hope she is okay and back to her duties this afternoon. Seeing another person in distress is always very difficult, and we are wishing her well."

More decent than Badenoch, certainly.

AquaCat93 · 03/07/2025 00:59

I've just looked at BBC and is it about the crying in Parliament? Anyone who has had a shit day at work, fought back tears and carried on turning up is a trooper IMHO. Politics aside, it's a sign of being human - you care, you have a job to do, sometimes it's hard, sometimes indirect things happen that personally affect you, but you know it will pass so you keep going.

I don't think it points to resigning.

Snippit · 03/07/2025 01:16

Exactly, it wasn’t in their manifesto according to the news today from one of their own M.Ps Nadia Whitmore, she is ashamed of the Labour Party for trying to do this to the weakest in society.

I voted for them for this reason as the Conservatives were definitely going to do something, Green Shield stamps I think 🤔(if anyone remembers them) I suffer with M.S and the Tories were after culling it in some way, shameful.

HeddaGarbled · 03/07/2025 01:18

Nasty

HauntedMarshmallow · 03/07/2025 01:21

Reeves is a woman so of course people are gleefully hoping she will resign for getting caught crying in public 🙄

ilovesooty · 03/07/2025 01:25

I agree with a PP. A sweepstake on this is distasteful.

Hannahpandle · 03/07/2025 01:26

I hope she stays. And even if she tendered her resignation this minute, it wouldn’t be accepted because then it would confirm all the rumours that this was entirely a work issue and nothing to do with anything in her personal life at all. And that makes Kier look a twat, so it won’t happen.

Noshadelamp · 03/07/2025 01:29

The lack of emotional intelligenceand willful lack of empathy today is staggering.

To anyone who actually watched pmqs it was obvious that Rachel Reeves was desperately trying to hold back tears, her chin and mouth wobbled throughout.

Reeves attempted laughing at the PM's jokes- who would do that if they'd just been "thrown under a bus" by that person?

This has got to be a personal matter.

These sort of posts are just so spiteful it's embarrassing.
