David is a great name (not Dave!!). I considered David for my younger son and sometimes wish I had chosen it over the one I did choose.

David is a lovely name. Elegant and classic.

David is a lovely name. Elegant and classic.

It happily crosses all age groups and classes. I draw the line at Dave though.

Back in the mists of time I have a Drusilla and a Keziah in my family. Not sure they will be making a comeback any time soon.

Agree Karen is over. Eileen will never again be resurrected & the same with Noleen. I think Bonnie will not be back again for a while.

Bonnie is back big time. Three in my kids’ nursery.

TheodoraCrumpet · 14/06/2025 18:15

Shirley hasn't had any revival, or has it? And Bertha doesn't sound either cute or elegant enough to become fashionable.

Keziah/Kezia is pretty popular in certain circles in the UK.

CatteryCatz · 14/06/2025 18:15

Karen.

My favourite was a dog called John.

All our animal names are human names - dog ‘Phillip’, cat ‘Dave’, cat ‘Rodney’, cat ‘Del boy’, hamster ‘Clive’ and rabbit ‘Bob’ 🤣 my next dog will be called Deidre and that’s a non negotiable

SillyMillie90 · 14/06/2025 18:18

I know a Barbara in her early 30s

Flossflower · 14/06/2025 18:20

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/06/2025 14:48

Victoria Coren-Mitchell and David Mitchell called their first baby Barbara.

Sharon and Tracy?

Sharon and Tracy are now pronounced with the same contempt as people used to pronounce Ruby and Ivy years ago. When I was young I could not imagine in a million years anyone would call their child Ruby again!

Roy, Alan, Beryl, Nigel, Audrey, Rita, Valerie, Margaret, Belinda, Howard, Christine

A friend of mine has 4 kids under the age of 13...three of their names are on your list! We're in Canada.

Anzena · 14/06/2025 18:22

Darren, Dean, Wayne, Kyle.

Sharon, Susan, Margot, Betty.

BunnyLake · 14/06/2025 18:22

I can’t see Brenda ever coming back, was there ever a time that sounded nice?

Maureen
Beverley
Brian
Sheila
Derek
Valerie

These are names I have never come across on younger people.

Shirley: 3 recorded births last year.
Bertha: seems to have sunk without trace!

Darren, Dean, Wayne, Kyle.

Sharon, Susan, Margot, Betty.

Margot is always being suggested on here. Don’t know how many people are actually calling their child that, though.

The Good Life with Margo and Jerry.

Emanwenym · 14/06/2025 18:25

@BlueyNeedsToFuckOff , Babies called Margot in England & Wales since 1996

RedOnyx · 14/06/2025 18:25

Adolph definitely. Possibly Alexa and Karen.
I can't imagine Fanny making a comeback in the UK, although there is a Swiss skier in her 30s called Fanny Smith.

Let’s hope so.

Are their surnames Leadbetter? 😊

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/06/2025 18:27

892 Margots born last year, allegedly. 103 called Margo.

BunnyLake · 14/06/2025 18:28

Anzena · 14/06/2025 18:24

The Good Life with Margo and Jerry.

Margo Robbie, she must be in her 30s but could help popularise the name.

Never see young Trevors.

Anzena · 14/06/2025 18:30

OK, OK, Margo/t is back in - or not out. Help!

Instead I give you Ethel. Waiting for another bomb here....

BunnyLake · 14/06/2025 18:30

Anzena · 14/06/2025 18:22

Darren, Dean, Wayne, Kyle.

Sharon, Susan, Margot, Betty.

You absolutely know how old a Sharon or a Susan are going to be 😁. Betty is Elizabeth isn’t it? A classic name but not one I’ve seen on young kids.
