Sainsbury's used to have goldfish crackers. I wonder why they stopped.

Coffeeishot · 18/06/2025 09:10

Those "American candy shops" sell Goldfish,

I used to love the 'candy cigarettes' that you could buy when I was a kid - for the satisfying chew and sweet taste; not because they were designed to look like ciggies, even down to the box that they came in.

I mean, I can completely understand why they stopped selling them, but...!

Cadbury Silk bar. It was a little tray of five or so individual chocolates with a strawberry filling. Luscious.

And Terry's Pyramints!

YY to Phileas Fogg American Corn Chips!

Oooo, Pyramints. Loved them.

Pizza Expressed stopped making the Venezianna pizza, the bastards!

Mighty White bread

Dominos used to offer a sun dried tomato sauce instead of the standard tomato sauce on the pizza base.

Mushroom Feast frozen breaded mushoom filled loveliness

Thayer’s vanilla ice cream

Lidl Special K dupe (they’ve added sugar, and it’s horrible now).

Phileas Fog Californian Corn Chips

Linda McCartney’s Ploughman’s Pie

Dolmio traditional pasta Sauce

I don’t know if Mackies have stopped making crisps, but I can’t find them here in Kent.

Quatro, but I fear it was the cause of mu numerous fillings in the 80s!

We have Mackie’s crisps in Sainsbury’s- maybe they have stopped exporting them to England as they are a Scottish brand?

They are called goldfish crackers, they are a total staple in the US, I'm not sure why we don't have them here!

They were very similar to goldfish crackers from the US, but not the same brand or packaging.

Mackie's crisps are now being made by Taylor's after Mackie's sold their crisps bit of their business.

I think it was Jacobs who did those little packets of savoury biscuits shaped like fish, they had pizza flavour, cheese flavour and bacon flavour but I can't for the life of me remember their name.

Do you mean Burtons Fish And Chips? They still exist in places like Home Bargains and B & M. Three flavours : Curry, Pickled Onion, Salt and Vinegar

henlake7 · 18/06/2025 14:07

Yes BHS wholemeal scones that were triangle shape in the 80s. Never tasted anything like that since
