For me, its spinach. I eat it raw with every meal. I can easily get through 1kg a week by myself 😮

For DP, its tinned fish. He has it every day for lunch. He treats himself to fancy ones which is currently costing us about £150 a month 😮

What about you?

We also drink loads of squash, DH prefers mainly Orange Hi-Juice no added sugar, however my favourite is the grapefruit Hi-Juice one, only available in larger Sainsbury's and M&S. Our new squash of choice for the last few weeks is M&S Cranberry & Raspberry.

How can you be both 59 and buy several different bottles of flavoured squash a week?

BloodandGlitter · 25/06/2025 14:08

Dr Pepper - I think my blood might be pure Dr Pepper by this point. I have it on amazon subscribe and save to be delivered monthly.

Also agree with the other poster who mentioned Jasons bread - the tiger bread is amazing.

Not now but in my twenties when I was working in the Med either in hot kitchens or sitting in the cab of an un air conditioned coach being a tour guide, I survived on:

Black coffee, litre cartons of orange juice and the big bottles of Yop drinking yoghurt. I used to just neck down whatever was to hand.

And Pago. Pago is great. Pure sugar with that satisfying bang the bottom of the bottle, pop the lid ritual.

I switched over to diet coke in the evenings for my bar job.

Healthy hydration at its finest.

Would you tell me some recipes? I’m a fellow-aubergine obsessive, but I could use some new approaches — my current default is just stewing with tomatoes and basil, or roasting in slices with a smear of harissa.

Have a search online for Miso glazed aubergine - gorgeous

My take on an the Ottolenghi aubergine daal - slice some aubergines (about 0.5 cm), combine small diced paneer with finely chopped coriander and lime pickle, put mixture on aubergine slice and roll up. Pack the lovely little bundles together closely on a baking sheet/dish, brush with oil and roast until aubergine is brown and cooked - delicious

Oooh, 2 of my favourite things.
I'll be joining you!

Coffee. always slightly surprised when i go for a blood test and it doesn’t come out looking like espresso. I have easily 10 a day, more on tired day.

Coffee here too, I used to make myself mugs of latte with the entire contents of my 6 shot espresso pot! (Although only one1 a day maximum). Now I'm decaff!

BlackCatGreyWhiskers · 25/06/2025 14:15

Diet Coke and coffee. I am an addict for sure.

Soda water. about 3 bottles a day if I'm at home.

farmerboy · 25/06/2025 14:20

Oh I definitely drink too much Vimto squash but am prepared to branch out and try others. Cranberry and raspberry sounds good. Any other recommendations please?

Decaf tea, virgin olive oil, greek yoghurt, and developing a new Jason’s bread habit..

Oh yes, the Jason's bread is my new obsession, the sourdough and ciabatta is to die for.

I also found some pickled courgettes at a recent show and they are astounding with cheese. Unfortunately I've eaten them all :(

yonem · 25/06/2025 14:23

Watercress, I eat a bag as a side dish to myself a couple of times a week 😋 the bags are increasingly tiny though with shrinkflation!

apostrophewoman · 25/06/2025 14:24

Also Fage Greek Strawberry yoghurt, or the passion fruit ones, are astoundingly amazing and perfection in a pot.

Twostones · 25/06/2025 14:24

Frozen fruit. Bags and bags of it

VeganStar · 25/06/2025 14:24

Laver bread/seaweed. I have a tin every day. I eat it straight from the tin.
Potatoes. I boil up four bags of the baby potatoes from Tesco in an huge pot and munch on them until they’ve gone.
sometimes I fry some, or make a potato salad with them. Sometimes I have them with vegan sausages and veg. Other times I eat them straight from the saucepan cold.
they are delicious done in the air fryer smooshed up and sprinkled with vegan cheese. I love them as if you couldn’t tell.

Ooh, not come across that one yet, sounds yummy. Where would I buy it? Aldi is my go-to place for tasty but reasonably priced cheese, along with their cheese and black pepper thins, and sea salt crackers. No wonder I’m so fat.

Waitrose definitely has it. Tesco only has the unsmoked one as far as I can tell. Worth a trip!

NorthernTwang · 25/06/2025 14:26

Collectively, as a household of 4, we go through ALOT of Greek yogurt. I have a bowl everyday, so does dd, sometimes she has 2 bowls.

Eggs. Dh and I usually have 2 everyday, toddler ds loves them too, so he usually has 1 or 2.

Bananas, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries are consumed very quickly too. We buy several punnets of each every other day!

Coffee beans & milk.

GreenWriter · 25/06/2025 14:26

Tea, coffee (sometimes decaf both) & anything crisps / nuts related of an evening

Blarn · 25/06/2025 14:26

Burrata. I have them in a bowl with a spoon.
