My gorgeous boy died today and I'm holding on to the hope I'll see him again one day. It's incredibly painful without him.

I am so sorry for your loss. My boy passed away in Feb this year, it’s very painful. I still think about him, miss him etc.

To answer your question op, I hope so. 💙

RentalWoesNotFun · 07/06/2025 19:05

Sorry for the loss of your beloved friend. I absolutely believe we will all see each other again in spirit. Humans and animals.

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 07/06/2025 19:07

I'm so sorry for your loss 💙
Yes, I absolutely believe so.

I hope so with all my heart. I'm sorry for your loss 🙏

Angelswatchingoverme · 07/06/2025 19:17

I'm so very sorry for your loss💐
Losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things we will go through as humans but I believe If we've shared a bond with another living thing be it a another human or an animal, that bond never breaks and when our time comes we are reunited with those we love including our pets. He will still be there right by your side so don't stop talking to him, he can here you. I wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't send you a little sign to say 'I'm still here mum'. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Stay strong and remember all the happy memories you shared🩷 xx

I'm sorry that you've lost your boy, thinking of you.
I hope very much that we will be reunited with our furry pals in a future life beyond this one.

cashmerecardigans · 07/06/2025 19:20

I hope so too. We lost our beloved boy in December and miss him so much. @Angelswatchingovermei agree. The day we brought his ashes home we had a strange knock on the door at 3am. I got up and there was no one there. I‘m still convinced I didn’t dream it and it was him telling us he was home

You know the story about the man - or let's say woman - who died at the same time as her dog, and they walked up to the pearly gates together. A stern angel with immaculate feathers said sorry, no pets allowed.

She couldn't face the parting so they walked on a little way and found a shabby little gate into a slightly overgrown garden. They went in, and after a while found a seat, and a little stream that the dog could drink from. They sat together for a long while, and then a rough-looking but amiable bloke came by, and said hello, and patted the dog. They chatted for a little while, and then the woman asked - where is this? Heaven, he said, I'm Peter. Oh! - but at the pearly gates the angel said . . .

Yes, he said, that's the rules in Hell.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Angelswatchingoverme · 07/06/2025 19:30

@cashmerecardigans How lovely, I would say that was definately him telling you he was ok and safe on the other side🩷

PinataHeeHaw · 07/06/2025 19:32

I'm so sorry for everyone's losses. @cashmerecardigans, your boy had arrived home! It just took time for him to get to heaven to see everyone there and then for his soul to get back home to you. He's with you everyday x

I'm so sorry OP. When my beloved cat died suddenly the thought of being reunited with him one day was the only thing that got me through. I believe we will be with all our loved ones, human and animal, when we die x

CraftandGlamour · 07/06/2025 19:40

I'm sorry for your loss. We lost our wonderful collie three years ago today. I think of her every day. I absolutely believe we will see our loved ones again.

SmallChanges3 · 07/06/2025 19:41

Absolutely, I think you do see them again. I have my dog's ashes and I fully intend to be scattered with him when I die.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Gettingbysomehow · 07/06/2025 19:53

I've seen them all already, they all visited me when they died. The visiting dreams are very different from normal dreams - real, and you wake up feeling great.
I've also had an out of body experience when I failed to be revived post op. If you'd seen what I'd seen you would know there is no death.
Its so tough when they go but you'll see your boy again, soon, time is just an illusion.

caringcarer · 07/06/2025 20:18

I am with my cat when I dream of him, he's right there with me. I can touch him.

PowderPants · 07/06/2025 21:58

My beloved cat died last week. I got the ashes back today and I’m inconsolable.
I think I find it difficult as he was “just a cat” to so many people but he was my best friend and with me always- slept in my bed and so on. (Yes I’m normal husband young kids etc!)
I think society accepts grief when family die but less so when pets do. Last week was half term and I had some leave which was fortunate as I struggled to put one foot in front of the other.
They give so much pleasure and unconditional love- that’s why it hurts so much when they go.

Coralleadery · 07/06/2025 22:06

No, because I don’t believe in an afterlife in any way shape or form.

SiobahnRoy · 07/06/2025 22:08

No

Theseventhmagpie · 07/06/2025 22:15

Lost my boy in November.
Heaven does not exist if I can’t be reunited with my boy in it.
sorry for your loss, the pain is awful.
xx

cupfinalchaos · 07/06/2025 22:23

CatsMagic · 07/06/2025 22:46
