Wasn't there a case on Mumsnet where someone sued them for defamation because they wouldnt take down an anonymous thread?
I'm not up to speed on defamation laws but I would imagine first port of call is removal of the post and maybe an apology? Not 100% sure but if we start going after every individual who makes a comment on the Internet, social media just wouldn't exist.
Most of the influencers I've seen on instagram (not tik tok) are just calling for the site to be taken down and not really talking about naming and shaming every user.
Also these two got 150k each from a multi millionaire. What would be the point of suing the average joe down the street? I imagine they'd go after the big hitters who have maybe shared addresses in the past or admitted they've called social services.
I stand by influencers wanting the site gone so their dirty laundry is no longer aired. There are a lot of screenshots on there for what some influencers have done and who they have encouraged their followers to go after. If that comes out, surely that's game over for the influencers as well?
