Can you remember the first thing you ordered off Amazon was?

I remember ordering two girls aloud DVDs. One was their Chemistry tour and the second was a documentary series about them preparing for the tour. At the time it seemed to exciting we would be able to watch the tour over and over as often as we wanted. I also remember Amazon parcels were just sent through Royal Mail and having to get the bus into town to pick up the parcel from the sorting office.

A whole load of children's books.

Bikechic · 06/05/2025 17:52

Yes. It was Annabel Carmel baby and toddler weaning book. 2001. I was in a different country and also paid a large amount of postage, but feeding pfb was soooo important and I needed very specific instructions from a trustworthy uk source.

I just checked and it was Pussycat Dolls workout DVD in 2010. Funnily enough I was just thinking about that DVD yesterday!

I didn't order it but my first delivery from Amazon was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2000.
I can still remember the amazement of it.

It would probably have been a book, years ago now.

Cookerhood · 06/05/2025 18:12

Eats Shoots & leaves in December 2004, although I'm fairly sure that DH had an Amazon account that we used before then.

OneWildNightWithJBJ · 06/05/2025 18:18

I knew it would have been a book. Just checked and it was two Bill Bryson books and a Jeremy Paxman book! Exactly 25 years ago.

My history only goes back to 2002 but I know that ordered stuff before that. It must have been about 1999/2000 and I ordered a video for my dh and my credit card details were then stolen and I had to cancel my card so I refused to use it after that.

obviously I changed my mind as in 2002 I ordered story books about Franklin the turtle for my daughter,I’m sure we still have them somewhere.

Do you have to go on the app to see all the way back? Can only see 3 months on browser.

pinkisthenew · 06/05/2025 18:30

Just looked it up - a Wii Fit!

Aliflowers · 06/05/2025 18:33

I assumed my first order would be a book but just checked back and I ordered 2 DVDs in 2009. The rat pack collection for DH and Buena Sera Mrs Campbell for MIL

i also ordered a pair of Rocket dog knee high leather boots that I’d seen on Jennifer Anniston in a magazine and was duely influenced.

Click filter beside the search bar (the bottom one to search orders, not the store) and you can filter it by year.

I place Amazon orders almost weekly and have had multiple accounts so definitely not.

DP has had one account since 2006, his first order was a Godfather game for the Nintendo Wii

LittleCosette · 06/05/2025 18:47

BooksAndHooks · 06/05/2025 19:39

Harry Potter book and a book about someone travelling to every tube stop in a day.

Difficultsituation89 · 06/05/2025 19:40

Apparently mine was a paperchase recipe book, and I remember that book well 😂 it had a plastic green cover and you added what you liked to the organiser. I can’t cook and think I had one recipe in it which I only ever used once!

Bonsaibaby · 06/05/2025 19:46

Looks like I bought a book about the Dead Sea scrolls in 2001 which I don’t remember and don’t have! I also sold a few books on amazon which used to be really easy by putting in the bar code but you can’t do it like that anymore. Lots of books on eBay these days though.
