The owner of hate forum Tattle Life has today been legally named as Sebastian Bond. He also goes by the alias Bastian Durward. He has tried to flee to Asia to avoid paying his legal costs.

Nothing will happen to you! If this influencer is saying “trust me”, you can be sure you need to do the exact opposite.

Honestly, people need to be more outraged that these influencers think they can flex and shut down free speech and our opinions. Am I saying it’s morally right to call someone fat or ugly? Absolutely not! And I never have. But it’s an opinion and no one should be able to take that away from you. How dare they think they can shame and threaten people legally (and they are very incorrect with that anyway) for having free thoughts?! Influencers are not protected characteristics 😅

I wish this much effort was put into understanding how exploited and controlled their children are.

The issue is it's not just influencers that are on there and get shamed. Some people get caught in the crossfire. Like the ex partner of Monroe. Actually several. There were people posting floor plans of her house - and I can't stand her. Folk posting her son's dad's name. His place of work. There surely has to be lines that people don't cross.

Some of the threads on there are pretty light hearted and others are toxic.

HolaEspanola · 15/06/2025 16:17

Well the influencers claiming they can do the FOI Act to get everyone’s names tells you all you need to know about their brains.
This is only for public bodies who hold information. FFS

They just want it to go away- they see how much money Sebastian is making off of them and they hate it. I really believe it is scare tactics now to force the shut down and they will get what they want without having the argument of more court cases. Even though I’m not sure you can get a judge to shut down free speech anyways wouldn’t it have happened by now…??!!

I think this is the issue and this is probably why the site needs moderating much more.

I agree, this court case was in 2023 so surely any issues with it should have been brought to light then? It's only the naming of him that was approved yesterday so is it really as big as the influencers would have us think?

It does need moderating more. He's responsible for the fact that is isn't. Free speech is fine - but some of those threads cross lines they really shouldn't. They have a disclaimer that they don't tolerate abusive posts - they absolutely do. They don't have enough mods for a site that size for a start

It makes me laugh that Tattle has this big notice about not tolerating hateful speech etc but the whole site is utterly vile and toxic. I’ve gone on there on occasion out of curiosity so I guess that makes me part of the problem, indeed I had a look today following the ruling and there is no sign of their absolute cruelty to other humans abating. It should be taken down. Horrible little man deserves everything that is coming to him and I doubt this will be the last lawsuit.

Who would leak it?
Also I can’t see any judge ruling to disallow anonymity on the internet- think of the implications that would have for people who need to be anonymous for safety due to protected characteristics etc etc

Having said that yes I’ve been bitchy on there and I wish I hadn’t but there are some pretty awful threads let’s be honest. If they weren’t so vile I dont think they’d care half as much. As others have said there still on there today being no changed at all. Some of them are just trolls who don’t give a fuck. The rest of us were a bit stupid to get caught up in it. Don’t make us the same. I didn’t go after someone’s other half or leak their house address etc

HolaEspanola · 15/06/2025 17:47

And also if they could get the details of everyone from there, they’d have done it in 2023!
this has only come up again cos they finally found HIM so he can pay his damages he’s been evading for 2 years!

I saw her post and the way I took it was that now that he's been named because he has to pay damages is that he was going to throw everyone under the bus.

Do we actually think influencers want this stuff exposing though?
Ive seen some influencers post pictures of "trolls" on their instagram and sending their followers after them. Do they really want that exposing?

I think the ultimate outcome will be tattle is either deleted or has to become much more stringent on their moderation.

I'm sure they would have known his name in 2023. Reporting restrictions have just been lifted now?

The only place of interest is on TT and Insta where is the Main street media reporting it? Why have the daily mail not picked up on the biggest revealing of trolls?

But then he’s breaching the T&Cs of his site and all the tattlers could sue him lol

Reporting restrictions were lifted yes but I read it said I was a 2 year chase round the world to find him.

I don’t get what is going to happen now. I’ve seen a well known influencer publicly call Donald Trump a nonce on his fully open insta site. Should THAT be taken down? People object to GB News- they say it’s funding hate. Should THAT be taken down?

Just going to say that the stuff that that person posted about me on tattle almost drove me to a breakdown
For context she was part of a group that was harassing me for a long time. They made false allegations that I was stalking them and they got me arrested. They almost ruined my life and then I had to see someone on tattle laughing about it. Years after the event. She threatened to kill me. They posted photos of my house. My address. They sent stuff to my flat and then she went on tattle slagging me off over pages - and tattle wouldn't remove it.

Come on. Tattle is shite and it's hurt too many people

Yeah that’s awful of course.

Yeah that’s awful of course.

It's on the Sarah Jane Goodwin thread. I was in a terrible state when those posts went up. Because I was just getting my life back together and then she started on me again. Because her partner died and because people were creeping over my twitter and she saw it and joined in. If people think that kind of free speech is acceptable then I don't know what to say. I was suicidal after my arrest and then she crossed it over to tattle. I was just getting over it until I saw her posts.

Yeah there’s no denying some of the stuff is awful.
I can imagine many of the instagrammers want the BIG trolls on there outed. There’s 370k on there. Who are on for different reasons.
But I still maintain the goal is deletion. They don’t want people going there reading stuff at all.

Roobarbtwo · 15/06/2025 18:45

I got rinsed on there - all sorts of stuff posted about me with no right of reply but everyone on the thread lapped it right up as if is was fact. And it all started because some people on tattle were watching my tweets. My issue isn't with the person who posted it. Because I know she's a bitch. It's with the site that refused to remove it

Sometimes free speech is horrible

I just think that if defamatory posts go up they should be torched. Because I was in a terrible state after seeing lies that were posted about me on there - who is going to take responsibility if someone ends their life

grumpytoddler1 · 15/06/2025 18:55

Lolz at the idea that you could do an FOI request. Even if you did one to a public body they wouldn't disclose people's personal information. Imagine! 🤣 I'll just do a FOI request to HMRC shall I, and get the details, names and addresses of everyone who earns over £100k a year 🤣

KaySam · 15/06/2025 19:00

I imagine some of the influencers are panicking too as some of them will also have an account on tattle, maybe they’ve not posted but they’ve got an account to read about themselves and others,

FrothyCothy · 15/06/2025 19:03

The only moderation I’ve seen on there was when I got moderated for “tone policing” as I told another poster they were being unnecessarily unpleasant about someone, can’t even remember what person it was about. So yeah, the moderation is wildly unbalanced.

Someone above mentioned users there calling an influencer’s 9 year old fat. Of course that’s completely inappropriate - but so is the influencer for putting their 9 year old in the position of being in the public eye. Whatever happens to Tattle I hope some influencers will start to think carefully about putting their children out there so readily.
