BeardofHagrid · 13/06/2025 18:18

The owner of hate forum Tattle Life has today been legally named as Sebastian Bond. He also goes by the alias Bastian Durward. He has tried to flee to Asia to avoid paying his legal costs.

Lolz at the idea that you could do an FOI request. Even if you did one to a public body they wouldn't disclose people's personal information. Imagine! 🤣 I'll just do a FOI request to HMRC shall I, and get the details, names and addresses of everyone who earns over £100k a year 🤣

Yep- same with thinking they can usurp GDPR and get access that way.
I think it will be shut down. Seb will flounce off in a huff and take it all with him. He’s closed it down before hasn’t he?

That is what they want. I think it’s for the best. If anything else takes its place I won’t be going anywhere near it! Lesson learned I swear! 🙏🏻

Apart from TikTokers nobody else is talking about it.

Can’t wait to see everyone named and shamed as users.

Why?? Note that you are using a fake name on this site - you thing you should be named and shamed for using Mumsnet???

Caligirl80 · 15/06/2025 20:17

Wayk · 14/06/2025 13:43

it Should be shut down years ago. Imagine if someone reading those horrible comments about themselves did something to harm themselves. People are called fat, ugly and dirty amongst other dreadful comments. I hope it is shut down pronto.

Well if that is the test then Mumsnet and the Daily Mail and every other tabloid would be shut down instantly. Besides which, if someone doesn't want to read tattle they don't have to! who cares what a bunch of people are saying behind your back?!?!?!?! you have to assume there will always be people who don't like you - so what?

Belcat · 15/06/2025 20:32

Some things said on tattle are truly awful! I myself posted. But anything I’ve said Is true. I was and still am horrified my the Elle Darby racist tweets. I think that YouTubers especially saconne jolys exploit their kids for views. I’ve said all this - it’s not wrong. It’s facts.

ElizaTh0rnberry · 15/06/2025 20:45

Facebook, X and insta as well. You wouldnt be able to say a word on the Internet at all.

I completely disagree with anyone taking it off of Tattle and messaging anyone privately. That is ridiculous and abhorrent.

But if influencers want this to go further, I'm assuming all their dirty laundry would get aired? Like if they set their followers on people etc. If they doxed people?

Dollshousedolly · 15/06/2025 00:10

I wouldn’t worry. Think logically about it, there would be no basis for a Court to order the identity of every single member on Tattle to be revealed. If this happened, then every other chat-forum, newspaper comments, Instagram, TikTok …… could at some stage be asked to provide the identity of all its members/posters.

You haven’t posted anything defamatory. At the very, very worst, your email details and username would be revealed, along with 370K others. You can be sure that some of these 370K are well known people, including influencers. There would be no interest in a random person who posted a few times.

Thank you for reassuring me @Dollshousedolly I did panic when I saw those posts on TikTok yesterday. Two videos, I can’t remember the influencers names but they were really gloating about outing everyone who uses tattle. I really don’t think this a good look for those influencers and probably just drove viewers to read their tattle threads. It’s really ridiculous thinking about it considering there are threads on there like support for parents with disabled children, current affairs, advice threads etc.
It’s a shame that the site hasn’t been run properly, if they had invested in decent moderation then it probably wouldn’t have got to this. I once reported some extremely hateful and racist posts and never got a reply from them.
There’s definitely a need to call out influencers, especially when they often aim their content at young impressionable girls but there’s a line that needs to be drawn and hopefully the next place will do it properly.

Well this is the thing. Which is why I reckon their ultimate ideal outcome is it gone. All gone rather than have to deal with the embarrassment of them having had accounts themselves in the past all being exposed too. Things like imagine if for some of the bigger insta accounts had family members, their mum on it etc as proof they looked at it themselves and went at tattlers.
Such a mess.

You obviously haven't had poisonous stuff posted about you on tattle. Nasty vicious poison that came from someone who harassed me for over a year in real life.

Roobarbtwo · 15/06/2025 20:54

I hope the site does go. I I'll never forget the Lauren Goodger threads. They were slating her and they took a pause when her baby died and then they were right back at it

I agree with this completely. No one should be subjected to this. Could I ask (as long as you are comfortable answering) did the person harass you offline first or did it start on Tattle and then move offline?

I think there are some genuinely helpful threads on there.
More so than truly aggressive threads but I guess the worst ones get all the attention.
I remember moderators used to be on it, like I remember seeing an influencer saying there were threads and threads about wishing her baby dead but I went on and there was none of that. So either it didn't happen or the mods removed it straight away.
So whether they've stopped doing that i don't know.

Roobarbtwo · 15/06/2025 21:10

Offline first for over a year - I had to see police 7 times due to the threats and the doxxing and then someone on the Sarah Jane Goodwin thread slated me because they had been watching my twitter and then the girl who was harassing me joined in. Went on for pages. I asked tattle to take her lies down several times and they couldn't even be bothered responding

I was shaking when I saw it and the worst thing was I knew it wasn't going to come down. It was horrible. I challenged her on twitter and she locked her account. She had others dedicated to me. All hateful. The worst thing was she lost her long term partner suddenly about six months before but her focus was on hating on me.

Completely no need for it. Fuck him and his site. Sorry - the damage it does to people who don't deserve it

See this should absolutely have been taken down and members banned. I am sorry you had this happen to you and I really hope this is all behind you and you don't have to deal with it now.

I wonder if this is what happened in the NI case? That they contacted Tattle in a similar way and they were ignored. So then they went after the owner of the site for allowing the comments to stay up.

Caroline Hirons just said he’s deleting threads on tattle and rallied everyone to download theirs asap??

Like I said, if they get him to take it down THIS is what they want. No costly lawsuits then.

Excuse my ignorance but what is a class action lawsuit?

Can you even download threads?

I'm guessing the lawsuit will be against Tattle for not moderating appropriately.

I just think that if defamatory posts go up they should be torched. Because I was in a terrible state after seeing lies that were posted about me on there - who is going to take responsibility if someone ends their life

Me too. I almost ended it because that platform gave a vile person a place to anonymously spread lies about me, it was a full blown (false) character assassination. Was small fry compared to some of the nasty things I’ve seen about big creators.

Take the anonymity away and let’s see if people still have so much to say.

Again, the people who sued did so because of defamatory comments that damaged their business.
Influencers trying to jump on this because of ‘nasty’ comments are wasting their time and money. Not to mention, the couple who sued have not seen a penny for two years, including the amount they had to spend on legal fees, because he did a runner. I haven’t seen anywhere that they have actually received any money yet. So good luck to anyone else that fancies a go!

Don't ask me why. I just looked on that thread one night and I saw it. I was shaking. I have ptsd due to the harassment and I just could not cope with it. But at some point you need to see it for what it is. I had a uni essay due the next day and I was in bits. But they didn't beat me. I've just finished my degree. So I win. Thank you x

Roobarbtwo · 15/06/2025 21:52

I'm so sorry. The person who defamed me on there waged a 15 month hate campaign against me offline and threatened me. I actually didn't know who it was at first which sounds silly as there were others involved but she gave away things she had said elsewhere - I called her out on twitter and she's never come near me again - and if she ever does I'll be back to police

Keep your chin up

The police didn’t/couldn’t do anything either. They told me to come off social media which didn’t actually help. I am the same as you, ptsd from previous harassment. The person knew that and used it to their advantage with Tattle as a weapon in their arsenal.
