What food or drink do you consume an inordinate amount of?

For me, its spinach. I eat it raw with every meal. I can easily get through 1kg a week by myself 😮

For DP, its tinned fish. He has it every day for lunch. He treats himself to fancy ones which is currently costing us about £150 a month 😮

What about you?

Nuts, nut butters, olives, dark chocolate and tinned sardines(I buy the cheap ones though). My nut habit costs about £500 a year!

Well, despite what my username suggests, I never drink Pepsi. Grin
However I used to consume way too much prosecco and wine. I have not had a drink for 15 days now and considering we have been out twice in those 15 days I have saved nearly £150 on wine alone. Its all water all the way for me now. I feel loads better and sleep better also.

Congratulations on taking that first step 😍

I consume alcohol really, really rarely now. I feel [and look] so much better for it.

Capers, my husband says I try and get them in every meal which isn’t totally true

Everyone in my family eats ridiculous amounts of apples.

Dates with a bit of peanut butter on them. Like a slightly healthier snickers.

Oh that sounds lovely

FurForksSake · 25/06/2025 12:54

Tonnes of tinned fish can lead to mercury poisoning can’t it? Might be worth ensuring he is within guidelines!

anyway. Mine is lucozade zero sugar pink lemonade. It’s literally all I drink. I have a fridge in my garage full of it and buy in bulk from Amazon. I can’t imagine what the bin man thinks.

I do not have a diagnosis but I definitely have sensory differences and safe products and drinks. I will panic if I can’t access it.

Greek yogurt, berries, grapes, apples.
Cheese

Cheese. Currently addicted to Shropshire Blue, with a side of Red Fox vintage Red Leicester.

Have you tried the smoked Red Fox? It is quite simply the best thing ever 🦊

SoScarletItWas · 25/06/2025 12:56

Sweet potatoes, kale, peanut butter, crisps.

Sometimes in various combinations of at least two.

applegingermint · 25/06/2025 12:57

Coffee, Greek yoghurt, All Bran

That looks quite strange written down 🫣

Blondebrownorred · 25/06/2025 12:57

Eggs, jalapeños and tap water. Not all together!

Chocolate

nothing compares to it. I crave it and search for it every day.

That’s me too
😔

I agree with you there. I’m like a moth to a flame if giant capers are on a cheese & ham platter.

OP I’d get your bloods checked. I craved spinach and would much through bags of the stuff, turned out I was SEVERELY anaemic. Your body is trying to tell you something!

GrumpyTwatFace · 25/06/2025 12:59

@FurForksSake Mercury poisoning is only a risk from certain fishes so he's fine on that score. I mean, seven tins of fish a week is probably doing some other weird shit to his innards but we're a-ok on the mercury front 😂

I don't crave spinach as such, I just really, really like it 😂

I got a blood test about a year ago [for lead poisoning from our water supply] and all was fine.

Currently nectarines (could happily eat loads but have 2-3 a day) and mint magnums (only while they are on offer), I love them.

bythefireplace · 25/06/2025 13:03

tea, squash
gherkins, cottage cheese

I drink far too much squash for a woman in her mid 40s haha, but there are worse habits I guess!

I have such a squash habit too 😂

Mind out for kidney stones- spinach is pretty high in oxalates.

mickandrorty · 25/06/2025 13:05

Spicy pickled jalapeños I can often be found in front of the fridge eating them out of the jar.

ThePoshUns · 25/06/2025 13:06

Sparkling water

Belladog1 · 25/06/2025 13:06

White wine, stilton and Haribo

IButtleSir · 25/06/2025 13:07

Brown sourdough bread and iced tea (but lots of different blends, so there is some variety!).
