British men in hot weather

Why do ( some) Brits ( men) strip off their tops the moment the sun is out? I don't want to see sunburnt beer bellies, multiple tats and baggy nylon shorts wandering around the supermarket. Men in France and Italy where its much hotter for longer wouldn’ t do this. Smart shorts and a polo shirt much nicer.

I’m screwed taking that test then and I’m British (or whatever we call ourselves these days).

I’ve no idea what time they open and certainly no idea when they close now.

I have been in Central London and around Highbury and Islington, lots of young fit men running around topless and it's gross. It's bad enough hearing them hyperventilate in a sweaty t shirt, this time topless too? Eurgh. Women are not much better running in little shorts and bras.

British people always exaggerate how hot it is very quick to dress skimpy 😂

It's because they're a bit common. A gentleman wouldn't do that!

How would that work at swimming pools? Would men have to wear bikini tops or all in one swimsuits too 🤣

It’s not about body shaming. Sweaty torsos should be covered in public places apart from beaches, parks and pools. I don’t care if they are body beautiful or flabby .

Which supermarket was this, because I don't know any which let men wander around with no shirt on. I was in Aldi today, and no half naked men in there.

Just agree that women can be topless at swimming pools if they wish. None will be in reality of course.

It’s never on the whole the attractive ones either who tend to be more white shirt, good plain t shirt and linen trousers or even in hot weather jeans types . Pair of good shorts at a push

There were "words" had at work today. A bloke came in shirtless, we have very clear signage that shirts must be worn inside and in the garden. We are "naice" family place and no one wants to see that.

Bloke starts having a go and going on about how its "its fucking hot!" when I asked him to put his top back on. And I was about to answer when a guy on the next table said "Yes it is mate and yet somehow the rest of us are coping, put your shirt on or leave!" Bloke puts his top back on. Personally I think it was because the other guy made him look like a twat who couldnt cope with a bit of sun!!

You've also described many Romanian and Albanian men in my area OP 🤷‍♂️

i love the summer to see beautiful artwork on peoples bodies! one of the reasons i hate the winter and i’m wearing so many layers! i paid good money and spent hundreds of hours being tattooed and i want to show them off 🤣

Local wood-fired sauna says anyone can be topless, not wishing to be transphobic I suspect. Reality is that women are not.

Worst is when they remove their t shirt, tuck into their jeans and swagger down the street, like Rob Roy going into battle.
