For me it is terribly pedestrian.

Hot soapy shower before bed. Getting into bed all clean and warm makes me feel so good.

Peppermint tea before bed- same

Getting up at 5.30 am and having a quiet cup of coffee and reading a book before everyone else gets up at 6.

HRT and strong antihistamines

Did couch to 5k with a lovely local running club who don't take it too seriously, and then kept going once I'd done the 5k.
There have turned out to be loads of benefits from it for me beyond just getting fitter.

Interesting! Think of doing similar. What other benefits did you see?

Where did you get it? How is it different from cotton? Does it crease? Tell me more, please!

It is so soft and light. It’s cool but also warm!
it feels like sleeping under a cloud and it’s so beautiful.
I love it! Ordered more for the other beds in my house. Makes me feel like a princess! 🥰🤣

Out in fresh air, stress relief - physical exertion and no need to use your brain (bit like mindfulness I guess, just one foot in front of the other and remember to breathe) because someone tells you what to do...

Structure to get me doing it (set time and place to help counter my poor willpower) sense of achievement, social aspect of seeing friendly faces at the club and often at races / parkrun, when I'm naturally introverted but sometimes want a bit of chit chat. And might not see anyone other than DH and DD all day, or just do lots of work meetings and get talked out.

I've signed up to races and you usually get a medal for finishing, which has made my daughter see me differently...and has got me to places I wouldn't have gone otherwise. Usually trails in nature but even a road run through a town centre you visit often is great for feeling part of something. Lots of people cheering on and great atmosphere. I've run in the rain and discovered I love it, it makes me feel like a kid and just really alive.

And when I go out on my own I get to listen to audiobooks / podcasts/ music which I don't seem to much have time for otherwise. Time to myself too I guess.

DH. Life can be hard, but being with him is easy. I've never stopped falling in love with him.

Mounjaro. 42lbs in weight just melted away. I look and feel younger, better and healthier.

Mulberry silk pillowcase and pure goosedown duvet. Feels like going to sleep in my own private cloud.

Being retired at 54. Having time to enjoy a 2nd coffee at breakfast. Or reading late into the night, knowing I can lie in. The sheer hedonism of doing my cross stitch in a sunny garden on a Tuesday lunchtime.

Spending time with my now adult daughters. They make me so happy and I'm so privileged to be their Mum.

@Livinganewadventure
i have the Days deluxe, but the Careco Comet is exactly the same, both fold up small into a carry bag for travel
Do shop around as prices vary hugely.

DoreenCorkhill · 10/06/2025 22:56

Yoga - been breathing wrong for 50 odd years !
Coffee machine
Walking - all the time anywhere and everywhere .

Jostbucause · 10/06/2025 23:14

My babies. One is asleep on my chest right now making small piglet noises and I WANT TO FREEZE TIME. My life was great before them, but they’ve supercharged it.

My husband.

A really nice cup of coffee.

A long, aimless walk.

Having a garden, after living in a flat for decades. It’s transformative.

Fancy bread.

@thenewaveragebear1983off topic but what job do you do? I'm looking for a new wfh job and one that attracts non bitchy people sounds amazing!

Back on topic... a hot chocolate / cup of tea before bed, in bed while I either read or scroll mindlessly

BunnyLake · 11/06/2025 18:21

Kid’s school days being behind them.
Both kids having successful launches into adulthood.
Being single.
Using cream and adding cheese (or whatever else) to make a sauce instead of messing around with a roux and milk.

Oh and buying veg frozen instead of fresh as much as I can.

asrl78 · 11/06/2025 18:29

Connections with people, knowing that there are people who love me and who I can turn to for help if needed and vice versa. Female friends who I can offer love through hugs and will do likewise. Occasionally buying a gift for a woman just to remind her I care about her and watching her face light up.

Having a job that provides a comfortable income, I work well with my co-workers and managers and I enjoy the work.

Hiking in areas of outstanding natural beauty, especially mountainous areas.

Voluntary work, enables me to expand my connections and provides satisfaction in knowing I am working with others in a common purpose to do something worthwhile.

Piglet in Bed do lovely ones as do La Redoute. Both have websites. It does crease, but that is part of its charm .

I’ve paid for a cleaner today. Actually three turned up, so three hours of cleaning in an hour. Oh my, they’ve done a brilliant job. Well worth every penny.

My Job - working from home, Im very fortunate that after 18+ years at the same company (working from the office for the first 12 years) Im now working with people I've known since I joined; not continuously we just seem to be a die hard group that have stayed and been reunited along the way, this means we have the connection but are not under each others feet in an office😅

I can do the school run, pop out for sports day, take a early lunch to miss busy times at the shops etc. After years of questionable management, stunted career progression and being micromanaged, being trusted to do a job I enjoy is amazing - Im ruined for working in a office again
