Re: I sent a cross message onto the family group instead of directly to my husband . Deleted now, but l feel so ashamed and mortified … reached out to a couple of members to apologise but no response.. it may or may not blow over but please tell me your experience of sending messages to the wrong group so l don’t feel so alone in my stupidity …

What did the message say?

Did you "delete for all", or "delete for me"?
And did they definitely see it?

My brother accidentally sexted the family group chat instead of his (now wife, then colleague) and the first person to realise was me as I was reading it out loud for my mother who didn't have her glasses on

Someone I know posted a video with a dildo shoved up her fanny. Was meant for someone she was messaging on Snapchat. Ended up on her story and she fell asleep.

Before the days when DH and I were married and lived together I sent a message that was supposed to go to my husband to my boss (who I wasn’t at all very close to) by mistake. I think my DH had asked what I was up to and so my text said

‘I’m sat in bed eating raisins and watching Emmerdale’.

I didn’t even realise my mistake until my boss replied ‘erm ok??’.

We had a family group chat to arrange a birthday surprise for my sister. My niece accidentally posted into it how she doesn't like any of us anyway, Awkward!

I messaged my manager saying "manager being difficult, can't get the day off" - it was meant to go to my bf. This was back in 2010, so couldn't delete it 😂 had to work the rest of the shift with her, so awkward.

Yes, there’s a difference between accidentally sexting your sibling group and sending a deeply unpleasant personal takedown to the subject of the text rather than the intended recipient. Also different potential consequences if a family situation rather than a work one.

I sent my exH a rather cringe message about how big my poo was and that it wouldn’t flush and that I was proud (we had an ongoing joke about this sort of thing). Except I accidentally sent it to a good friend and a work colleague. Friend called me in hysterics saying she’d read it in a work meeting and was barely able to keep a straight face. Colleague said nothing and when I mentioned and apologised he looked more embarrassed than me that I’d brought it back up. I felt embarrassed around him going forwards
