The owner of hate forum Tattle Life has today been legally named as Sebastian Bond. He also goes by the alias Bastian Durward. He has tried to flee to Asia to avoid paying his legal costs.

I think by going through a person's posts and seeing what they've said about themselves and taking every bit of disclosed information and using it to try to build a picture then looking for people who tick all those boxes.

Hugely problematic. First of all the person may well have lied about things. Secondly, the chances of misidentifying someone are high. Even if all the things they said about themselves over the years was true, the chances they are unique is low.

You cant just say oh, X poster said they live in London, work in finance and have blonde hair and look at this fb profile. This woman lives in London, works in finance and has blonde hair therefore this is her haha gotcha you thought you were anonymous...

And the person doing this 'unmasking' is themselves anonymous so how can they be held accountable for misidentfying someone and for the consequences of that?

Edited

I think any influencer who is doing this or resharing the doxxing of "trolls" of other influencers are likely not going to be taking this to court. If they did and the proof was there that they were sharing information like this, I cant see a judge looking very kindly on them. Some of them are even asking trolls to come into their inbox and apologise. I would argue this isn't particularly legal?

I now see that the Sands' are discussing taking the website down rather than going after individual followers. And that SB is now mounting a defence!

What's his defence? He didn't read the website and see the awful posts?

The people calling out Tattle are dodgy in the extreme. "Dr" Jessica Taylor is a hugely unscrupulous, problematic "doctor" to say the least.

I can't follow these posts from someone who says they've been stalked by one woman and it's nothing to do with Tattle but it's all Tattle's fault... nor why anyone who isn't a public figure, and their brother, would be splashed all over Tattle. That's not me disputing it (although I dispute anyone who makes claims about things being shared/posted without receipts, mainly because anyone can say anything online and people automatically believe it!) but asking for actual evidence.

LittlerCharlotte · 21/06/2025 13:24

Roobarbtwo · 20/06/2025 17:57

There are so many people on here who seem to be making excuses for the stuff th
at happens to people. I'll just say that when I saw the stuff that was posted about me on tattle I had already been threatened and had stuff posted to my house. My brother doxxed and reported to the dwp and had threats to maim me. By the person who posted on tattle about me. And I didn't know them or tell them who I was. They found that out. So for anyone who just says don't look . You don't have a clue what you are talking about. Photos of my house went up on twitter too - and the person who defamed me on tattle was the biggest player. Seriously. Get lost if you think it's ok to be defamed online. It fucking isn't

I was harassed for 15 months off tattle and then that bitch crossed it over to tattle. I begged the site to remove the posts. Pages of them. But apparently all you need to do is not look. Fuck anyone with that point of view-apologist

If it helps I can't find any posts relating to what you're talking about, so they look like they have been removed now.

They haven't been. It was two years ago and they will be still up

LittlerCharlotte · 21/06/2025 14:39

Maybe your posts on Mumsnet have done the trick, but there is nothing there. I hope that helps and that you're OK x

Roobarbtwo · 21/06/2025 16:27

This was the first post posted about me - in part. There were scores more -all vicious. All nasty. And highly defamatory. I have plenty of receipts btw. Two phones full of hate and 7 police visits. And not once did I blame tattle. I just didn't need it all dragged up again

I've posted screenshots-they are under review - and they have not been taken off tattle.

LittlerCharlotte · 21/06/2025 16:47

I will do a better search as I did read the first one but thought it was about Sarah Jane - I still don't understand what it's saying but it doesn't matter. I am genuinely sorry to have brought it up for you again.

Roobarbtwo · 21/06/2025 16:48

"Julia" is the person who harassed me on twitter for 15 months

She was dishing dirt on me - and as I said it went on for pages on that thread - poisonous defamatory lies. No. The first comment was someone posting the lies Sarah tweeted about me and then someone who had harassed me offline jumped in to start slating me. It's not on the current thread - it's on an old one

LittlerCharlotte · 21/06/2025 16:59

I have found the thread now. I am sorry to have troubled you. To make you feel better there's only a couple of posts on there regarding it so try not to let it bother you.

You haven't troubled me at all.

Who is Dr Jessica? @LittlerCharlotte I see she has been vocal about Tattle, but I have never heard of her or several of the others as try not to follower influencers

What happens to all the court cases if tattle does indeed close down and disappear

Sasssquatch · 22/06/2025 11:34

See Jessica Taylor’s thread is a brilliant example. I had alarm bells ringing after seeing some of the things she posts about. I googled, landed on tattle and realised my hesitations were shared by others, who were having a respectful, nuanced and informed discussion. I’ve not checked it for a good while but at that time it was certainly much deeper than commenting on her apprentice or whatever.

people make huge amounts of money and gain enormous clout through their public personas. They also have the ability to shut down any discussion on their own pages. It’s not unexpected that the conservation happens elsewhere.

Tattle has a culture of keeping the evidence and that must be very concerning for people who are making good money and can put themselves in influential positions by portraying an image which may not be necessarily accurate.

Nothing is ever truly deleted on the internet.

Thank you @Sasssquatch- I will have a look for her thread.

This. If you comment on a content creators social media page, and it’s not blowing smoke up their 🍑, then ten to one you get your comment deleted, you get blocked, and in the case of Right Guys Reviews Mark doxxs you, normally if female, then that poor person gets vile messages from his rabid followers, but he is not the only one that has MO. Tattle has the receipts and they hate that. I only follow about half a dozen threads, each one as a result of my ‘does anyone else feel this way?’ searches. I’m not a member so have no access to the wiki on various people- I bet some are a great read.

So (allegedly) the big song and dance about hiring a crack team of expensive forensic accountants and investigators was just Neil asking if any hackers on Reddit knew anything about who Helen/Sebastian was? Hacking isn’t legal is it?

No.

Is there not something in the law about that?
The doctrine of clean hands?

They've just handed the tattle bloke's legal team a gift if what's being said on reddit is true.
