The owner of hate forum Tattle Life has today been legally named as Sebastian Bond. He also goes by the alias Bastian Durward. He has tried to flee to Asia to avoid paying his legal costs.

I don’t think he even is deleting peoples threads. I think public access to that one which started it all the sisters closet or something isn’t working as it shud and obvs Neil would be keeping an eye on that but all the others look as they are.
I am sure they can all calm down now lol.
Also just seen an Instagramer- I like him- “Danny Fucking Price” put up a post calling Keir Starmer a cunt a while ago! I imagine Nigel F gets called one on every platform that exists. Welcome to the internet folks! If you’re a public figure then it’s a cesspit. I don’t know what they think they’ll get from their class action- money from him? Is that what this is all about??

From what I've read, it's back in court for them to figure out how to get the money from him legally.
They've frozen his assets and named him because he hadn't paid up yet. Reporting restrictions have been lifted. Also as someone mentioned previously, the people who made the comments about these two and their business have not been named. Unless it was just Mr Tattle himself who made the comments.

Don't forget the case is 2 years old. 4 if you count when the charges were originally brought to the courts. Influencers would have known about the victory 2 years ago so would have been able to start proceedings then. It's only the naming of him that has caused a flurry on instagram and tik tok.

They're going for site shut down i think. This seems to confirm that they pursued legal action due to Tattle not taking their thread down.

I agree- they want it down which means all defamatory threads gone. Which is what Donna and Neil wanted but Seb refused. That’s what anyone defamed online wants- the stuff taken off. It’s when the host of the site/ and or poster of the defamation refuses to take down, it ends up in court. In this case because the defamation was by anonymous posts the only person they could go after was the host of the site.
As people have said this whole case is old. If they could have had the usernames of THEIR defamers wouldn’t they have them by now? Or did a court tell Seb to do it and he refused? Would that not have been mentioned in the case?

Wasn't there a case on Mumsnet where someone sued them for defamation because they wouldnt take down an anonymous thread?

I'm not up to speed on defamation laws but I would imagine first port of call is removal of the post and maybe an apology? Not 100% sure but if we start going after every individual who makes a comment on the Internet, social media just wouldn't exist.

Most of the influencers I've seen on instagram (not tik tok) are just calling for the site to be taken down and not really talking about naming and shaming every user.

Also these two got 150k each from a multi millionaire. What would be the point of suing the average joe down the street? I imagine they'd go after the big hitters who have maybe shared addresses in the past or admitted they've called social services.

I stand by influencers wanting the site gone so their dirty laundry is no longer aired. There are a lot of screenshots on there for what some influencers have done and who they have encouraged their followers to go after. If that comes out, surely that's game over for the influencers as well?

Roobarbtwo · 15/06/2025 18:37

It's on the Sarah Jane Goodwin thread. I was in a terrible state when those posts went up. Because I was just getting my life back together and then she started on me again. Because her partner died and because people were creeping over my twitter and she saw it and joined in. If people think that kind of free speech is acceptable then I don't know what to say. I was suicidal after my arrest and then she crossed it over to tattle. I was just getting over it until I saw her posts.

Are you an influencer or in the public eye? Why would a group if people on Tattle target a random person?

Henrysmycat · 16/06/2025 08:35

The whole influencer shite is just that. Influencing? Go get a real job ffs. Selling themselves to for some cleaning wet wipes.
Someone need to make them accountable but some went too far on tattle. Even if the shit down tattle, don’t you think people will start another? People are sick and tired of these idiots lying on social media and selling you subpar proverbial.

Yeah I agree totally I think they all want him to pay them damages for how they’ve suffered from him hosting the site and they b) want it all gone.
I think ideally on some of the most awful threads they’d ofc like to know who the commenters would have been but again I don’t think they’ll ever get to know that. Any judge if they asked I am sure would tell them if you look hard enough you’ll always find someone badmouthing you on the internet. There’s no way to stop that. It’s free speech. Like has been said every single website that allows forum discussion would be implicated. Most have better mods than tattle of course which is part of the issue here.
I can see on tattle tho that they’re all still commenting on N&D’s defamation thread so some of the trolls on there have absolutely learned nothing. My account is in process of deletion cos I don’t want anything to do with it any more. I had no idea of some of the really vile defamatory stuff on there at all.

