What’s the most controversial opinion you hold?

NC28 · 28/06/2025 19:58

Do you want to share any opinions you have that are (or may be) seen as controversial?

Mine are probably around the severity of criminal punishment the courts should be giving out for certain crimes and what kids should do in the event of physical violence from peers. Both subjects can be quite provoking for others.

What are yours?

I agree that social media for under 16s should be banned.

estrogone · 29/06/2025 04:13

Single use period products should be heavily taxed and reusable period products should be heavily subsidised. Same with nappies.

MutedMavis · 29/06/2025 04:18

Leotards and knicker combos on young female singers are expolitive.
I watched En vogue yesterday and two of the singers are 61/63! No edgy stage outfits required.
What's the reckoning the young 'talent' is managsd by men? Empowerment by arse.

Second controversal statement in general the older I get the more I dislike men.

Cookiecrumblepie · 29/06/2025 04:19

I don’t like people who share personal sob stories on social media for awareness. I think these things should stay private.

You don’t think that raising awareness is important?

I don't believe in donor sperm or ova, nor in surrogacy.

I agree with this too! I am against IVF and surrogacy. Nobody is entitled to have a child.

Me too. Less on IVF but something about surrogacy makes me very uncomfortable. But I agree no one is entitled to a child.

I also think that all drugs should be legalised, regulated and taxed.

What's the confusion? You said that people think that over 55 were jealous of younger and prettier women. I stated that I'm not jealous etc. What don't you get?

I didn’t get what you meant by the mind is willing but the body isn’t? Is there any need to be so rude?

I don't see anything sexual in the act at all, regardless of age. I just look at my toddler and, to me, it would feel absolutely crazy BF him, hes like a real human with words and teeth and running around playing with snails out the garden 🤣 he doesn't need that from me anymore 🤷🏻‍♀️

I really do agree with this. Nutritionally not overly helpful to the child much past one when they can tolerate cows milk and are eating a balanced diet.

Contraverdial opinion-it’s for the Mum not the child. Wish people would just own this and move on but yes the BF after a year I think it just plan weird. Past two is ridiculous

Bring back the death penalty for murderers and prolific paedos. I’d quite happily place the noose around their necks and pull the trapdoor lever!

I suggested chopping limbs off all pedos and child killers and keeping them alive but someone thought I had went too far. I disagree. Death is too easy.

Depends what the reason is tbh

I so so want to know what this said

Oh and Modern Drag is just another group of tedious men over-sexualising women. I have a strong suspicion that Ru-Paul is up to no good behind the scenes he is entertaining but fake as fuck.

Having a pet animal living with you in your home is weird. I love animals, I really do, but I believe they should live outdoors. I’ve never met anyone who agrees.

And the only reason it works and they bond with you is because they have Stockholm Syndrome after being kidnapped from their mother.

Animals do not belong to people. Removing them from their families causes them harm, which is why they spend time crying for them, only stopping when they give up hope and instead attach themselves to the human who has made them suffer in this way because 'I want a pet'

Yep, and this applies to farm animals too. That herd of young male cows in the field, they were taken from their mothers too soon and will be taken to slaughter while still adolescent.
Those skiny dairy cows, they are likely hungry, in pain from their oversized mammaries that we breed them for, and missing their children. Humans are sick. Don't even get me started on pigs, when did you last see a field full of them.
Yes, it's natural to eat meat and hunt the weakest animal, but farming, it's like a horror film to me.
We all hate puppy farms, a human farm would be abhorrent, but we are ok with certain animals being 'farmed'

MaySea · 29/06/2025 05:40

I think we should have a vote on capital punishment but make it clear that if you vote for it you are put on a register, if we accidentally execute someone who turns out to be innocent, someone from the register is chosen at random and executed themselves.

Animals don't stay with their mothers once they're old enough to fend for themselves. The same rule should apply to kids. Oj mums! 😂

I think giving a pet a home is a good thing. They wouldn't survive long on their own and having thoroughly miserable lives. There would be strays everywhere unless you agree with culling. Eating animals is another story. How can you compare the two? It's just as selfish to have kids then and bring them up in this uncertain world. Lots of kids are starving and neglected and growing up is not a guarantee of a good quality of life. Also, kids that grow up with pets are naturally more nurturing in adult life.

Then what would be peoples incentive to vote for capital punishment? Strange how you would vote to kill human beings and cry over all the animal being killed. I personally think a life is a life no matter what or who the beast. Punishment yes but to kill a criminal just makes you one in my opinion. Ironically I bet you hate Trump?
