For me, its spinach. I eat it raw with every meal. I can easily get through 1kg a week by myself 😮

For DP, its tinned fish. He has it every day for lunch. He treats himself to fancy ones which is currently costing us about £150 a month 😮

What about you?

I don't wish to add to your tinned fish bill, but the Sea Sisters range is to die for...

They look incredible, thank you.

Not me, or even strictly a food, but an ex used to go through a tube of toothpaste a week by himself. I could never fathom if he was just eating it, or had maybe seen the adverts where they squeeze toothpaste along the entire length of the toothbrush head.

Even if you did squeeze it along the length of the toothbrush head (which I think most people actually do) you’d never get through a tube alone in one week! He must have been cleaning his teeth about ten times a day or something. That’s really weird.

@GrumpyTwatFace Wow, can we swap, I eat popcorn and Tim Tams (I am Australian, I live in England and they sell Tim Tams at Tesco and remind me of home).

unstableunicorn · 25/06/2025 13:38

DH goes through masses of tinned fish so I relate! Especially tinned salmon which is a bit more expensive than cheap and cheerful tuna can lol

I do go through tubs of yoghurt, I used to get flavoured ones but just plain Greek yoghurt does the trick now with some kind of topping

stilldumdedumming · 25/06/2025 13:42

OMG. I’m vegan but my fella loves tinned fish. He goes to foreign shops so often he doesn’t really know what’s in the tin! I have a morbid fascination with it but usually from a distance. I have never eaten a fish product ever. The packaging design is v cool though. I have his Xmas present sorted thanks to this thread. He will love it!

afaloren · 25/06/2025 13:42

Sugar-free drinks. I love Robinson’s summer fruits squash, vimto, caffeine-free Coke Zero. They keep me off the booze!

DH is twiglets and regular Coke Zero, and Rose’s lime cordial with sparkling water from the soda stream as we used to get through cases of the bottled stuff and it was a horrible amount of plastic.

Capers, my husband says I try and get them in every meal which isn’t totally true

I am the same with anchovies 😂

pintsizeprincess · 25/06/2025 13:43

Love diet coke. I keep boxes in the garage and have to have at least 3 tins chilling in the fridge at one time. Also addicted to the seafood sticks from Tesco. Can easily eat a pack to myself throughout the day. So tasty.

GrumpyTwatFace · 25/06/2025 13:44

II've just signed up for a Sea Sisters subscription for DP based on a recommendation upthread.

Might be a good present for your DP.

I agree, the packaging is always incredible.

Too much cheese, wine, bread and olives.

And loads of garlic, but you can never really have too much garlic.

As my name suggests, I also eat a lot of legumes, but that's recommended by the health experts.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 25/06/2025 13:48

Toast. I love it.

Among others its Nuri sardines and Diplomat herring in teriyaki sauce.

I'll take a look at Rio Mare.

He's obsessed with Tinned Fish Market: The Tinned Fish Market - Online Tinned Seafood Delivery Company

I was about to write a post about how on earth can you spend £150 a month on tinned fish when you can get a tin of sardines for 80p in Tesco. And then I saw your link 😂Yeah they look amazing.

And I'm obsessed with anchovies so wish I wouldn't have clicked on this now 😭

@BarnacleBeasley this may sound ridiculous, and could just be because I’m weird, but I always eat loads of apples when my iron levels are low. I crave them, then when I have an iron infusion (I can’t tolerate iron tablets), the craving disappears almost overnight!

QuickPeachPoet · 25/06/2025 13:51

In the summer - melon
In the winter - satsumas

Oh that's interesting! I have had low iron in the past, but am fine currently. I think we all just really like apples, to be honest. My DP eats loads too. And the 18-month-old is copying the 4-year-old, so has to get his own apple every time his brother has one.

M&S Chicken Caesar Dip - it’s the food equivalent of crack.

GameOfJones · 25/06/2025 14:00

Coffee for me too. I try to limit it to 3 cups a day but if I didn't have a cup of coffee first thing then I'm not sure what I'd do! It is cheap enough at home but I'll get a coffee out at least 3 or 4 times a week and that does add up!

Also....cheese of any variety. The other day I had a cheese and onion sandwich for lunch and then a halloumi baguette with a side of mozzarella sticks for dinner. That was obviously a problematic day but it secretly made me very happy! 🤣

On a healthier note. Tinned beans and legumes. Particularly chickpeas, butter beans, haricot and borlotti. We get through multiple tins a week as they're such a quick way of making a meal. Some onion, peppers, beans, spices and a pack of wraps and you have fajitas in about 5 minutes.

FlatErica · 25/06/2025 14:02

Organic, rare breed, high welfare meat. I eat a lot of it.

Coffee. always slightly surprised when i go for a blood test and it doesn’t come out looking like espresso. I have easily 10 a day, more on tired day.

Same

Adhdalien · 25/06/2025 14:04

Coke Zero. Currentlu have 7 x 2l bottled rolling around in my boot that I forgot to take in the house last night

Have you tried the smoked Red Fox? It is quite simply the best thing ever 🦊

Ooh, not come across that one yet, sounds yummy. Where would I buy it? Aldi is my go-to place for tasty but reasonably priced cheese, along with their cheese and black pepper thins, and sea salt crackers. No wonder I’m so fat.