I've already explained on other posts. Some posters on tattle look at peoples tweets so a tweet of mine was mentioned and someone on the thread was someone who had harassed me online for a year - to the point that I had to see police several times. The person posted lies about me that went on for pages. I asked tattle to remove them and I got zero response. The other people on the thread didn't target me - they just lapped up the lies. Someone else on this thread has posted saying something similar. That they were discussed on an influencers thread.

No I'm not an influencer or in the public eye - but neither is Sarah Jane who has a thread on the bloggers site - she's just someone who has done a lot of questionable go fund mes and someone started a thread about her on the bloggers section on tattle

I don't understand what you mean, they looked at your tweets, tweets about what?
And are you saying that all the horribleness is still on Tattle, none of it was taken down??

Yes I am aware. I've just seen the posts. Not sure why they are sitting speculating that I'm Sarah. (not for the first time). I have no connection to the woman at all. Sarah made a number of tweets about me and other people because I called her out on her grift- and that led to the stuff that was previously posted on that thread. Sarah is an absolute idiot.

If they want to copy and paste stuff from here and discuss it that's up to them.

Yes and it says “all posts are users OPINIONS”. And opinions cannot be defamatory if they can be “reasonably held as an honest opinion”.
The problem he has run into is all those “opinions” people were putting on N&D’s thread ended up defaming their business and all the initially asked him to do was take it down. If he had just done that at the time and saved himself the bother…..!

It also says no abusive or hateful messages. It all goes back to the lack of moderation. I don't know how many mods are on that site. There used to be a few on the Jack Monroe thread and mods at that point (around 2022) did make sure that threads weren't dragged off topic. But then the moderation seemed to stop. The site is massive and there aren't enough people moderating it.

As I said the other day there was a photo posted up of that guy that Bex was seeing, she had a thread on the bloggers site but she's left social media now, someone had gone to his Facebook page and posted his photo up and his name and Monroes ex partner was named and photos of him and his new partner were posted on that thread as well.

Yeah I agree and that’s what makes him ultimately, liable.
Which is why now they know him, they want a class action suit to go after him for not either taking down requested stuff and moderating content better.
It was/is HIS circus, HIS monkeys.

. A further review of the case is scheduled for 26 June 2025, where ongoing enforcement of the damages and injunctions will be evaluated.

Do the influencers saying tattlers are going to get outed have inside information from the couple?

BlackBeltInOrigami · 16/06/2025 09:41

Daisyqueen45 · 15/06/2025 20:47

Thank you for reassuring me @Dollshousedolly I did panic when I saw those posts on TikTok yesterday. Two videos, I can’t remember the influencers names but they were really gloating about outing everyone who uses tattle. I really don’t think this a good look for those influencers and probably just drove viewers to read their tattle threads. It’s really ridiculous thinking about it considering there are threads on there like support for parents with disabled children, current affairs, advice threads etc.
It’s a shame that the site hasn’t been run properly, if they had invested in decent moderation then it probably wouldn’t have got to this. I once reported some extremely hateful and racist posts and never got a reply from them.
There’s definitely a need to call out influencers, especially when they often aim their content at young impressionable girls but there’s a line that needs to be drawn and hopefully the next place will do it properly.

Don’t forget, engagement = £££’s. So probably lots of ‘it needs shutting down’ comments, plus ‘what’s Tattle?’, ‘what’s happened?’ etc. These content creators are savvy at comment baiting, and that’s what that reel was for.

It was one person who started it on the Sarah Jane Goodwin thread. What happened was that I had made a tweet about Sarah's grift (as did many other people) and then Sarah made some nasty tweets about me and I challenged her. She removed them - and then someone on tattle (a girl that had harassed me offline) decided to post some really poisonous things about me. There can be a crossover from twitter to tattle at points - folk from tattle look at folks twitter - and that's how it all started.

Went on for pages. No they weren't taken down - I asked several times.

It got to the point that I couldn't read it anymore and someone on twitter tweeted me saying the stuff thats being posted about you on there is really poisonous. The people on the thread didn't target me - some of them just enjoyed the gossip that was being posted up.

Alluding to what is going to happen when a injunction is lifted is that going against what a injunction is for?

A high court case review is a standard protocol to review that the judgement was correct. It could be that they’ll look at any injunctions the couple took out against the tattlers defaming them on their post- and the judge could look at lifting their details in the same way as the mumsnet case. But it always gets done on a case by case basis because of the whole free speech thing.

Influencers thinking this means everyone on tattle getting their fake emails released is just wrong. Just like we said, the monumental consequences for free speech online that this would have- it’s just not going to happen!
