What’s the most controversial opinion you hold?

NC28 · 28/06/2025 19:58

Do you want to share any opinions you have that are (or may be) seen as controversial?

Mine are probably around the severity of criminal punishment the courts should be giving out for certain crimes and what kids should do in the event of physical violence from peers. Both subjects can be quite provoking for others.

What are yours?

Out of interest, what would then happen to those children born into deprivation? Would they all be placed into foster care, left to starve, or go back to children having jobs instead of education?

She has a point. Growing up in deprivation is a death in itself but at the same time you can't say only people with money can have kids. It's not an easy one.

This is a long thread so I dont know if this might have been mentioned (probably not as most people disagree with this), but Amy Winehouse = totally overrated.

Plus, people shouldnt wear sports wear for normal wear. Shouldnt be allowed.

Oh and that new developments, new infrastructures, new buildings etc should be built around car use and not deny that people need cars to get around in most areas in the UK.

Yes...I agree with everything you say. Especially Amy Whitehouse

By the same token, why allow the future of the country to be shaped by a generation holding mostly outdated views and stereotypes?

16 year olds don't have the life experience. What do they about the cost of living?

Manova14 · 29/06/2025 03:22

That Israel has a right to defend itself and that its campaign in Gaza, against Hamas, is a legitimate war and not a genocide.

That "neurodiversity" is a meaningless term.

That most children who are dx with ADHD and autism don't actually have those disorders, and that the dx does them more harm than good.

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 28/06/2025 23:40

There are a lot of disability fakers than genuine cases.

Everyone is neurodivergent nowadays and so many of them are on here

Yogabearmous · 29/06/2025 03:23

i believe the best cure for depression is to be busy and working (having had severe depression myself before). I have never understood why people get signed off sick for this, when sitting at home isolated makes things far worst.

Absolutely and absolutely 💯

Blended families are rarely good for children. Mostly these suit the adults and can be particularly difficult when new children arrive.

Why does nobody mention the Armenian genocide? And the ethnic cleansing is still going on at the hands of the Turks! The Christians in Egypt and Syria being slaughtered. What about the Cypriot Greeks. Its all about anti-semitism in the west! Brits love Turkey but they don't love you! Just your money. Also, what's been happening in Yemen for years now. That's one tribe against another.

Technically a genocide is at least a million People. Someone owes the Jews 6million people. Metaphorically speaking 😬

I replied to myself instead of you below :-)

Most women say aged 55 plus, menopausal age, are jealous of younger and prettier women

Well I'd say...we wish we was young again. I'm not jealous. I had my time. Still look good...but unfortunately the mind is willing but the body isn't 😕

Everylittlehelper · 29/06/2025 03:53

I’d like an algorithm which detects then prevents the playing of computer games in domestic settings between 8am and 6pm.
I know this would affect the housebound, disabled, those in recovery, those retired but it would catch the work shy and remove one of the pleasures of not working. Why should they drain from others mentioned above?

Candleflower12 · 29/06/2025 03:55

Aldi and Lidl are overrated and you don’t save that much money compared to other supermarkets

Candleflower12 · 29/06/2025 03:58

If you earn over £100k a year you don’t ‘need’ free childcare hours. See so many people moaning about this on Instagram

Anyone who raises animals for meat consumption -pigs,sheep,turkeys,cows any other animal should be forced to have an abbatoir at home set up .
It could be a mobile truck , herd them in, do the business , next .Only to be done by skilled slaughter staff and CCTV to be used so no inhumane , deliberate or neglectful harm is caused . Cattle prodding , wrongful stunning , striking
The transport from farm to auction to abbatoir is inhumane .
They are forced into a truck , crammed in, they are supposed to be fed/watered but who knows . Then unloaded and herded somewhere else .

I am not saying "don;t raise meat animals" but those who do should be responsible for their entire life ,

I think if they had to hunt their own food they'd starve

Yup. I actually find -M&S better quality so I’m not throwing the shit I would away from Aldi and saves me money.

I personally find it selfish. Especially if you’re making kids, so strangers share a room.

JIMER202 · 29/06/2025 02:56

It’s weird to have a royal family and they need to be done away with (I mean titles and land removed by the next generation, not suggesting a French Revolution).

I don’t think we, the tax payer should pay for them. They do bring in a lot money via tourism but then I would have to see what was the bigger expense. Then French it up 🤣

estrogone · 29/06/2025 04:08

I think a private school education is better than a state school education.

Pisspotical · 29/06/2025 04:08

Bring back the death penalty for murderers and prolific paedos. I’d quite happily place the noose around their necks and pull the trapdoor lever!

Mashed potatoes are disgusting.

I totally agree!

They are one of the most disgusting foods ever, along with baked beans and all fish
