For me, its spinach. I eat it raw with every meal. I can easily get through 1kg a week by myself 😮

For DP, its tinned fish. He has it every day for lunch. He treats himself to fancy ones which is currently costing us about £150 a month 😮

What about you?

Coca-Cola, it's terrible, but I drink at least 1 litre per day

needrain · 25/06/2025 14:27

Coffee.

Mauvehoodie · 25/06/2025 14:27

Red cabbage sauerkraut when I've made a batch, seems to work with every meal!

Kombucha. It's expensive too. I get two boxes delivered every month. Thing is, I dont like alcohol and I dont like sweet drinks. So I'm limited.

TescoGold · 25/06/2025 14:29

Extra virgin olive oil. I seem to get through bucketloads of the stuff!

BigDahliaFan · 25/06/2025 14:30

I drink squash but it's labelled as cordial which feels slightly more grown up.

Tea - probably about 10+ cups a day, mostly decaff...I like tea.

PruthePrune · 25/06/2025 14:31

High protein chocolate mousse.

TaliaTalia · 25/06/2025 14:33

Kimchi, Bamba, Langley farm cottage cheese (often all three on the same plate for lunch), bottled water. Used to just be tap water but whatever comes out of our tap here is so vile that even the water filter can’t make it better.

Just be careful with spinach as the oxalic acid can cause kidney stones and I hear they are intensely painful. Perhaps mix it up a bit with some more varied leafy greens.

Among others its Nuri sardines and Diplomat herring in teriyaki sauce.

I'll take a look at Rio Mare.

He's obsessed with Tinned Fish Market: The Tinned Fish Market - Online Tinned Seafood Delivery Company

I got my dh a selection of various tins of anchovies from here for Valentines day. During covid when most people were panic buying loo roll he was panic buying anchovies

LarrySherbert · 25/06/2025 14:39

Currently the Great Food Affairs bruschetta from Aldi. I also have something of a marmalade habit. Dark and bitter ones on dark ryvitas is my absolute favourite.

sansou · 25/06/2025 14:40

Makes me feel better that our coffee bean habit hasn't breached the £100 pm yet. I've worked out that we order 1kg of coffee beans from our local coffee roaster approx every 3 weeks at £45 on average (if we ignore the £1k+ coffee machine outlay) - it's not really saving us any money especially when DC1 comes home next week and it becomes a £90 pm on coffee beans alone!

Digdongdoo · 25/06/2025 14:42

I love spinach too OP. And other leafy greens, we go through 6-8 bundles a week as a household.
Chocolate rice cakes are my vice. And coriander - I'd happily put it on almost everything.

Redheadedstepchild · 25/06/2025 14:42

As a side note, I have noticed that there seems to a conspiracy afoot, in which whenever I take a particular liking for a product or flavour of product an internal memo seems to go out within the food company's HQ to STOP MAKING IT NOW!

I've lost count of how many times this has happened. As soon as I get into something, it dusappears.

RobertaFirmino · 25/06/2025 14:42

Birds eye chillies. I grow my own and they end up in around 6 dishes per week.

partyboat356 · 25/06/2025 14:44

I drink far too much squash for a woman in her mid 40s haha, but there are worse habits I guess!

Pleased to "meet" someone else my age who drinks squash!

menopause59 · 25/06/2025 14:47

Sugar free red bull i know it's bad for me but i drink at least 2 cans a day more if i have a hangover

BB49 · 25/06/2025 14:47

I picture your DH at home watching people on TV madly scrambling for bog roll while eating anchovies from a tin.

In my imagination, he's in a smoking jacket eating with a tiny silver fork in a very grand, panelled living room 😂

Toast and chocolate, although I have cut down to two squares of chocolate a day, tried going darker, thinking it would stop me, but no I just got used to it.
I eat a lot of nuts too.

Andoutcomethewolves · 25/06/2025 14:48

Frozen grapes (I probably get through a punnet a day - in my defence it keeps me away from ice cream 🫣), fizzy water, and cheese.

Oh and more recently as I'm trying to diet, Lidl high protein puddings over frozen raspberries, pineapple and blueberries.

I do sometimes think I have an actual problem with frozen fruit... I mean it's healthier than the ice cream alternative but I'm not sure over half a kilo a day is great 😬

LBFseBrom · 25/06/2025 14:50

I like extra mature cheddar and tomatoes.

littlemousebigcheese · 25/06/2025 14:50

God, wish I craved spinach and sparkling water. Mine is chocolate, crisps and Diet Coke 😂😂

Poonu · 25/06/2025 14:51

@Ecrire @GluttonousHag me too. Would love some recipes
