In Sainsbury’s cafe they used to sell these Almondie biscuits. Cookies that tasted like marzipan with a hint of orange - pure bliss but not seen them for years.

MagpieCastle · 13/06/2025 18:43

Waitrose Keralan chicken. If I'd had any idea they were about to discontinue it, I'd have filled a shelf of the freezer with the lovely stuff.

Magenta82 · 13/06/2025 18:43

In the 90s M&S used to do these amazing baked potato and butter flavoured crisps, I think they might have been baked/lower fat.

Glenisk pear yoghurt
Real Philadelphia in the foil block that you could break a bit off- not the pasty consìstency it is now

Yes! The old Philadelphia was like proper cream cheese.

soupyspoon · 13/06/2025 18:44

The BHS cafe in the 80s used to sell triangular whole meal scones. Served with butter and cheese.

Lovely

Drifter bar

M&S cream cheese and ham pinwheels. They had healing powers.

I so so miss these. Marks and Spencer, PLEEEEEAAAASSEE bring them back.

Mine will always be Spira chocolate bars.

I was going to post this too! Why on earth were they discontinued?

IfYouPutASausageInItItsNotAViennetta · 13/06/2025 18:46

Orange Viscounts and Trios.

DollopOfFun · 13/06/2025 18:47

M&S Syrup Sponge Dessert. I bought that fucker for about 25 years and now it is no more.

And don't anyone post and get my hopes up by saying they still do it, they don't. I'm not talking about syrup sponge puddings. I've checked with M&S and the desserts are gone 😩

Mars Delight was the G.O.A.T of chocolate bars.
Was a crime against chocolate when it was discontinued.

I came on to say this, and mars planets 🤌🏼

Same!

Disneydatknee88 · 13/06/2025 18:48

Mini hoola hoops. They used to come in a cube shaped packet. Starburst joosters. Iceland used to sell jelly baby ice lollies which were amazing.

Drifter bar

As in "you can't rush a drifter"?
I also remember the 70s!

And gold rush bubble gum in a bag?

00deed1988 · 13/06/2025 18:49

Mars Delights. I dream about them

RatherTardy · 13/06/2025 18:50

Branigans roast beef and mustard crisps.

I loved them ❤️❤️❤️

Very strong flavour, so quite niche

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 13/06/2025 18:51

Toffee Crisp Yoghurt
Mars Delight
Those Cadbury Lu and Ritz chocolate bars

mostly sweets but I wish you could still get Creamed Mushrooms in a tin. Anyone seen them anywhere?

SausageShop · 13/06/2025 18:51

Ricicles! Had a huge craving at 38 weeks pregnant and went to 4 different supermarkets before googling and receiving the terrible news. I cried.

Agree with dark bounty. Also toast toppers were really nice and I think it was birds eye used to do a frozen beef curry which I absolutely loved as a teenager.

I’m sure I’ve seen Toast Toppers recently. Might have been Tesco?

Growlybear83 · 13/06/2025 18:52

Eden Bale choc top yoghurts, with the layer of hard chocolate across the top.

Ooh I can almost taste these thinking about them. They were lovely.

Proper Milky Way
Dark Bounty
Marks and Spencer lemon, parmesan and artichoke dip
Marks and Spencers own brand of fondant fancies (not the current ones they do, really fabulous ones last seen in around the millenium)
A vegetarian pie, like hambledown or tumbledown or humbledown pie or something like that, used to find it in Waitrose, frozen, again round the millenium, fantastic.
Parmesan and parsnip vegetarian sausages from Cauldron

When Waitrose had bakery counters, they used to do individual lemon fondant fancies that I had finally forgotten about but now you’ve set me off again.😆

Birds Eye’s Chocolate Lovely is my normal answer to this question (you need to be old😉) - although a relatively recent one that still offends is M&S discontinuing their ‘Best Ever Quiche’, which was fabulous and the only shop bought quiche that was fit to serve people.

cashewchew · 13/06/2025 18:53

Start cereal

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 13/06/2025 18:54

The thing with Spiras was you could have them on Weight Watchers because they were really low in points!

freshsunday · 13/06/2025 18:55

Chilli McCoys
